Our Web Master, April, a Proud Foster failure!
This amazing lady came into my life just at the right time! She was a student at CSUMB & her project was to find a website that needed upgrading. Since she loved bunnies & animals, she found us and created our beautiful Website ! Her work even earned her an award. Shortly after, she adopted our PORCHE (aka WALTER) bunny & later a bunwife, PETRA. THANK YOU APRIL!

Bri Bunny

Brianna & bunnies
Who knew this amazing daughter would be one of our best bunny care takers ever! She has an amazing way of handling & bonding bunnies !

Beepers & Mom

Beepers & New Mom
First time bunny owner and scared little bunny, not the combination we look for. We took a chance and went with out gut instincts. Sure glad we did. Miss Beepers and her Mom visit us regularly and Miss Beepers shows us how happy she is by kissing her Mom all over her face endlessly! She is so loved! Recently Mom even took in another of our special bunnies Valentino! One big happy family!

Calli
This gorgeous female came to us in a messy horrible state. Her ears were busting over with ear mites as she constantly tried to scratch, she simply couldn't due to extreme weakness in her hind legs. We rushed her to the Avian Exotic clinic, had Xrays & other testing only to find nothing unusual. We are suspecting she was left in a tiny wire bottom cage all her life and never used the muscles need to hop. She is in foster care receiving "excerise therapy" and has improved in 24 hrs. She needs more of course, so she is looking for a home to help her improve building her muscles up. She eats, poops, drinks, pees 100%
Whiskey
This handsome guy was caught as a stray on Summit Dr., Salinas by the Salinas City animal control. Luckily he came into our program on 5/19/17. He's gentle and well behaved, obviously a family pet at one point. He even started licking one of our volunteers his first day with us!! He is not yet neutered (we will cover that with the adopt fee donation). He would love a quick forever home or a loving safe foster home (we will supply equipment). The sooner we can find him a home, the sooner we can race up to SPCA and save another bunny life !!!
Willow
WILLOW is simply a sheer Bundle of Cuteness! The Salinas City Animal shelter called on our rescue after they received this adorable mini Holland lop female. VET notes: she is 2.8 pounds, appears healthy & young, approx. 4-5 months. She is NOT spayed but we will cover that when she is adopted and schedule as soon as possible. This darlin' will not last long so call NOW if you are a loving forever home (831) 883-1734. She is a little kicker but with mandatory holding, snuggles & kisses, she will adapt to trusting it will all be OK
Monte
MONTE was an owner surrender to our SPCA. He is the most gentle laid back bunny ever, he'll it in your lap forever but also likes to leisurely explore. He will need an attentive human to monitor his eye issues. They are fine for now however we cannot say for sure what the future holds. "This is Monte! He is the sweetest nicest bunny in the whole wide world. He has an older cataract in one eye and the beginnings of a new one in the other. Ophthalmology for animals has seen him, and did not think he needed his eye removed, but it may be a possibility down the road." Monte would like a nice semi quiet safe indoor home. He was neutered prior to becoming a member of our rescue. He does have a tiny quirk, every time he is set down, he thumps :)
Loo Loo
This beautiful brown/white Dutch is available for adoption after we promised to find her a loving home. The following is the email we received: "Hi Lisa She has been living in our kitchen in the hutch with an open area in the front for her to run. She dose not escape because she dose not like to be on the hard bear floor. I will bring her in the cat carrier. I have a pet store cage if you want it to keep her in. I will also bring with her. Her litter tray, food bowls, water bottle, bag of bedding, and her food. I only fed her Oxbow pellets and hay and grass hay. I am real happy knowing she will be in good hands and commend you for all that you do to save the rabbits."
Toppins
TOPPINS is a mini lop, grey and neutered from Santa Clara Shelter. He arrived into our program 4/20/2017 and was healing from multiple bite/battle wounds. Poor guy seemed a tad sad, hopeless. But now that he's got some playtime and yummy bunny food, he's showing his happy side. This guy may be a treat candidate to bond w/a spayed female, we think he'd be living his ultimate dream! Or a safe home and loving family loving family to spoil & pampered and serve him his meals on a routine (bunnies love routine!)
Sly
Poor SLY ! This beautiful boy was an escapee from a local confiscation - he slithered into the neighbors yard who just happened to be a rabbit owner. She caught this sweet boy and cuddled him. He was scruffy & malnourished and had tattered ears due to battling w/other un-neutered males. Lucky guy that he is, he ended up at Monterey County shelter & we raced out to get him as soon as his "stray period" was up. He is so forgiving, he trusted us immediately, like he knew we were going to keep him safe. Well, we have treated him like a king and he is happy as can be. He has a lot of energy so we assume he is young but fully grown. We neutered & micro-chipped him at AFRP Clinic on 4/11/2017. He LOVES to shred cardboard so start saving boxes if you believe this fella is a possible candidate for your family !
Patrick
PATRICK arrived into our program from Monterey county shelter on St. Patrick's day 3/17/2017. He was neutered on 3/22/17 at Avian Exotic clinic and is more than ready to go. Total teenager behavior, tons of energy & extremely entertaining !!! He has beautiful blue eyes, and LOVES people attention but will occasionally nip if he's held too long. 100% awesome happy bunny !
Lily
Lily originally came from a breeder, was adopted quickly 2 years ago and now recently returned (owner personal situation). She is tiny yet full grown and the itty bitty ears are too cute. She is used to being 1000 % SPOILED, handled constantly, and loved beyond words. INDOORS ONLY, no other scary pets because of her size. She would make a perfect bonded bunny, she loves to lick other bunnies. She begs for attention so if you want a new best friend, she's the one! Already spayed.
3 Holland Lop sisters arrived!
2 of these sisters are truly bonded but the 3rd (darkest) is a half sister & can be adopted solo. They came from the Santa Cruz area, were kept safely outside but owner decided they needed better, so she contacted our rescue. They will all be spayed soon (dark was spayed 2/28/2017 at Avian) but they will be at our show Sat. 2/25 at Petsmart, Sand City Puggly is white Kali is her full sister and is peach Maxine (Max) is the half sister to both and she is the darkest (spayed).
Swirl & Twirl
ONLY 2 babies left !!! Brother & Sister (bonded). We received a call with the same theme, "I got a rabbit and it had babies". Here we are, with 5 babies who are 3 mos. old now & ready to leave the nest. They were born near the end of Dec. 2016. The mom will also be ready to retire, finally. Hand raised, used to kids, other pets, very socialized. They are going to be rather medium when adults (not quite dwarfs).
McKinney
This boy is one handful of cuteness. Petite, easy going, playful and loves his food! He came to us from San Jose area Feb. 10th. He is neutered and ready to pack his little bags and move on to a life of luxury. Because he is small, we prefer he live indoors only. Only serious lifetime adopters please. Age unknown but has a lot of happy energy so we're assuming he's young.
Newton
This is one adorable little fella! But as cute as they are, they come with responsibilities. Newton was recently neutered at AFRP Clinic (2/1/2017) so he's ready to roll out of foster and into a forever home. He was cohabiting with our MOCHA bunny girl, but had to be separated to prevent any unwanted litters. He would love a new girl friend & I assume would be fairly easy to bond. He is young and energetic, needs a lot of attention and is an indoor bunny only please.
Mariposa
This lonesome lady, Mariposa, came in as a stray, found on Paradise Road in North County Salinas Jan.12/31/2016. She was dirty, cold, hungry. We scooped her out of her wire cage and brought her into our cushy foster home where she's clean, warm, well fed and SAFE. She is acting extremely grateful towards us, like she's Thanking us. We had her spayed at Avian Exotic clinic 1/25/2017 and she recuperated quickly. Now she needs to begin her next phase of life, people with compassion and love to give her, she has earned it!
Frick & Frack
These 2 brothers are hysterical! They were lucky to safely arrive at Monterey County Animal services who called us during the rain storms in Jan. 2017. They are amazingly clean & friendly boys with lots of happy times ahead of them. They came in as a pair & we always prefer they stay that way but we will consider adopting them as singles, providing they will be considered a member of the household. We call them Lionheads, maybe a mix but their personalities surpass their breed status. Both are very active & happy!
Frankie
We received this email & accepted Frankie on 1/17/2017: "Hi, you were recommended to me by our vet. We live in Santa Cruz we have a 2 year old male rabbit named Rex. We took him in as a foster pet for a friend when he was 2 months old. My two young girls got attached to him. He has now become my pet and responsibility. Unfortunately I feel we need to find him a new home. I've looked at your website and think it might be a perfect fit. " FRANKIE is neutered and friendly, just confused why his life suddenly changed. Give him a month or so, and he'll be all OK again. He is litter box trained, clean, eats very well !
arriving 1/21 Petsmart Sand City
arriving at show Jan 21st at 11am if you are interested !
Baylor
BAYLOR came from Salinas City shelter 1/17/2017 and was neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on Jan. 25, 2017. This poor guy came into our rescue malnourished, covered w/fleas & mites, dirty and sad. He's a lucky fella though, he will now be spoiled, clean and fed delicious salads 2x a day. He's very laid back, doesn't require a lot of anything except love, comfort & safety. Not sure of his age but 3-5 years maybe? Great lap bunny or a new husbun for a lonely spayed female?
Hoppity
HOPPITY came from Salinas City shelter on 1/17/2017 and was neutered at AFRP Clinic on 1/25/2017, not a minute too soon for us as he had A LOT of spunk & non stop energy! He is the cutest little guy, light beautiful golden brown with a white nose to draw attention to himself. He LOVES attention all the time. Now that he's neutered, he may mellow out a tad but he is apparently young & very entertaining. Kinda a trouble maker in my opinion! He's not afraid of anything, would adapt to kids, dogs, cats etc. If you want instant fun, Hoppity is your guy!
Poppy
POPPY is a medium size black generic bunny. Spayed & microchipped, she stands out because of her SWEET, GENTLE, CLEAN personality. She came to us from our Monterey SPCA on Jan. 17, 2017. She's an instant "ready to go" bunny who has NO past baggage (behavior issues). We just want her in a forever home as she has been moved around. Please keep an open mind and meet her, she'd love to show you how easy bunnies can be!
Chopper (aka Chops)
"Hi, my name is Chopper. I'm about 5 years old. I'm friendly & potty trained. When my mom brought me home, I was over weight and was put on a diet, which I'm still on. I'm friendly and love to go outside and hide in gardens. I also enjoy hiding behind the couch and just relaxing. I enjoy playing with wrapping paper rolls, I love Christmas lol. Unfortunately my mom can no longer keep me because her landlord said so." She contacted Rescue Rabbits Rock and they promised to take me in, love me, spoil me and find the perfect new home with a family that will love me forever. I'm ready to go anytime!
Kevin
KEVIN is a gorgeous neutered taupe REX is being surrendered - he is approx. 4 years old. He is neutered and house/potty trained. Please inquire if you are looking for a friendly happy well adjusted new friend!
Chocolate chip
Chocolate Chip is a 5-6 yr old female Chocolate Otter REX - retired show/breeder bunny we accepted into our rescue 1/6/2017. This beautiful girl has adapted to her new easy lifestyle but still has a tiny fear of being mishandled. She needs a quiet home where she is the center of attention. She enjoys her once a day treat of apple & banana, a fresh dark leafy salad and her bed treat of a small banana chip. She's eager to let her guard down, doesn't have a mean bone in her body, just longs for pets & love (preferably on your lap on the couch). Her velvet soft Rex fur is extremely therapeutic for her future human = Instant relaxation! She's super clean, even her potty box is clean !!! Chocolate Chip was spayed at Avian Exotic Clinic 2/21/2017.
Itty Bitty Betty
1 year old female Blue Himalayan Netherland Dwarf Was a breeder/show bunny surrendered to our rescue 1/6/2017. She was spayed 1/9/2017 at AFRP Clinic. She's the easiest, cleanest sweetheart ever!
Ricochete
We received a plea for help: "Hi Lisa, I am not from Monterey County but I visit the area often. I have a black n white rabbit. I found her and no one wanted her. I have two rescue dogs, a small backyard, and knew little about rabbits, so attempted to educate myself online. She is not spayed. Quite honestly, she is 4 years old and I didn't think a rabbit's life expectancy would go much further than 4 years, yet she is thriving, well mannered and healthy. My problem is we are moving and I just found out that the home we are buying has a two pet minimum. I am not happy about this. I have not kept Ricochete in a cage, with exception at night to keep her safe from predators. I really do care about Ricochete and she trusts me, so it is important that I find someone that is dedicated to her. I feel heart broken...I have never abandoned an animal, (not one that I have taken in). She sits on my feet when I read outside, and I could swear that she almost knows how to fetch a stick (sort of), it's a game we play...I chase her, she chases me. Do you have a space for her? Or....can you point me in a direction that can help? Thank you for your time." She arrived 12/28/2016 into our program from Oakdale, CA. and will be spayed Jan. 5th 2017 at Avian Exotic clinic. She is BIG weighing in at 11 pounds. She would THRIVE in a garden safe yard during day & inside at night. Not afraid of Dogs & cats & kids!
Lillie May
We have BIG hearts! Lillie May came to our rescue from SPCA where she was spayed at Nov. 30th 2016. Now we are looking for someone with a heart as big as ours so she can live a carefree life. Please consider this beautiful girl, all she longs for is love. She's a medium/large Gray/white female, approx 2-3 years old. She is extremely clean, potty box trained but would prefer being a house free roamer w/garden privileges. She requires a slice of fresh banana as well as kale & Italian Parsley. She waits every morning for her bite size of apple and fresh hay. She has no past "issues" and is comfortable being around multiple cats. She may even like dogs but she seems lonely.
King Tut
This handful of fur is heart melting! The cutest litl' thing ever, we rescued from Yolo County Sheriff Animal Services. He was found as a stray, out on the streets in West Sacramento, then eventually transferred to our rescue in Monterey County. He was neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on 12/15/2016. He is an indoor only bunny and we expect him to be catered to his every whim. Age unknown, but we are guessing young. He is quite healthy & in excellent condition considering his surviving out on the streets. He has no resentment whatsoever, sweet as ever!
Thelma & Louise
These 2 sweet sisters were rescued by the Salinas City Animal shelter. Poor things were starving, underweight, dirty. We brought them into our rescue 12/10/2016, cleaned them up and fed them delux baby bunny meals. They are spayed (AFRP Clinic) and micro-chipped. They are terrified of the vacuum cleaner, but otherwise, sweet happy loving little girls. They are in potty box training so they will need a little patience & guidance. Amazingly, there isn't a mean bone in their body! INDOORS ONLY please.
Bethany
Baby girl Bethany, brought to Salinas City shelter on 11/22/2016 and transferred to our program 12/2/2016. She is a doll!! Not spayed Yet, she can be adopted now and we will cover her spay later when she's a bit bigger. She has a cool Mohawk Lionhead sprout of hair between her ears, but the rest of her is shorthair. She will be debuting at Petsmart, Sand City Dec. 3rd from 11am-3pm
KoKo Puff Ball
KoKo Puff Ball is an absolute doll! Squishy, friendly, happy & CLEAN. Appears to be young although she is an adult. She came into the SPCA back in July 2016. She's been caged up ever since, until now. She is READY to move into her own house, would make a great "Free Roamer" or have an Xtra large condo. She's the perfect bunny for families with kids, dogs & cats! She was spayed back in July 2016 so she's ready for a husbun if you have a lonely neutered fella. Not sure, but she may be micro-chipped too. She was an owner surrender, her previous owner's daughter was having severe allergic reactions to their bunnies, and decided to give them them up. She is very sweet & really likes her head scratched and eating yummy dark leafy green salads. Loves her hay too!
Stormy
"We found these two girls, STORMY & SNOWY, abandoned on the side of a busy road next to a corner house. My daughter & I stopped and talked to the old lady that lived at the house. She said that the bunnies had been there awhile living under a bush eating cherries that had fallen off an old cherry tree. They were very skinny and full of fleas." STORMY is looking for a new home and would make a great bunwife since she was separated from her sister, Snowy. She loves to lick/clean other bunnies so if you have any lonesome bunny, Stormy would be ideal! She is super clean and as easy as can be. We want her to be spoiled for the rest of her life, she's earned the right!
Sam
Sam is LARGE with BLUE EYES, was being sold on Craigslist down in King County where one of our concerned bunny ladies saw & saved him. Of course we took him in and he is amazing! He will be neutered at Avian 11/22/2016, but he is ready to be adopted now. He's quite a busy guy, loves to shred cardboard so toys are required. He loves dogs & was raised with a small child. He's a "ready to go" guy, isn't shy or "damaged" in any way!!! Approx. 2 years YOUNG.
Shimmy Boy
Watch this beautiful boy who was either born with deformed spine or endured Trauma at some point: https://youtu.be/7_peFHQGYBU. He is wonderful, potty trained, eats anything except Italian Parsley (he just started to eat this too, but slowly). UPDATE: In a short month, with a full belly and a warm home, SHIMMY has BLOOMED and RECOVERED 99% This fella is an amazing recovery story that warms my heart. He binkies endlessly, hops up & down off the couch - has NO disability whatsoever ! He LOVES to be held, pet, kissed, snuggled. I cannot help but believe he is Thanking us for rescuing him from being all alone cold on the streets, injured, starving & dragging his hind legs. Sometimes it's them that teaches us, to believe ! Shimmy was neutered Jan. 12th 2017 at Avian Exotic clinic.
PanCake, LAST baby from Eureka Rescue
Delivered into our program on 11/6/2016 all the way from Eureka, CA. A litter of 3 babies were Born around Oct 8th 2016. They were about 14 days when they were rescued & kept in a temporary foster home. Dad remained in Eureka. Mom is still waiting to be spayed but she is available too. ONLY ONE LEFT !!!! A baby boy we named PANCAKE. He is not yet neutered (too young) but we will cover that expense when he is ready. He bloomed into a gorgeous caramel colored ANGORA, handled constantly since birth, VERY CUDDLY & SWEET!
Feather
Oh the sweetness of this poor little girl! She NEEDS a human more than ever, she longs for comfort, safety, calm, love & INDOOR ONLY accommodations! She arrived as a stray at our Salinas City shelter, with an injured eye & was nothing but skin & bones. Within one week in our care, she has a full belly & 1/2 way improved eye (ongoing meds for now). IF anyone has a heart and love to give, this petite angel needs you. Age unknown and her spay date is 11/22/2016 at Avian
Ginny
Meet Ginny! A young mini lop approx. 5 mos old, was surrendered to the Sacramento SPCA on 10/14/2016. She was transported to our rescue by an amazing crew of women.. She was spayed at Avian Exotic Clinic on our historic election day, 11/8/2016. We do know she is a bit hard to handle, does kick when held so she prefers for you to get on her level. We have been working with her and she is actually tolerating us picking her up and holding now! She has a lot of energy and LOVES to race around so she requires mandatory playtime. Eats extremely good and is currently in potty box training (We need to use 2 potty boxes). I'd say she's a rebellious teenager at this point with great potential pending human intervention. Now that she is spayed, she has calmed down quite a bit. Still cute as a button !
Mario
This handsome laid back dude arrived 10/224/2016 from the Sacramento SPCA. He is neutered & micro-chipped, approx. 1-2 yr old. As he settles in, we will update more about his personality, dislikes & likes!
Phoebe
This stunning friendly Lionhead was found as a stray in Salinas CA. and no one claimed her so she is now at "home" with Rescue Rabbits Rock. We will have her spayed as soon as possible but if you are anxious to adopt, we can arrange that! She is the friendliest sweetest Lionhead ever and will be quickly adopted so email or call now if you are seriously interested. She will be at Petsmart, Sand City this Sat. from 11am-3pm or private meeting can be arranged by calling (831)883-1734. Age unknown but looks clean, healthy and young but full grown.
Leah
Meet Leah! This beautiful gentle girl was an owner surrender we accepted. She is approx 3 years old and is the sweetest, cleanest, easiest bunny ever. She was spayed & micro-chipped at AFRP clinic on Oct. 19th, 2016 & is a chocolate brown/white Dutch. The owner has had this sweetheart since she was a baby, and wanted to make sure she finds a perfect loving home. We promised we will keep her until that happens. In the meantime she is lounging about living a deluxe bunny life in a foster home where she is safe, healthy & well cared for. Email or call us if you would like to meet her!
Lucky
My name is LUCKY. I'm pint sized (3-4 pounds) and fearless of cats. I am a neutered male, white and black Dwarf Hotot. I was neutered at Santa Maria on 9/30/2016 The shelter staff think I am about 6 months old. I arrived at RRR on 10/4/2016

Java
From Santa Barbara County, 2 baby sisters arrived in our care on 9/15/2016. They are both scheduled to be spayed & micro-chipped 9/29/2016 at AFRP Clinic. They are used to being around other bunnies (their litter mates) so they would be a great choice for bonding. JAVA here is the sweeter of the two, where JADA has more gusto for adventure. Both love a slice of banana, Kale, Italian Parsley and are already eating Orchard/Timothy hay. Both are adorable, their mom was quite petite so we assume these girls will remain 3-4 pounds when fully grown. Can be adopted now!
Priscilla
Just arrived from Salinas City shelter, our newest baby girl Chinchilla lop ! She has been living with our Handsome HARRISON
Jada
From Santa Barbara County, 2 baby sisters arrived in our care on 9/15/2016. Both were spayed & micro-chipped 9/29/2016 at AFRP Clinic. JADA developed a Head Tilt but is FULL of life, her Head Tilt doesn't slow her down at all :) She needs a home, with a ground level X pen set up. She eats PLENTY, Potty trained PERFECTLY and LOVES to race around, Bless her Heart! SOMEONE who needs to love something, this girl is truly a gift waiting for you! She tested NEGATIVE for E cuniculi. See how HAPPY & Healthy she is: https://youtu.be/86kdaYtTu9c
Rocket
This adorable Silver Martin came all the way from Santa Barbara County in the chance we could find him a forever home. He is neutered and approx. a whoppin' 4 pounds. We are estimating age 1year or younger. He is a super sweet gentle fella, clean and beautiful. He may be lonely so either a bunny friend or human to love him would be our highest hopes!
Noodles and Spaghetti
These 2 bunnies fell in love instantly & we really HOPE they will be adopted together! The family who had them separated & the bunnies were surrendered back to our program. NOODLES is the white male, SWEET as apple Pie! SPAGHETTI, a black fuzzy Angora mini lop is the female. We shaved her down to remove her knotted fur. The new parent would HAVE to keep her groomed! Both are spayed/neutered, potty trained, friendly, frisky, healthy 1 years olds. Two is so much easier than one! They share everything so no need to double supplies.
Jester and Jaxx
These 2 baby siblings also came all the way from Santa Maria shelter in Southern CA. up to our rescue. Absolutely cutest babies on earth ! Both are boys and came from our adopted Jolie. They can be adopted as singles providing they will receive the most human attention possible. They are neutered & READY for YOU!
Elon
Our hearts break for this amazing boy, who came to us from Santa Maria shelter in Santa Barbara County. This 8 month old (neutered) sweetheart was found near a busy road, refusing to leave the dead body of his litter mate. Sniff sniff. This touched our hearts on the deepest level, so the adopter he chooses must be the most compassionate ever. Maybe a single girl could mend his broken heart? He is still in the teenage spam requiring lots of play time, toys to chew, and fresh daily salads. Only serious humans with HUGE hearts need apply !
LACE
This gorgeous Lionhead arrived at the Salinas City shelter in Aug 2016. She is soon to be spayed but can be adopted now. She has a tad of a fiesty spirit when you invade her cage space, but otherwise she is a happy girl! Age unknown (approx 1 yr?)
Only 2 girl BABY REX bunnies left !
Our baby Rex bunnies are READY to find new homes! They will be ready to pick up and adopt as of Aug. 27th at 8 weeks old. Back on June 30th late afternoon, we received a somewhat frantic call from our County shelter, "we have a brown bunny that just came in & is about to have babies". We rushed out and sure enough a gorgeous taupe Rex was "nesting". We packed her up & transferred her to a safe foster house. By midnight, 4 beautiful baby Rexes were born. Official birthday is July 1st 2016.
Peggy Sue
This beautiful girl (one of 3) has had a rough beginning and NEEDS a compassionate human to give her the love she deserves. There's nothing more rewarding than to adopt an animal and watch them bloom into a loving trusting HAPPY pet. If you have ANY compassion for animals, this girl needs you! Already spayed, she comes from a bay Area hoarding situation. She has become an absolute doll in the short time we've had her. And the bent ear tip on one ear due to injury, makes her CUTE & proves you can over come previous battles! She is a survivor !!!

We were more than willing to set him up in a safe, comfy pen w/toys & tunnels. He was hungry but not scared at all. It's like he was grateful & knows we are his saviors. He LOVES people. He longs to be held and eats just about anything we offer. We're working on some potty manners but that's not a concern & will come in time. He's looking for a committed home and when he's older, we will cover his neuter surgery. Age approx. 2 months

Oliver
Meet our new big boy OLIVER! he's been living' a great life but owners sadly had to move and we were happy to help him find a new home. He's quite spoiled! He's used to frolicking in a safe garden, and taking long lazy naps and then more lazy naps. He's a neutered/micro-chipped 3 yr. old Californian who loves Parsley and fresh hay. He'd prefer to be a free roamer (when he is awake!). Super easy laid back bunny great for families w/small kids, dogs, cats.
Boomerang
My name is BOOMERANG and I came all the way from the King County Animal shelter last Sat 6/11/2016. I'm lucky I got there becuz I was then transferred to Monterey County, into the AFRP's Rescue Rabbits Rock Program. I LIKE IT !!!! They are cleaning me up, feeding me the best hay & produce ever and they LOVE me !!!! They promised to keep me forever or until they find the right person. I'm young, I'm patient, I'll wait and know someday, some one will adopt me. I'm just a snuggle sugar pie, easy & clean as can be. I'd make a great lap bunny! If you want to meet me, just drop Lisa a note ! Neutered & micro-chipped on 8/23/16 at AFRP Clinic.
Apollo
Ahhhhhhh those beautiful blue eyes ! This sweetheart arrived along with Aquarius & Boomerang from the King County Animal shelter. He's just a baby, too young to neuter but ready to move into his forever after home. He was on the list to be euthanized along w/his friends, but the RRR team just couldn't let that happen. Even though we are quite full, we had to help! He is currently at Petsmart in Sand City so you can stop by anytime to meet him. He's a cuddler already and potty trained. Approx. 2 mos. old. SEE how cute I am: https://www.facebook.com/lisa.redmond.90/videos/10201989021883197/
Aquarius
This sweet as apple Pie in the sky baby girl is simply a dream! Silky baby soft fur, logs for love and attention all the time! She's even potty trained herself! She came from King County Animal Shelter on 6/11/2016 with 2 others (Apollo & Boomerang). We would love to get her into her forever home ASAP so she can learn a routine early in life. She was micro-chipped & spayed at AFRP Clinic on 6/13/2016.We are guessing she is approx. 3 mos. old and will be petite/medium when an adult. We are cautiously observing, Aquarius MAY have a condition called "Mega Colon" which creates unusual poop sizes. Please google this condition if you are interested in learning more. We prefer a rabbit savvy adopter so they can monitor her diet carefully to keep her health under control.
Flash & Frosty
This young couple are bonded and prefer to be adopted together. We received this plea email: " I have two bunnies that I need to surrender. One female and one male. I can send you pictures of them if you like. Like I read on your web site, my daughter bought these rabbits for her kids and the kids lost interest in them. We feel that they need a better home and to be given the attention that they need. They are about 4 months old and are very cute. They need to roam free and have a place where they can hop and play and not be left in a hutch. Please let me know if we can surrender them to you. Thank You, ". Of course we helped & are enjoying their cute energtic teenage antics! They were spayed & neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on 6/16/16 Both have a lot of energy so beware !!!!!
Hunter
We picked this happy young fella up from the Salinas City Shelter on June 4th, 2016. He is just about as cute, happy, friendly as they come! He looks to have a tad of Lionhead tuffs of hair on his face, time will tell! His neuter appt. is 6/9/16 at our AFRP Clinic, which means he'll be ready to roll on outta here anytime after. Anyone have a little room in their homes & hearts ? HUNTER - ID#A093615 Was brought to shelter May 14, 2016. He acts & feels like a YOUNG baby boy.
KaBob
We are proud to present our new boy, KaBob! He just arrived from King County Animal shelter after a 2 1/2 hr drive to save his life. We could not let him be euthanized as he is the sweetest litl healthy cute fella. He is housed w/another, Peabody, the all white petite female posted above, from same shelter. Both can be adopted together or as singles. They are just about as sweet as can be. Arrived on 5/19/2016, KaBob will be neutered on 6/9/2016 at AFRP Clinic.
Paco
Just arrived, found on street! beautiful male, was starving but is currently safe and being well cared for. Paco is a beautiful mix of multi brown coloring and is a happy clean doll! He's SWEET and GORGEOUS, loves to explore and fearless He was recently neutered and micro chipped somewhere, possibly a shelter out of our area. We're guessing he was an Easter bunny that was released to be free.
Mabel
What can we say about Mabel? She is awesome, super sweet and very friendly. She loves to sit on your lap and let you pet her, she loves it when you play with her ears. She is very inquisitive and loves to roam around. She wants to be a "house pet" not one that has to be in a pen. She can also be quite a pain...she needs to be the center of attention or can be a little destructive. I think she would do best as a single family bunny. She is great around kids and dogs.
Rascle
This beautiful Chocolate brown and white boy is a ball of energy! Be prepared to let him frolic for hours of endless entertainment! Neutered & microchipped 4/11/2016 at AFRP Clinic. He came into Salinas City shelter 3/26/2016 and we picked him up in to our program 4/6/2016.
Duncan
I am STINKIN' CUTE !! I am officially a Rescue Rabbits Rock intake, my name is DUNCAN. I'm a juvenile boy, neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on 4/22/2016 so I am ready to Rock on into a wonderful world! I came all the way from the Placer County, CA. Shelter and arrived in Monterey 4/4/2016. Thanks to Second Chance Bunny Rescue for helping me be safe! I'm a happy energetic boy, I need to play so you'll have to supply me with toys and "out" time everyday. I love my hay and parsley, kale, collard greens, but a bite size slice of banana really makes me happy!
ALOHA and ALANAH
ALOHA and ALANAH fell asleep during photo shoot. These 2 baby siblings are so cuddly and sweet! Approx. 4-6 mos. young, one a female (Alanah) and the other a male (Aloha). The BEST ! Rescued from Salinas City Shelter 4/6/2016. They were caught in a ladies yard Sunday & taken to shelter to be safe, and now they are with our program to be pampered and spoiled until they find their forever home. They can be adopted as singles, providing there will be plenty of human love supplied! They simply the most squishy bundles of love & a tremendous entertaining duo. They love love love food! Especially their nightly slice of banana. ALOHA was neutered on 4/22/2016 and ALANAH was spayed on 5/25/2016, both at Avian Exotic Clinic.
Cleopatra
Here's info from her former owner: " She is a pure bred SR Dutch Doe, black. She has a pedigree. She will only ever be a 3rd place rabbit. She likes to be scratched behind the eyes. Her favorite veggies are apples, carrots and broccoli." This beauty was spayed & Micro-chipped on April 11th, 2016 at the AFRP Clinic. She has recouped and is ready for a new, no more breeder cage home! If you are ready to SPOIL one or 2 of our rescues, email or call us today !
O'Reilly
O'REILLY - ID#A092751 My name is O'reilly and I am a male, brown Shorthaired Rabbit The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 7 months old.. I have been at the shelter since Feb 25, 2016.
Cosmo
This super HAPPY Rex male was brought into shelter, obviously a pet at some point. Completely people friendly, potty trained and a sheer delight! Entertaining to say the least. He was micro-chipped & neutered at the AFRP Clinic on 2/8/2016. He's full of energy so beware !!!! He comes with his toys: https://youtu.be/q2N-K8nz4Rk
Stella
This lovely lady was in need of a new home so we decided to help her out. She is stunning! She was recently spayed on 2/1/16 and is fully recovered and ready for the next chapter of her life. She's used to being a free roaming house girl, super tidy and loves her produce. She is gentle & people friendly so she prefers to be where the action is!
Pollie
I'm approx 3 years old now, female and was micro-chipped & spayed at AFRP on 2/18/2016. I was forced to have litters before and am done with that forever! I am a former "breeder" bunny who was no longer useful. Unfortunately I ended up in another place where they bred me again! We promised her we will never ever let that happen ever again.I would like to retire into a relaxing safe comfortable home where humans adore me, pamper me and let me RELAX. Please consider me, I will not disappoint you, just give me a chance! Luckily AFRP Rescue Rabbits Rock cared about me & my future.
Chantilly
We received an message on our FaceBook page: "Hi, I recently picked this rabbit off the street A neighbor said she's been feeding it for weeks in her yard. I've been calling around and knocking on doors but no one has claimed her. She's very good with our dogs but we simply can't keep her. The shelter here is a kill shelter and since cats pretty much have no chance there, I doubt she does either. Is there any help you can offer?" Of course we had to help! So here she is, forever SAFE until we find her the perfect loving family! CHANTILLY was micro-chipped & spayed at AFRP on Feb.18, 2016.
Zorro
This is as big as he's gunna be! Zorro came in as a surrender (along w/Zonkers) both bought at a fair. Owners left them outside in a hutch and eventually lost interest. Luckily they reached out to us and we took them in, got both of them neutered and micro-chipped and they are now residing in foster homes. We just need to find them their own families. Zorro is a sweet, laid back litl' guy, doesn't really know how or what a spoiled house bunny is, so we are teaching him. He's approx. 1year old as of Feb. 2016. He's learning what fresh produce is and hasn't a clue what apples or bananas are YET! We found a tattoo in his ear, meaning he was purposely bred, then unfortunately, not wanted. We request he gets an indoor home only. He LOVES to cuddle with humans, WATCH: https://youtu.be/8xLwBWh9lfA
Zonkers
Meet ZONKERS, a medium size black/brown lop who is just the happiest guy ever! He's potty trained, loves to eat anything, explores anywhere, nothing phases him! He's approx. 3yrs old & was bought at a fair. He was an owner surrender, we just had him neutered & micro-chipped at AFRP clinic 2/8/2016
Carlita
This beautiful gentle sweet girl was a surrender from "a concerned" neighbor. She was left in a small wire bottomed cage and in unclean conditions. her diet was wrong which caused some messes bit she is all cleaned up and being properly cared for in our foster care system. She is the sweetest thing on Earth! Age unknown but appears young. Spay: Avian March 2, 2016 at Avian Exotic Clinic
Mr. Wrinkles
Mr. Wrinkles is an petite REX male rescued from the 17 Monterey County Animal services that were dumped out on Old Stage Rd., Salinas on Nov. 3, 2015. We were contacted to help, along with Friendly Farms Rescue and between us, we were able to pull all the bunnies out and temporary place into foster care. Many are adorable & ready to be adopted, a few are recovering from "battle wounds". We are hoping to pull some heart strings and get these deserving bunnies into warm safe homes so they can enjoy their lives. Please consider saving a beautiful bunnies dreams, loving them and watch how they adapt to caring humans! He was neutered and micro-chipped at AFRP Clinic on Dec. 10th 2015. He has learned to trust and melts when you give him head massages & kisses! He was one that all the others kept beating up on. He is 100% OK health wise, and he is blooming into a fantastic FUN Happy boy! I do call him my litl ugly duckling (in a cute way), but all he longs for is love & pets. We named him Mr. wrinkles because he is a Rex and has the cutest wrinkles around his belly.
Ellie May
This LUCKY squishy girl was rescued by a caring human arriving home one eve near Tassajara CV Calif.. He spotted her, caught her ( NO easy task) and set her up in his home. We decided to take her into our rescue as she did have a neck wound, which required surgery at Avian Exotic Clinic. She was spayed at same time and will be recuperating in a foster home until the right home chooses her. She is full grown, nice and round & gentle as can be. Potty box trained, happy and even seems to be showing her gratitude towards us for keeping her safe. She's a light colored Harlequin and may be a good candidate for bonding. AGE unknown but is fully grown.
Kori
KORI is one of the babies rescued from the 17 Monterey County Animal services that were dumped out on Old Stage Rd., Salinas on Nov. 3, 2015. Unfortunately she was pregnant & gave birth to 3 babies but she was too young to care for them & they didn't survive. Heartbreaking for her & us. But the good news is she is fine & we were able to pull all the bunnies out and temporary place into foster care. Many are adorable & ready to be adopted, a few are recovering from "battle wounds". We are hoping to pull some heart strings and get these deserving bunnies into warm safe homes soon. Please consider saving a beautiful bunnies dreams, loving them and watch how they adapt to caring humans! KORI is petite and will not ever be very large. She is transitioning beautifully! She was micro-chipped & spayed at AFRP Clinic on Feb. 18th, 2016.
Chili
"Poor baby she's shaking, going to get her all snuggled up in some warm fleece. She was outside in this cold weather. Her little boy human didn't pay attention to her and the family dog tried to eat her." Thanks to one of our volunteers with a huge heart filled with compassion, she will be safe, warm and happy now. She loves cuddling! Spayed and in need of an indoor only home!
Puddles
This cuddle bun was surrendered, after it was being kept outside in a hutch. He is a Netherland dwarf and owner is simply not home enough. It's getting too cold for such a sweet boy & we dislike a hutch as a place for a domestic bunny. So here he is, ready to fill some humans heart with love! He's approx. 4 yrs old and weighs a mere 2.4 pounds. He does cuddle with people & dogs. He needs an INDOOR home only. he loves his salads and toys. We were told he is neutered & appears to be!
Freya
Freya is a medium lop eared rabbit with beautiful markings. She came from the Sacramento County shelter Nov. 16th already spayed. She is probably approx. 2-5 years old. When out in the exercise pen for daily binky practice, Freya seems to enjoy lying next to another rabbit through the exercise pen. We hope she will have another rabbit friend in her forever home as that would be very comforting for her. She nipped her foster mom so she will need some time to trust humans again. She's had too much change in the past month and needs a safe routine & gentle humans to help her be a happy girl again.
Princess Leia
Princess Leia, a beautiful little female Lionhead, is looking for a new home, somewhere she can run around and have plenty of space. Owner surrender was not able to provide her with the best living situation at the moment. She is an INDOOR bunny ONLY. She does not like being kept in an enclosed cage, she needs to either be able to run around or have an x-pen. She is litter box trained and spayed. Princess Leia was found on the street next to an old apartment. She is very gentle, and has become quite a little love bug! Age unknown.
FANG
This lucky boy is a "breeder" bunny reject. sadly for him, not show quality. We don't like what happens to them when they aren't good enough for breeders so we try to save them because we LOVE the "rejects"! This litl'boy is already neutered and dying to have a home so he can frolic about, eat healthy & play safely. He's full grown yet petite approx. 10 mos. old now. It's hard to have a bad day when you have a face like this needing you!
Juliet
This beautiful lop came from a Craig's listing in the San Jose area. She was spayed 12/22/2015 at Avian Exotic Clinic As you can see, she's a relaxed laid back lady but does have a wild side! She is currently in a foster home but it's a very temporary situation, we would love to have her find a forever family asap! More info as we learn her personality but for the time being, she loves to have space to sprawl out. She was bonded and would like a new boyfriend!
Rocky
Talking about luck of all time, this tiny baby came into our Salinas City Shelter late afternoon on Wed. Nov. 25th, 2015. He was in need of medical care immediately. The vets were closed for Thanksgiving & the shelter was closed for the next day. We pulled all our pleas out & within an hour, had him in a home w/3 volunteers to assess his condition. Our "nurse" volunteer took him home & immediately treated an apparent eye swelling and general weakness. After spending all night treating him, Next day he showed improvement. She spent most her Thanksgiving pampering him, hand feeding critical care and arranged a vet appt. for Fri. AM. He is now thriving and on his way to being a healthy happy baby. We named him ROCKY for his shaky situation but he is now ready to move on to a compassionate human who will provide him anything he needs/wants! Litl Boy ROCKY was neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on 12/30/2015. He is a cuddler & will need a human to give him the time he deserves.
Rover
MEET ROVER, a lucky bunny boy! Monterey County Animal services rescued 17 rabbits that were dumped out on Old Stage Rd., Salinas on Nov. 3, 2015. We were contacted to help, along with Friendly Farms Rescue and between us, we were able to pull all the bunnies out and temporary place into foster care. Many are adorable & ready to be adopted, a few are recovering from "battle wounds". We are hoping to pull some heart strings and get these deserving bunnies into warm safe homes so they can enjoy the holidays. Please consider saving a beautiful bunnies dreams, loving them and watch how they adapt to caring humans! ROVER was neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on Dec. 21st.
Raisin
My name is RAISIN and I am adorable! However I am a tad high maintenance due to my Angora fuzzy hairdo, which I require combing and occasional shaving to up keep. I am an indoor bunny only and would love to be where the action is, so providing me with stimulating activity is a must! I am still a baby approx 4 mos. old & I am still learning my potty box manners but that will improve with time. But I LOVE to eat: Kale, Parsley, Hay, maybe an occasional raisin for a treat. Bananas are a favorite nightly snack !!! If you have the time to groom me, I'm ready to move in! I will be spayed in a few months when I am a little older.
Harrison
HARRISON is one of 17 rabbits caught & brought to our County shelter in early Nov. 2015. They do not provide for rabbits so rescue was needed asap. We took 6 for now and they are all in process of getting cleaned up, neutered/spayed & on proper diets. This fella is amazing! We let him out to play on the porch and he spent 1/2 hour flying about doing endless Binkies!!! When put back in pen, he immediately flopped on his side and napped for 2 hours. He has interesting beautiful coloring, a dark brown/black ticked fur, simply gorgeous ! Harrison was neutered & micro-chipped on Dec.10th 2015 at the AFRP clinic. Age unknown but full grown, medium size, very playful, friendly, people lover. He has been living w/our beautiful Priscilla Lop.
PopTart (Rex)
POP TART on YouTube: https://youtu.be/oqRNik__Ppo My name is Pop tart and I am a male, white and tan Rex The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old.. I have been at the shelter since Oct 21, 2015. We picked up this silky soft Rex boy and had him neutered & micro-chipped on Nov. 18, 2015 He is super sweet and super "obese" so he needs a bunny weight loss program immediately! (update: PopTart has since lost a Lot of weight!) He is absolutely gorgeous, sweet as apple pie and just wants to kick back, relax and lounge! Great therapy bunny, he will instantly help you wind down & relax after a busy day !
Serena
Gorgeous large female REX came into Salinas City shelter Nov. 13th, 2015 We were concerned she may be pregnant so we had her spayed/micro-chipped immediately on Nov.18th 2015 and found she was NOT. She is just a bit over weight so DIET time! She craves cuddling but is also independent so we want to find her a home with a person can provide a lot of time with her. She is currently in a fabulous foster home so if you are interested in meeting her, we can arrange a date!
Kangaroo
Say hello to Rescue Rabbits Rock newest surrender. He's one cute cuddly boy! We think he may be part flemish giant. He has some big thumpers! He was part of the group of bunnies dumped in a parking lot along with Cowboy and Kola near a busy street in San Jose. Someone offered to take him in but later decided it was best to give him to us. Knowing that Kola and Cowboy had great loving personalities we hopped on the opportunity to take him in! He is adjusting to spending part of his day in a pen. He enjoys play time very much. He would rather be a free roaming house bunny. We are still getting to know him and will update his bio as we learn new things about him, but everyday this character proves what a clown he is! Doesn't mind kids, dogs, cats and even LOVES people! You can scoop him up and he doesn't seem to have a care in the world. Again like Kola, someone will have to convince me they will love him more than I before I can hand him over. He was neutered Oct. 29th, 2015 and micro-chipped at AFRP Clinic.
Vienna
We know almost nothing about this lonely beautiful girl! She seems sad and we're HOPING to find her a husbun to cheer her up. She is perfectly find, eats, poops etc., she just seems sad. We believe she is approx. 2 years old and we had her spayed at Avian Exotic Clinic on Oct.7 2015. She loves to explore but would love a cuddler for her cage time.
CowBoy
This beautiful soft tan/brown fella is amazingly a cuddle bun. He was neutered/micro-chipped at AFRP and is now recovering in foster care. He is also one very lucky bunny who arrived into our program along with KOLA. Their story: I received a semi frantic call from Davita Dialysis Clinic in San Jose Oct.16th from a worker who noticed some rabbits were dumped at their property (near a main street). This special woman carefully rounded up some co workers & captured 4 bunnies. It just so happens, one of our caring volunteers lives nearby, so he rushed over, took them home, then drove an hour down to Monterey early the next morning. Both are so gentle and content it's amazing but it looks like they were dumped and rescued before any damage was done. Both love exploring the house & playing on my enclosed patio. They are great hay eaters and any produce, Italian Parsley & kale being their favorite so far. Both love a slice of banana & a slice of apple. PS CowBoy was named in memory of a very special famous FaceBook bunny who recently passed. We wanted to honor his life, and this litl guy looks so much like him!
Kola
This beauty instantly stole my heart. She is stunning, exotic, beautiful and talking about some seriously huge ears, WOW. Can't decide if she wants to be a Flop, one ear usually straight up, the other likes to hang down. We believe she's a gentle giant in the making, she is spayed/micro-chipped and is only leaving my care if someone can love her more than I. She is also one very lucky bunny! I received a frantic call from Davita Dialysis Clinic in San Jose Oct.16th from a worker who noticed some rabbits were dumped at their property (near a main street). This special woman carefully rounded up some co workers & captured 4 bunnies. It just so happens, one of our caring volunteers lives nearby, so he rushed over, took them home, then drove an hour down to Monterey early the next morning. We scheduled their spays/neuters immediately (10/15/2015 at AFRP clinic). Kola has the funniest habit of flopping on her side in her litter box and hanging her head over the side to nap. We don't expect to have her available long so if you're thinking about her, Think fast !
Agnes
Meet Agnes! This beautiful Holland Lop recently came into our program on Oct. 10th, 2015. She is approx. 9 months old & has been shuffled around too much. She needs a permanent home so she can get into a routine & be forever happy. She was spayed and micro-chipped at the AFRP Clinic on 10/14/2015. Agnes is a sweet girl but currently dislikes being picked up. We are working with her on that, doing "mandatory" holding sessions 2-3 times a day. She has amazingly improved in a short amount of time showing us she has huge potential!!! She's very clean with her litter box manners but she does like to rearrange her "furniture" in her pen. Once she settles in, she's going to thrive! Call anytime to meet or adopt!
Digby
From the Hollister litters, DIGBY is the litl' trouble maker! He loves to snoop around and stick his nose in other bunny pens (hence the scratch on his forehead)! He's a lover when he's well fed & tired though. The Hollister Rescue shelter we took in on May 7, 2015, DIGBY was approx. 4 weeks old. His momma was unknowingly pregnant and gave birth to a second litter of 6 before we could get her spayed. Luckily we had a fantastic foster mom who took amazing care of both litters. They are friendly, fearless & clean. DIGBY was neutered Oct.1st, 2015 at Avian but is anxious to be adopted as soon as the right person connects with him. We know these bunnies personalities are what most humans are looking for, but the ruby eyes scares so many. They are so magical if you just give them a chance!
Toto and Meribella
Toto is the litl' brown boy who was brought into Salinas City shelter as a stray back in 2013. He was adopted & bonded but his partner died so owners surrendered him back to us, he was depressed. Lucky for him, we had a sweet beautiful spayed lady who was an owner surrender from Aptos, CA. She was already spayed and wanted love, so here we are with 2 very happy bunnies. Both have bloomed into exploring, cuddling, happy bunnies again! They love their hay & produce and will devour apples, grapes, bananas and a few raisins as threats They also love hay cubes for night gnawing. Super clean & easy to care for. They are definitely in love so they must stay together forever!
Skoodles
This lucky lady was brought into the Monterey County shelter along with 3 other stray terrified bunnies. We rescued 2 (Skoodles & Krinkles) and they have relaxed completely, almost Thanking us for saving them. The other pair went to another rescue. Skoodles was spayed & micro-chipped at AFRP Clinic on9/16/2015. She was in early stages of pregnancy but now she is fully recovered & can move on with her own life. She certainly deserves to be relaxed, safe and loved. She will eat nearly any fresh greens offered, LOVES her Orchard Grass timothy hay mixture and any treats (bananas, apples, grapes etc). She was caged w/another bunny so she may be a great bonding bunny candidate. Age approx. 1 year old.
Kneau
This handsome guy came into the Salinas City Shelter as a stray on 8/20/2015. We grabbed him, took him to Avian where he was neutered on 9/22/2015, then placed into our foster home. He is quite a remarkable boy, we're guessing 9 mos of age. He's happy & easy & loves attention, LOTS of attention! He also LOVES his food!! He is on the petite side, approx. 4 pounds & is fully grown. He's got the prettiest ear markings ever !! Available to a loving home anytime.
Cassie
Talk about beautiful! Meet Cassie, one of the Rex bunnies from the Hollister Rescue shelter we took in on May 7, 2015. Cassie was actually born May 16th in our care. Her momma was unknowingly pregnant and gave birth to a second litter of 6 before we could get her spayed. Luckily we had a fantastic foster mom who took amazing care of both litters. They are friendly, fearless & clean. Cassie was spayed Oct.6, 2015 at Avian Exotic Clinic. She is anxious to be adopted as soon as the right person connects with her. This group of bunnies, including CASSIE, are what most humans are looking for, but the ruby eyes scares so many. They are so magical if you just give them a chance!
Mick & Keith
These 2 brothers are approx. 1year 2 months OLD. They both were neutered & micro-chipped at AFRP clinic on 9/16/2015. MICK is the skinnier guy with the "REX" curly whiskers. His brother KEITH has a little bigger belly & normal whiskers. They come from a mixed litter of curly Rexes. These 2 have been hand raised in a foster home since they were born. Their momma, Suzanna was rescued from the Hollister shelter with a litter of new borns. 4 weeks later she gave birth to a second litter of which Mick & Keith came from. They completely TRUST humans to be kind to them so we prefer an indoor safe happy atmosphere to keep them domesticated. They LOVE food, they LOVE to race around & do Binkies. Extraordinarily CLEAN and completely potty box trained. We always prefer bunnies be adopted in pairs, but these are available as solo adoptions. Please contact us if you would like to meet this pair
Bindi
Still considered a baby, approx. 6 mos old and recently spayed in August 2015. We love this cutey but she does require lots of playtime. She is super clean already, wonderful potty box manners and LOVES to shred cardboard! She's already spoiled with slices of bananas & apples & a grape for treats. She is already on a Tim/Orchard hay diet so she is ready & ripe to train into your routine (her routine)! She is a surrender from a 4H project
Holland Lop Femal spayed
Delta Dawn
Delta Dawn was surrendered due to a move overseas where they were unable to take their beautiful girl. Delta Dawn was spayed at Avian & Exotic Clinic on August 6, 2015. The gorgeous Dawn is approximately two years young and full of spunk. She has wonderful potty box habits and keeps her area nice and tidy, she would make a great house bunny in her forever home. She will come a runnin' when she hears the refrigerator open and devours hay! Dawn is in a foster home with dogs and kids and gets along just fine with both. She does not particularly love the picking up part of being held but will melt with nose rubs and settle right on in for some pampering.
holland lop female
Darling
We were lucky enough to get this little cutie here in our rescue. Darling gives kisses and loves people! She is about ten weeks old. She will be spayed when she reaches six months of age but she can be adopted now and grow up giving you her kisses! She was purchased from a breeder and for some crazy reason her new owners did not want her and she was surrendered to us where she is getting the proper nutrition and love she needs. If you think she could hop into your heart give us a call and arrange to meet her!
Chachi
CHACHI arrived at the Salinas City shelter on 7/7/2015 He is petite & sweet & longing to have a home of his own. Super clean and holdable, loves to be loved. He arrived at AFRP program on 7/22/2015 and was neutered & Micro-chipped on August 26th 2015. He has been cohabitating kindly with 4 cats & loves his free time out on patio. Grapes & apple slices are his favorite treat but he goes crazy for a piece of banana! He's super clean, potty box trained and rarely sheds. After his playtime, he'll snuggle for cuddles. He is ready for fostering or adopting now because we certainly need some volunteers to help us give these bunnies love and safety. Who knows how or why they ended up at the shelter, but they are survivors that deserve as much pampering as humanely possible. Call/email if you have an open heart & small space in your home!
Suzanne
If there was ever a bunny that deserved a loving, caring, safe home, this is the ONE! Suzanne was part of a large scale confiscation in Hollister in March of this year. She and her six babies were loose in a yard along with several other bunnies, allowed to breed and run wild with no protection or proper food or shelter. After she was picked up from the Hollister shelter and relaxing in her safe foster home she gave birth to seven more babies while the first six were still nursing. Poor gal was exhausted! Her babes are all grown and she is languishing in her foster home and finally she has learned to trust people and be a wonderful pet. She has curly whiskers and ultra soft Rex fur. If you are think you can provide the above requirements for this beautiful mama let us know! Now that she has recovered from her ordeal we had her spayed on Aug 6th, 2015. She is 100% recuperated and ready to retire!

Whitney
Whitney is a beautiful girl and a fun spirit! Whitney was an owner surrender from the Salinas area. Her owners didn't want to keep her because she was too messy. We asked if she was spayed & they responded: "No, we don't want to spend that much money". So we got Whitney was spayed at AFRP clinic on June 31st 2015 and is clean as a whistle now, great potty box habits and an all around happy girl. You see, she no longer needs to make a mess a build a nest! This is where the value is in adopting! Whitney loves to play in the grass but you must give her a head rub after or she will nudge at you until you do. She has no problem in letting you know its time for attention and she would love her own home with lots of attention. Let us know if you can give her just that!
S'Mores & Honey Dew
Meet S'Mores & Honey dew, a bonded male/female pair we rescued from Sacramento County. They arrived in our program June 29th and we were told they would love to remain a happy couple. HONEY DEW is the full lop, sweet and extremely lively. S'MORES on the other hand (a FLOP REX) is a cuddler, expecting lap pets & attention from humans. They are a fun happy couple, not a mean bone in their furry bodies. We do not know their ages but they devour food, water & hay showing they are healthy stable furballs. I believe they would mesh well w/kids, dogs, cats. It is a fact bunnies in pairs are healthier & happier & MOST evry person who adopts one, comes back shortly for a "friend". It's far easier to adopt a pair so you don't have to go through the bonding process later. (Google Bonding rabbits and you'll see it can be an ordeal).
Corrinne
We picked up CORRINNA at the Salinas Animal Services shelter on June 12, 2015. She was micro chipped & spayed 6/15/2015 at AFRP Clinic. My first impression is how sweet & gentle she is! Her fur is silky soft & clean, obviously a house pet at some point & well cared for. She was found as a stray in Salinas. She has the longest eyelashes !!! This lady is blooming into a fantastic house bunny, loves to be help & around people. Her favorite activity is to rearrange her bunny palace but is not messy at all. We will be getting to know her personality & update when we know more.
Danika
DANIKA came to our rescue along with DELIGHT, same situation with stacked wire bottom cages & outside. We really don't have space but we were able to save 2 of many. This beautiful girl, still too young for her spay surgery, is ready to go now (we will spay her later). She too is a petite Netherland dwarf, we will post more pics soon!
Joey
Meet our most recent surrender, JOEY! We are just getting to know this friendly boy but from what we've seen so far, he loves to be a free roamer. He explores his foster dads home, hops on couches & tables & is starting to learn how to control humans. He came to us by a compassionate couple that found him (or he found them) they took him in. He had some major ear damage requiring drains & surgeries but is OK health wise now. This is why he became a "Flop" earred bunny. He was treated (& neutered) at Avian Exotic Clinic. The more we learn about JOEY, the more we will post. We believe he's young due to his curiosity, oh & he does not like being caged (chews on bars to get out).
Barnaby
Barnaby is a tiny baby approx. 6 weeks old as of June 6th 2015. His momma is quite petite so we expect him to be quite small when fully grown. He came to us from the Hollister shelter after a accidental backyard breeding situation. Momma bunny was brought to shelter w/7 babies and 4 weeks later gave birth to another 7. We quickly removed the males (to prevent further litters) and these 2 brothers (BeanSprout) are available for adoption (BeanSprout was adopted). He was born at the end of April 2015 and neutered July 27, 2015 at AFRP Clinic. Both have been human handled & cuddled to ensure they are friendly house pets as they grow. Both have been with children, dogs, cats and lots of noisy activities so they will know no fear!
Mona
MONA is one of the babies born to MAYA & their story is: This incredible lovely sweet bunny is amazing to find in a shelter whose time to be euthanized was scheduled at 5pm the day we saved her! She gave birth to 6 itty bitty babies 3 days after being surrendered. She took care of every single one ensuring their survival (many momma bunnies will kill their babies in a shelter situation). Then to endure a 6 hour drive down to our rescue program & to actually start licking our hands when we reached in to set up a new clean warm nest box, well, our hearts simply melted! She is a petite gentle loving bunny, for an indoor home ONLY & will be adopted out to the one who melts like we did. Mona is now approx. 3 years old. She was adopted as a tiny baby and recently surrendered back with her mom, Maya.
Dewey
We saved 2 lop brothers from another breeding situation. Their future was in dire need of change, so we offered to help. Both were 8 weeks old as of JUNE 21st, 2014. Chewy was adopted but his brother DEWEY was recently returned to us due to owner moving. Both were neutered in 2014. Dewey is a gorgeous Holland lop, ready for a new beginning in life. He is now approx. 1 year old.
Oal Holland Lop female
Miley
This silver beauty came to our program extremely pregnant. We normally rush our females out to get their spay surgeries but we felt we should not put her through the ordeal this late in the game. Having made this difficult decision, she did indeed give birth to 5 babies 2 days later. What happened next totally saddened us, she refused to care for the babies & kept throwing them out of their nest. Our experienced foster mom kept finding them (some sopping wet) and tried to keep them safe (getting up round the clock, middle of night etc) to help them. We were all devastated to learn none survived. For some reason, Miley did not want her babies. Only Mother Nature can explain. So we are ready to have her spayed soon now, but she is available for adoption now. Miley is an owner surrender from Northern California this May. Miley was let loose in a backyard and some devoted bunny loving neighbors convinced the owner that she did in fact deserve a better life! Her potty box manners are great, she adapted quickly to this and her foster Mom thinks she will make a great house bunny for some lucky people! Miley really, really, really likes her food and will have a tendency to overeat, so lots of fresh hay will be a requirement for this gal! Miley also will require lots of head pets and this sweet girl actually does not mind being held and likes to have some cuddle time daily. If interested please let us know so you can meet this lovely lady!
CrackerJack and PepperCorn
Poor little PEPPERCORN is having a bad hair day! When he came into the Santa Maria shelter on May 16th 2014 he was super skinny with hair matted to his body. He was too thin and in too much pain from the mats to be neutered right away so they waited until he was fattened up and shaved and he was finally up for it on June 4th! On June 6th the lovely shelter volunteers brought him to Rescue Rabbits Rock to ensure he only gets the best home! He is really just a baby at about nine months old. He is now so happy to be feeling good and in a foster home with someone that knows angora bunnies do need a bit of brushing and he has lots of fresh hay and greens. It has taken a couple of days but he is finally thinking us humans can be pretty cool. We want to make sure whoever takes Peppercorn into their home will have to brush him a couple times a week, it doesn't take long and he will love you forever for it! CRACKERJACK: One of Mama Mia's babies: Oh Mama Mia! On January 22, 2014 a very pregnant Mama Mia was dropped off at our city shelter. The shelter called and told us to get ready babies were on their way! We got to the hay barn and stocked up on alfalfa and picked up Mama Mia and her five babies. CrackerJack was spayed 2014 These 2 bonded themselves and we would prefer they stay together.
Tarzan
Tarzan is one of the four babies rescued and transferred to Rescue Rabbits Rock from the Hollister Animal Shelter on May 2, 2015. This sweet little boy was found in a bad backyard unintentional breeding situation. He is a little too young to be away from his mama but mama has not been found. The sweet little guy is eating on his own and drinking from a water bottle and is thriving in his nice warm foster home with his brothers and sisters. He has not a worry in the world now except for finding his forever home with a loving person who will never ever throw him in the backyard and forget about him. He was just neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on July 7, 2015. He has a tinge of LionHead mix in him, between his ears & some cute tuffs of long hair on his booty. Call to meet this little sweetheart soon, he is waiting!
TaterTot
Little TaterTot came in with four siblings from the Hollister shelter on May 2, 2015. He is a Rex bunny and is so adorable you won't believe your eyes. Just barely able to be away from his mama, he was found in a backyard breeding situation in an underground burrow with his siblings. He is eating his alfalfa and munching on his pellets and getting ready to grow up to be one soft and luscious bunny! He only knows loving hands and has no fear, he is the smallest of the siblings and will need very gentle hands for awhile. He will be neutered when the time comes but he can be adopted very shortly into the perfect home.
Mercedes
What a fancy little girl this is! Mercedes came to Rescue Rabbits Rock from the Hollister shelter on May 2nd, 2015. They had a bad situation of a backyard unintentional breeder and they were found in an underground burrow. The shelter folks needed some help with this large intake and we were happy to do so. She came in with her four liter mates and we are guessing she is about three to four weeks old. She is by far the friendliest and the most fearless little babe ever! She is loving the life and munching on alfalfa and unlimited food. She is one lucky lady and ready to live the life of luxury. She will be spayed when she is old enough and that is not for about six months.
Yogi
How lucky our we that this little cutie found his way to RRR all the way from sunny Southern California! YOGI is a sweet human raised baby that was in need of some experienced bunny hands to make sure he would be safe and secure and get the nourishment he needed! As you can see this little cutie pie has grown and is healthy as ever. He was micro-chipped & neutered 4/29/15 at AFRP clinic and is ready to find his own home and human to watch and admire his baby bunny antics. Snuggles, kisses and a slice of banana a day required. He is in foster and has been exposed to lottsa handling, kids, dogs & a pig! Holler if he may be the bunny for you!
Echo
This beautiful Angora lop came a 4-H project situation we have been dealing with this past year. He is approx 3-4 mos old. He is a sweet boy but will need regular grooming. He will be neutered in April 2015 but is available for adoption anytime. He loves to be held & snuggled so owner must be ready to "Obey the Bunny' !!! Echo was micro-chipped & neutered at AFRP clinic on April 29, 2015
Charlotte
Santa Barbara shelter - hoarding situation, nearly starved to death ADOPTED to Jennifer Crowell (also has POPTART) on 4/27/15 (day she arrived) Traded for Dior
Cinder
CINDER also came from the Santa Barbara shelter on April 27th, 2015 and went straight to my house to foster. She was also an owner surrender to the shelter on 1/8/15. Totally super friendly & cute as a button! She is a Silver Martin Netherland Dwarf Mix, petite and spayed with the softest fur ever! She's sweet, holdable & has a cute litl' round head, irresistibly kissable. And she loves her food LOL! The shelter estimates her age as 9 mos. Cinder is a Princess-In-Waiting, longing and looking for her comfort castle. She lived the first 2/3 of her life in a small plastic dog crate, rarely getting out to stretch, hop, dig and binky. She was easily litter box trained, and will easily train her family to love her, dote on her and treat her like the Princess she is. And if there is a Prince 'round the bend, all the better for Cinder's fairytale finish.
Tennessee
This round soft squishy boy just arrived into the RRR program on April 27th from Santa Barbara County shelter. He sat waiting for nearly a year & no one wanted him, except us! He has what may be a scar tissue battle wound on the back of one ear where the fur is all white. Makes him unique! He is neutered and available as soon as today! His kennel card states he was an owner surrender on 7/2/2014 from Lompoc, CA. Tennessee was surrendered along with a couple dozen other Palominos by an overwhelmed breeder. He is a gentle, easy-going fella, with no distastes or demands, other than room to roam and good food to eat. He is litter box trained and loves to be lazy and loose. Would make a great house bunny and a congenial mate for some lucky ladybun. (Note to new owner, he drinks A LOT of water — I always had two bottles on his cage, but he seemed to use only one anyway).

Dior
This beautiful lady came from the Santa Barbara shelters. She was in late pregnancy when she arrived so we felt it best to let her have her babies (extremely emotional decision for us) but all went well & she delivered 2 babies in Feb. 2015. She nursed & pampered them and both were quickly adopted when they were old enough. She was then spayed 2 months later, April 2015. Now we are hoping to find her a retirement home so she can just be a bunny like she deserves. She is a sweet easy going girl & is in foster care w/kids, dogs & cats so anything goes for her to adapt easily without any fear whatsoever! (She was adopted for 1 year but surrendered back, kids left for college & parents did not want their bunny).
OZZY
How lucky our we that this little cutie found his way to RRR all the way from sunny Southern California! OZZY is a sweet human raised baby that was in need of some experienced bunny hands to make sure he would be safe and secure and get the nourishment he needed! As you can see this little cutie pie has grown and is healthy as ever. He was micro-chipped & neutered 4/16/15 and is ready to find his own home and human to watch and admire his baby bunny antics. Snuggles, kisses and a slice of banana a day required. He is in foster and has been exposed to lottsa handling, kids, dogs & a pig! Holler if he may be the bunny for you!
Bingo
BINGO - ID#A088098 My name is Bingo and I am a baby male, brown Shorthaired Rabbit The shelter staff think I am about 6 months old. I was surrendered to the Salinas City shelter Apr 02, 2015 and no one claimed me. RRR came out on May 3 and settled me into their comfortable foster home program, and I am loving it! I was micro-chipped & neutered at the AFRP Clinic on may 6th, 2015 and ready to be adopted forever. I am the friendliest litl guy, but I'm still growing. I really like playing with the cats & bunnies so if you have a lonely spayed female who wants to commit to a life w/me, email RRR!
JugHead
JUGHEAD - ID#A088205 My name is Jughead and I am a male, white and black Shorthaired Rabbit The shelter staff think I am about 10 months old. I was surrendered to the Salinas City shelter on Apr 11, 2015. I was found with 3 other bunnies hopping around an apt complex yard. Luckily someone cared enough to round us up & take us to safety. Even better, the RRR volunteers came and saved us all again! I am one of the happiest bunnies on earth and love attention! Wanna hold me ?, Sure! Wanna play with me ?, Sure! Wanna feed me ?, Sure! I'm game for anything! I would make a good pet for families with children dogs & cats (or other critters). I have beautiful ears by the way! And these adorable chubby cheeks. I was micro-chipped & neutered at AFRP Clinic on may 6th, 2015 and am ready to move in with you ASAP! My bags are packed.
Marbles
This beautiful friendly female arrived as a surrender at the Salinas City shelter on April 11th, 2015. She came in w/2 males who were all caught at an apt. complex in Salinas, CA. Being a female w/males, Rescue Rabbits Rock rushed out to get her & have her spayed & micro-chipped on April 15th, 2015 at AFRP Clinic. She was found to be in earliest stages of pregnancy. She is so friendly! She loves FOOD & is gorgeous too. MARBLES will be making her debut at Petsmart, Sand City on April 18th if you would like to come meet her, foster or adopt her, she will be ready to move on. Age unknown, guessing 1-2 yrs? She is currently in foster care, exploring her new world & apparently has NO fear! She weighs approx 3 pounds fully grown.

Kipling
Kipling came to us in March with his brother Ozzy. These two young boys were neutered & Micro-chipped at AFRP Clinic on April 16th, 2015. Many bunnies that come to us from shelters are a little shy and scared, but not these boys. Young and healthy and ready to hop right into your heart and home. Much love required and the more time you spend with him the better, he wants to be a part of the family for sure and loves to be out of his cage and running around his foster home. He is used to dogs and gentle kids, there is really not much he is afraid of but curious about everything. Give Rescue Rabbits Rock a holler to meet this amazing guy!
Biscuit
Here is BISCUITS original rescue story/Bio. He was just surrendered back to us due to another divorce situation. He hardly grew at all! He is so beautiful, petite & forgiving. BIO from 2012: On Tuesday (April 19,2012) a large Rubbermaid container was brought in by folks who found it full of 18 rabbits in the city of Elk Grove. The lid was secured and no air holes were provided. By the time the rabbits got here they were over heated and covered in urine. RESCUE RABBITS ROCK volunteered to help in this rescue by taking 2 baby boys on April 22, 2012. They cleaned up like a shiny penny ! They are the 2 you see in the center of the tub pic. Luckily these litl* fellas don*t hold a grudge & are grateful to be safe, clean & fed properly! BISCUIT was neutered on 5/30/12 & is a beautiful golden tan w/the sweetest eyes ever !
Lily Pie
LILY - ID#A087929 Currently at Salinas Animal shelter My name is Lily and I am a female, white and black Hoto The shelter staff think I am about 6 months old.. I have been at the shelter since Mar 17, 2015 LILY was picked up from shelter on April 1st, 2015 by RRR She was spayed & microchipped April 2nd 2015 at the AFRP Clinic. She appears young, full of friendly energy
Jelly Bean
This large beautiful lop, JELLYBEAN, came to our rescue the long way: From Copperopolis CA., a personal surrender due to humans health, she was no longer able to care for her. She weighs just shy of 7 pounds and is revealing her happy self now that she's settling in. She is completely fearless being around cats, dogs, humans. I've had no problems picking her up & carrying around. She LOVES to sit by your side for pets. She is approx. 2yrs old & never had any health problems. Very adaptable! Needs new home so she can continue her cushy bunny life. Great house bunny! She was spayed at Avian Exotic clinic on March 26th 2015.
Hemmingway
How lucky our we that this little cutie found his way to RRR all the way from sunny Southern California! Hemmingway is a sweet human raised baby that was in need of some experienced bunny hands to make sure he would be safe and secure and get the nourishment he needed! As you can see this little cutie pie has grown and is healthy as ever. He will be neutered as soon as he is old enough and is ready to find his own home and human to watch and admire his baby bunny antics. Snuggles, kisses and a slice of banana a day required. He is in foster and has been exposed to lottsa handling, kids, dogs & a pig! Holler if he may be the bunny for you!
Domino
DOMINO is as big as he is ever going to get! This package of cuteness needs to be an indoor bunny due to his tiny size. He has bunitude, meaning you must Obey the demands! He is used to kids, dogs & other bunnies. He came to us from southern Calif. in a neglect situation where breeders were confining them in tiny wire bottom cages with no room to hop or play. Please consider giving him a luxury lifestyle! We believe he is approx. 1 year and was neutered at Avian on Feb. 27th 2015.
Clover
This beautiful boy is a recent surrender by a wonderful couple who fell on hard times & decided the bunny deserves more than they can give. We appreciate we were contacted & were in the position to fit him into a foster home. He arrived into our care 2/8/15 and is settling into his new surroundings. We truly would love to get him adopted quickly so he doesn't have to go through yet another lifestyle adjustment (bunnies love routine). He is as sweet as can be! We have found his ONLY issue is the process of being picked up. Once he's in your arms or lap, sweetness prevails! This can be a temporary resolvable quirk that a human w/love, patience & resolve, can over come. Believe me, he is worth the effort! He is so immaculate, PERFECTLY potty box trained, young, happy, entertaining & healthy. He is not destructive in ANY way, and is not a fussy eater. He will be 3 years old in April 2015 and was neutered long ago. He originally came from the Fresno SPCA in California.
Holland Lop Male Neutered
Rolly Poly
How lucky our we that this little cutie found his way to RRR all the way from sunny Southern California! Rolly Poly was a mother less baby that was in need of some experienced bunny hands to make sure he would be safe and secure and get the nourishment he needed! As you can see this little cutie pie has grown and is healthy as ever. He was neutered on February 5, 2015 and is ready to find his own home and human to watch and admire his baby bunny antics. Snuggles, kisses and a slice of banana a day required!
Bugs one of 3 "Motherless" babies
On Jan. 3rd, 2015 we received a call from Monterey County Animal Services that a woman had just found three 2 week old babies in her front yard. She delivered them to the shelter & we immediately picked them up. Oh they were so teeny tiny, approx. 2 weeks old and sopping wet. We made calls & arrangements, gathering all necessary equipment to properly fed, clean & care to ensure their survival. Here they are a month later, thriving, healthy HAPPY friendly babies ready to fly the coop! They are too young to be spayed/neutered but we will arrange that when their time is ready. They require endless fresh Alfalfa, Alfalfa pellets & some amounts of greens (curly Parsley & Collard greens for now). Oh and they are absolutely crazy when fed a small slice of banana !!! They are even potty trained.

netherland dwarf spayed female bunny rabbit
Ali
Ali is about one pound of pure love. This is one little bunny that loves to be held and petted until you can not pet anymore! Ali came to us from a severe neglect situation in Southern California and we had her spayed on January 22, 2015. Being that Ali is such a little tiny girl we would have to insist that she be an indoor only bunny, she is not big on the great outdoors anyway and much prefers that you stay close by if she is out getting some sun. If you really want a lover of a bunny Ali is your girl!
Izzabella
IZZABELLA just arrived in to our Program Jan. 21st 2015. She is beautiful, large, loving, happy, EXTREMELY clean, potty trained, curious, fearless w/cats (probably dogs too). She was spayed & micro chipped at AFRP Clinic on Feb.5th, 2015. She is the perfect "Ready to adopt" bunny, a beautiful caramel/white short haired easy to care for girl. Adapts instantly to her new surroundings & LOVES any food! She was obviously a well cared for pet at some point but was picked up by Monterey Animal Control in the streets of Salinas and taken to Salinas COUNTY shelter. A great bunny for any family w/pets and/or children. Age unknown but guessing 2-4 years. She Loves to be where the action is, meaning she likes to hang out wherever you are so no putting her out in a hutch all alone (NONE of our rabbits are suited for that!).

LuLu
Lucky little LuLu! This little girl just escaped a terrible fate! She came into this world as a 4H project, but for some reason she was deemed a loser. So little LuLu sat in her cage, unloved and not cared for when one of our volunteers spotted her being dropped off at a hay and feed store. Her owners were trying to give her away but they did not want her because her hair was a matted dirty mess. LuLu is a fuzzy lop, which means she will have soft long hair, but not if you do not brush it. Our volunteer was paying for her hay and quickly jumped in and said "please let me take her"!!! We took her in and shaved off the mats and put her in a clean and safe environment where she has bloomed into the sweetest little girl you can imagine. We do not know her exact age but we think she is about three months young and we do have to wait a bit longer before she can be spayed. She can be adopted now and we will arrange her surgery when she is old enough. She will require brushing a few times a week as her hair grows out and she really prefers to play inside, most likely due to her scary beginning and she will need an indoor home only. You can meet LuLu at one of our adoption shows, but if you are interested please call or email us and we can also arrange an appointment.
Hiccup & Rose (brn)
Surrendered back after 2+years, here are their original stories as babies. Theses 2 are now a bonded couple ready for new beginnings! ROSE (brown): "These 2 litl' lady dwarfs (ROSE left/MARY Rt) are from our own "backyard" rescue we helped before it got out of hand. After 3 litters, we finally collected all the bunnies & these 2 are the last! They're from a litter of 9 so bonding them would be easy, however since they were the last to be caught, they are timid & shy. We brought them home & it took some time but everyday they showed improvement. They litter box trained themselves & tolerate humans better. They can be saved w/alot of LOVE & CUDDLES. ROSE was spayed in Feb. 2011. (We est. their birthday approx Oct 2010). HICCUP (white dwarf): HICCUP is Cha Cha's sister, pic is of them together when they were 4 weeks old. Both are nearly 2 mos now & had to be separated. Neither will weigh more than 3 pds at full age as they are dwarfs. Both were rescued from a reptile store (snake food). HICCUP has been living in a foster home who have smothered her w/love & attention. She is used to kids but being a small dwarf, we advise careful supervision at all times. HICCUP was spayed in Feb.2011. Of course they love their fresh produce 2-3 times a day. They are wonderful happy friendly potty box trained baby bunnies just hoping for a wonderful family!!!
Butternut
Butternut was a little orphaned baby found at about five weeks old in Santa Maria California where he was raised in a loving foster home for the past three months. He came to us on Nov. 2, 2014 via Santa Barbara Animal Services as they know we will find him the very best home! He was neutered at AFRP Clinic Dec. 22 2014. Butternut needs an indoor only home as he is a little fella and will not be getting a whole lot bigger. He has only ever know the indoors except for his brief photo shoot where as you can see he gave me a little smile for the picture! Super friendly, used to cats, dogs, kids & pot bellied pig!
male netherland dwarf rabbit
Napoleon
Little bitty bunny with a big personality. Napoleon is about a whole pound. He is a recent surrender and about 5 months old, he was neutered on Dec. 22, 2014. He needs to be an indoor bunny due to his size. He does play out on the patio but with supervision. I know his picture looks like a tough guy but he is really very small and prefers to be inside getting the cuddles and attention he deserves. Let us know if you would like to meet him or visit one of our adoptions events. He is currently in a foster home w/dogs, kids & a pot bellied pig so he's used to chaos!

Baby Magic 3
Magic is an adorable three month old Holland Lop. He came to Rescue Rabbits Rock on October 13, 2014. He was surrendered and is getting used to being held and loved on. He will be neutered as soon as he is ready but can be adopted now. If you have a spot for a little Magic in your life give us a call and we can arrange an appointment for you!

ROGER came to Salinas City Shelter: ID#A085676 I am described as a male, black and white Shorthaired Rabbit My age is unknown.. I have been at the shelter since Oct 08, 2014. I was neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on Oct. 16th, 2014 Please consider fostering or adopting me, I need patience, gentle cuddles & a peaceful environment. My childhood was not ideal & damaged my personality, but I did not become mean, I became timid. I will prove I am capable of love, once the right human reaches out to me. I long for that day, please.
Clyde
We received this email: "I got your email address from my sister, who was looking to give her bunny away several months ago. My sister adopted a dwarf bunny, named Clyde, from a pumpkin patch, but was unable to keep him. I decided to take him in with me, but it breaks my heart to say I'm allergic. I've had him for about 7 months now and love him, but can't keep him. I've been trying to adopt him out to a close friend, but have been unsuccessful. If you can give me any advice, or let me know the process of giving him to your shelter, I would appreciate it. He's a great bunny! Was very timid at first since he was handled by so many people at the pumpkin patch, but has really opened up and loves hopping around freely. Can be very cuddly and loves dogs and other animals." So here he is, safe in our rescue forever, until we find him a permanent home. He is adorable being part Lionhead & small. He arrived on Oct.14th, 2014 & was micro-chipped & neutered Oct. 29th, 2014 at AFRP Clinic.

rescue rabbit adopt bunny lionhead
Twiggy
This incredibly gorgeous Lionhead came to us by way of Santa Barbara County. She arrived w/some siblings: Born 5/10/14 & hand Bottle fed since 5 days old This family of babies came into our rescue on JULY 17th, 2014 from the overcrowded Santa Barbara shelter system. A lot of time, love & driving was involved so we hope to find them all the most fabulous families ever! They are INDOOR bunnies ONLY. Already sweet & cuddly, they are used to humans & are ripe for training if you pay enough attention & devote yourself. TWIGGY was spayed & micro chipped on Oct.13th 2014.
Pongo Paws
This amazing sweet Dwarf boy came from the Sacramento SPCA on Nov.10, 2013. He was an owner surrender who claimed, "they keep having babies"! So along with approx 8 other siblings, we accepted them into our rescue. This little boy, was just a baby and hasn't grown much in the past year since he was adopted and now surrendered back. Family just lost interest & had no time. So we will be screening carefully for his next home, making sure it will be his last move. He was well cared for & is a true sweety, loves to be held, loves to Binky, clean as can be, longs to be loved. He is safe in foster care for now. He weighs approx. 3 pounds & is full grown at 1 yr. of age. He was neutered in Dec. 2013.
male rabbit for adoption
Bullwinkle
Cutest little moose! Big brown eyes and long eyelashes! Bullwinkle is approximately 10 months old when he arrived to our rescue in September 2014. He will be neutered as soon as we can get him an appointment so he is ready to be the perfect little pet. He likes to be petted and will require a little brushing as he has a gorgeous silky brown coat that is a little fuzzy! As you can tell from his picture with the apple, he is not too much bigger so he will need to be an indoor pet with supervised outside time! Very friendly and very sweet little guy! Call or come to our next adoption event to meet him.
Peanut
PEANUT, a 4-5 yr old neutered male is a smallish single male who recently lost his bun wife of 4 years. He apparently likes being single again and really likes attention from gentle children! He is a small to medium round bundle of cuddliness and wants a new home ASAP. He's been moved a lot through the foster home system, and being a bunny, that's not what we want to have happen. He is a fussy eater, does not like pellets or fresh bananas but loves his apple slice, Kale, Cilantro and HAY. He is immaculate with his potty box and keeps his pen as clean as ever! He's the perfect, most requested type bunny and he is ready to be all yours!
Arnie
This amazing boy wants a quiet gentle home as soon as possible. He is dying to bloom, feel safe & be loved! He is a sweet heart, gentle, easy, clean but is craving some love. He has learned we (humans) are his friends & he LIKES us !! He plays, eats his treats by hand and loves to be held. It has been super special to see & help Arnie overcome his past, being kept in a wire bottom cage, all alone. Are you the special human who will love this fella & give him all he deserves? He loves his Hay, Italian parsley & Kale, a nightly banana slice & a couple raisins, but his favorite bed time snack is a timothy apple biscuit! He's completely full grown at a whole 4 pounds.
Flyin' Monkey
This adorable litl' boy ended up in the Mty County shelter on Aug. 29, 2014 when we were called & picked him up. He is an amazing HAPPY, friendly fella who was neutered Sept. 4th. We call him a Flop lop, and man can he fly!!! He leaps blindly up onto sofas, counters, tables, so be ready for some major entertainment. He is very young and LOVES my cats so he would do well in any kind of situation. He will be snapped up soon !
Star
This brown/black mix female came into Salinas City shelter and immediately gave birth to 5 babies. Since then, STAR has been spayed & returned to a foster home. She is quietly overcoming her ordeal & is proving love can cure heartache. She was named STAR because she was found as a stray hopping about at the Star Market in Salinas, CA. We would love to find her a forever home as soon as possible & let her enjoy a happy stress free life. She has beautiful brown/black fur, very unique and is gentle. Not really a busy family type, but she is enjoying some well mannered dogs & small gentle children. Her age is unknown but she was spayed at AFRP clinic approx Aug. 19,2014
Tiny Dancer
Tiny Dancer is one of our recent favorites, saved by one of our volunteers who heard her time was up at the shelter. She sped out to scoop her up on her lunch break & found yet another space in her heart to foster until she finds her forever home. We are lucky she was already spayed & micro chipped (at Monterey SPCA) sometime in July 2014. She was an owner surrender, who stated she loved to be a lap bunny, loved to roam the house & was sweet as can be. The owners just didn't want a pet anymore - our gain! She is a perfect candidate for a bonding. She is full grown, age unknown but is at least 18 mos. old, approx. 3 pounds & as cute as a button !
Journey & Destiney
UPDATE Dec. 21, 2014 Both were ADOPTED together ! We received a call June 23rd regarding 2 bunnies had been tossed out of a car window, into an open field next to a highway. It was approx. 10pm when a daughter was returning home from work, she saw & saved these innocent pets. She took them home & luckily "mom" called us, got them comfortable & fed properly until she could deliver them to us on June 25th. Both have had their spay & neuter surgeries on July 1st, however, our vet found massive abscesses on Journeys chin and leg so he had to endure 2 more surgeries. Being a true survivor, he has rebounded & is as good as new. Tale tell signs make us believe they were domesticated house pets at some point as they are friendly, well adjusted happy bunnies. They are clean & hungry & easy to hold. Age unknown, but both are relatively young. We want more than ever to keep these 2 together as they have endured quite an ordeal & stuck by each other. Maybe you can help begin their next chapter in life? Or maybe you are in a position to make a medical donation to Journeys vet expenses? Paypal donations can be made to lisabunnybuns@aol.com or by following our "Sponsor us" link.
Rosaleeny
This petite little bundle of fur was hiding in a corner of her wire bottom cage outside at our local Monterey SPCA (they are over loaded too). My eyes went straight to her, I knew I couldn't leave her there. She appeared to be shut down, hopeless, sad, like she had just plain given up on a happy life. Not anymore !!! We scooped her into our arms and brought her home, arranged a nice foster home and there she is staying, to grow & bloom. She is being spoiled with fresh farmers market produce, fresh yummy hay and an apple or slice of banana. In the short time we've had her, she has bloomed and comes up to ask for treats. She is full grown, weighing approx. 2-3 pds and was spayed July 10th, 2014 at AFRP clinic. She is also micro chipped. She is available for adoption to a quiet calm safe home, probably not with small children. Gentle dogs & cats are OK with her, as she with them! She's also make a great bonding partner with a lonely neutered male.
Bunjalina Jolie
This very special little lady needs a very special home, indoor only as she is very small and will stay very small. Bunjalina Jolie is about ten weeks old and a Netherland Dwarf which means she will be about two to three pounds full grown. She has spent the last few weeks of her life in a foster home getting lots of love and fresh alfalfa and she thinks people are really great! Bunjalina is not ready to be spayed yet but we will arrange that when she gets to be about six months old. Let us know if you would like to meet this sweet little girl as we know she will get scooped up fast!
Squish
Squish was surrendered at our own local Monterey SPCA and we were delighted to take him in and help him find his forever home! When we took him to get neutered on July 21st 2014 at AFRP Clinic, he required a "spay" procedure due to an undescended "coconut". He was definitely down & out for a few days, but his foster mom lovingly nursed him back & here he is! His previous owners had given him a princess name thinking he was a she so we decided to call him Squish since you can hug him, kiss him, and squish him with love and he will eat it up! He is super friendly and eager to follow you around like a puppy He gets along just fine with well mannered dogs and children and is picking up his potty box habits pretty quickly. We feel he would be an excellent candidate for bonding if you happen to have a lonely spayed female. Otherwise we prefer a human who has the time & desire to give him the attention he deserves.
Nell
Not even two pounds of cute, that's our little Nell. Don't let her grumpy face fool you, Nell loves to cuddle and is a very sweet little girl with good potty box manners and hops up to greet you when you come in the room. Nell was spayed on July 15th and is approximately one year young. We will insist Nell goes to an indoor home only, she can play outside with supervision and very much enjoys it but when you come in she must as well! Nell is one of the smallest breeds of bunnies the Netherland Dwarf and she came from a bad situation in Santa Maria and was taken good care of by the wonderful ladies at the shelter before coming to Monterey Countys very own Rescue Rabbits Rock.
Stevie Nicks
Born 5/10/14 & hand Bottle fed since 5 days old This family of babies came into our rescue on JULY 17th, 2014 from the overcrowded Santa Barbara shelter system. A lot of time, love & driving was involved so we hope to find them all the most fabulous families ever! They are INDOOR bunnies ONLY. Already sweet & cuddly, they are used to humans & are ripe for training if you pay enough attention & devote yourself. STEVIE, here, well.... is actually a BOY! We thought he was a girl when we checked as a baby. He was neutered Sept. 4th, 2014 at Avian Exotic Clinic in Monterey, CA.
Joan Jett
Born 5/10/14 & hand Bottle fed since 5 days old This family of babies came into our rescue on JULY 17th, 2014 from the overcrowded Santa Barbara shelter system. A lot of time, love & driving was involved so we hope to find them all the most fabulous families ever! They are INDOOR bunnies ONLY. Already sweet & cuddly, they are used to humans & are ripe for training if you pay enough attention & devote yourself. They are not yet spayed/neutered, we will provide their surgeries when they are old enough (approx. 3-6 mos. old).
Mabel
COPY: http://youtu.be/EmVjAdY_2Ks?list=UUHIf6sSliYcBvxVJRHgO8dg This gorgeous lop lady came into the Monterey County Animal services on July 10, 1024. RRR picked her up 5 days later and fell in love fast! She is SWEET and appears young & FULL of energy. She will be one entertaining bunny but will need lots of exercise & attention. She LOVES to eat, loves to be held, loves to follow humans around, loves life !!! She is on the large size but there's not a mean bone in her body! She would be a perfect choice for a family with responsible children, dogs or cats. She would do great as a free roaming house bunny and would love a garden with supervised playtime. We currently keep her in a large dog crate with a shelf she adores, of course she's getting plenty of playtime 2x a day. She was spayed at AFRP clinic on Aug. 5th 2014. She is ready to be adopted now!
female black and white lop
Meggie
Meggie is a wonderful black and white lop with a great personality. The Rescue Rabbits Rock volunteers saw her at the Monterey County SPCA and knew we could not leave her there! Along with some of her bunny friends, they are now on the way to the good life! She is very friendly and has excellent potty box manners. After just one day in her foster home she was demanding some attention and happy to see her foster mom. Meggie was spayed at AFRP clinic on July 21, 2014 and is micro chipped as well. Bunnies don't get much better than this one, Cute, clean & people friendly!
Baby Bugsy
On June 28 late afternoon, I received a call from the Monterey County Animal Services stating a nice human just caught a loose baby bunny. This fella was itty bitty, perhaps 6 weeks old. I rushed out & brought him home and he was so scared. But he soon discovered, with deluxe accommodations & delicious meals served, humans are pretty good after all! We transferred him into a caring foster home & after 3 days, foster mom wrote the following: "Bugsy is definitely a gem. He is so curious and very adventurous. He runs around like a little crazy person and loves his food and hay. He even takes big leaps into his cage and even on boxes that I have. These gray eyes are so hypnotizing. He loves pets and loves to be held and put his head under your chin. He will run up to you if you are sitting down and put his head on your leg. I'm falling in love with him more and more everyday!" He fits in the palm of your hand !! BUGSY is ready to be adopted & was neutered Avian in 2014.
Cookie
Everybody needs a black rabbit! They tend to have an overwhelming happy personality & love to entertain their humans! COOKIE was a surrender from a family who adopted him years ago fro another rescue group. He was bonded with our beautiful lady Lop DUTCHESS, but they chose to "divorce" each other and move on. COOKIE is approx. 4-5 years old & still loves to Binky about. He is used to chaos, dogs, cats, kids, other bunnies. He would love a place where he can race & dance, but have a safe indoor home as well. Perfectly potty trained!
Dewey
I am DEWEY! Brothers Dewey and Chewey are just ten weeks old and our newest additions! They are Holland Lops and by far the most popular of the bunny kingdom. The boys have sweet dispositions but are just getting used to being held and they are starting to think us people are pretty cool. Both are too young to be neutered but that will be taken care of as soon as they are ready. Dewey and Chewey can be adopted now and are not bonded so they can go separate. Contact us if you are wanting to meet one of our boys and make sure you let us know your interested if you plan on attending one of our adoption shows so we can stash one for you!
SURRENDER: BeeBee Bunny REX
COPY & PASTE to see PICS: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4qwrrw0wf2_UU1EMFk0RkE3eEE/edit BeeBee is an adorable white and tan basic beautiful bunny. She is looking for a forever home that's not too noisy where she can live inside and get lots of cuddles! She's a mellow bunny who has sudden bursts of energy, spontaneously running in circles and binkying. She's shy at first, but it doesn't take long for her to warm up, and she loves nothing more than to snuggle up with her owner (often licking and purring when she's really content). She's very social, always rushing to the side of her pen to greet people as they walk by, and would rather hop in your lap than run around the room. She's perfectly litter-box trained and loves playing with cardboard boxes and plastic toys with bells inside. She's already spayed, and she's good with kids as far as I know (she was totally okay with a four-year-old petting her, but he never picked her up, so I'm not sure how she'd be with that). I'm not sure how she'd be with dogs or cats - she was really shy and skittish when I first got her, and although she is significantly better now, loud noises or fast movements still freak her out sometimes, so my guess is that they might scare her.
Casanova
This velvety soft chocolate brown REX male came into the Salinas City Animal services on June 24th, 2014 - We hurried out to take him away & set up in a nice safe foster home so he wouldn't feel alone or scared. He appears unfazed by whatever his past might of been, luckily for us! He can be adopted right away as he is as friendly & sweet as can be. His hind toes are scraped down to nothing & the tip of his tail is bald but other than that, he appears ready to rock! He was neutered July 1st, 2014 at our AFRP Clinic & is micro chipped. Beautiful breeds like him don't last long in our program so Email or call to adopt if you feel he's the one for you! Our guess of approx. age 2-4 years old.

Rumi
RUMI, a gorgeous Rex boy is a proud new member of Rescue Rabbits Rock delivered here with some friends from the wonderful caring folks at Santa Barbara Animal Services where he recovered beautifully from his neuter surgery as well as some bite wounds on his back. He was picked on by his fellow cage mates in a breeding situation and was very shy at first but has come around wonderfully. This is a message from Rumi's foster Mom that nursed him back to health. "I have nothing but deep and abiding love and respect for this boy. Many rabbits would have learned to distrust people, but he did the opposite. He deserves the best home available on this planet, after all he has been through and all he obviously has to bear", and we at Rescue Rabbits Rock vow to make sure he has just that!
baby femal bunny rabbit
Marbles
Marbles was rescued from a construction site in Santa Maria at a mere three weeks old, along with her four siblings. Some construction workers were about to lay down some concrete when they noticed the ground wiggling, a minute later some very hungry three week old baby bunnies hopped out. They were taken to the Animal Services where they were cared for until they were old enough to get transferred to Rescue Rabbits Rock and we were delighted to get them into our care! Potty training is coming along at a rapid rate and before you know it she a graduate of liter box training 101! Marbles is available now but too young for her spay surgery but we will take care of that when she is six months old. To meet Marbles check out our events link for all of our adoption shows or give us a call to arrange an appointment!
Trinity
Trinity came to us from the Salinas City Shelter as a stray. She has been in a loving foster home since February 2014 but she would really like her own home and own people! Her foster mom says she is perfect with her potty box manners and is a very sweet and gentle girl. She is used to dogs and kids. She loves her hay and fresh veggies but always waits until her foster mom leaves the room before eating. She doesn't want to be rude and eat in front of her! Come and visit Miss Trinity at our next adoption event or give us a call to set up an appointment!
angora bunny rabbit
Timothy
Poor little Timothy is having a bad hair day! Timothy is now so happy to be feeling good and in a foster home with someone that knows angora bunnies do need a bit of brushing and he has lots of fresh hay and greens. It has taken a couple of days but he is finally thinking us humans can be pretty cool. We want to make sure whoever takes Timothy into their home will have to brush him a couple times a week, it doesn't take long and Timothy will love you forever for it!
Chance
Chance was rescued from a construction site in Santa Maria at a mere three weeks old, along with his four siblings. Some construction workers were about to lay down some concrete when they noticed the ground wiggling, a minute later some very hungry three week old baby bunnies hopped out. Thankfully these guys took the time to find their nest and scoop them off to safety at Santa Barbara Animal Services where they were bottle fed and sent here on June 6th at eight weeks old to Rescue Rabbits Rock. He will be neutered in when he is ready, but he can be adopted and welcomed into your family now. Chance is happy and healthy and chowing down on his alfalfa hay. He is growing out what will soon be his Lion head mane, he is already sporting some of that classic hairdo!
Buddy
Buddy is just that, your best buddy. He has had a few bunny relationships but now he is a single bunny again looking for a human to bond with. He is a super sweet bunny and is very content to just be held. He will fall asleep in your arms if you cradle him like a baby. He is very mellow when he sitting with you or in his cage. When you let him free he does like to race around through tunnels and then flop out. His favorite pastime is shredding old phone books. He is an ideal bunny for a family with kids because he is just so sweet. Trust me, once you hold buddy in your arms he will just melt your heart."
Male Chocolate Dutch bunny rabbit
Cocoa
Cocoa is a lovely dwarf chocolate dutch bunny. He came to us from the Lompoc shelter where he was a part of a large group of rabbits that were confiscated from a hoarder. Cocoa was neutered on April 8, 2014 and given a clean bill of health. He is about one year old, very curious and friendly. He arrived in Monterey on June 6th and is currently residing in a foster home with kids and doggies, he loves the company!
BeBe
Sweet BeBe was rescued from a construction site in Santa Maria at a mere three weeks old, along with her four siblings. She will be spayed in September when she is six months old but she can be adopted and welcomed into your family now. She is happy and healthy and chowing down on her alfalfa hay. BeBe is growing out what will soon be her Lion head mane, she is already sporting some of that classic hairdo!
rex female bunny rabbit
Berry Blu
Berry Blu is a Rex and absolutely as stunning as she is soft with a wonderful disposition. Berry is about nine months old and was spayed in May of 2014. She came to us from Santa Barbara County where she was part of a hoarding situation and she had to be removed for a better life. That may be why she loves her food so much! She had to share with too many before and now she is maybe a little overindulging! Her belly is a little round so not too many treats for this beauty! She loves her fresh hay and greens too and is coming along great with her potty box manners. She enjoys a nice snuggle and head rubs are the best. She is available to win your heart over now!
Roo
Tiny little Roo has not grown into those ears just yet. She is just eight weeks old and came to us from Santa Maria where she and her siblings were almost lost to the world. Some wonderful construction workers noticed the ground wiggling as they were getting ready to pour some cement when a little hole formed and out popped a little family of three week old hungry baby bunnies. The scooped them up and brought them to Animal Services where they received immediate care and bottles of kitten milk until they were ready to come here to Monterey and Rescue Rabbits Rock. Roo will be spayed as soon as she is old enough early in September. She is available for adoption now and we will make you an appointment as soon as she is ready.
Jammy Pants
Little Jammy Pants is one lucky little lady. She was found by some very nice construction workers over in Santa Maria. As they were getting ready to lay down some concrete the ground was wiggling and out came a little family of three week old baby bunnies! They were tiny and hungry! They dug up the nest and found a total of five little hungry bunnies and took them immediately to Animal Services for quick care! They were placed into a wonderful foster home and bottle fed until they came here to Monterey County and Rescue Rabbits Rock. We are delighted to have these lucky little babies in our care. They are eight weeks old and are part Lion head. Little Jammy Pants has the beginnings of her Lion head mane and the most adorable tuft of a skirt on her bottom! Check out our events page to come and meet her and the other babies and if you want to meet them sooner give us a call!
KoKoNut
KoKoNut is a young and spunky little girl. Netherland/Dutch mix we expect her to stay petite! She arrived from Santa Barbara Animal Services on June 6, 2014. She is approximately six months old and was spayed just last month. She is a very curious little girl who wants to know all about you. If you just sit on the floor and wait just a minute....here she comes to sniff and check you out! Fun and friendly describe this little girl. Give us a call or check our events link for the next show and come and meet this little ball of cute!
holland lop bunny rabbit
Louey
Hello World! It's Louey the Lop! Louey is approximately two years young and arrived with his adorable slightly crooked little nose to Rescue Rabbits Rock on June 6, 2014. Louey was confiscated from a hoarding situation in Santa Barbara county in May. Despite his horrid situation before he was rescued, Louey is your typical mellow jello lop. He was neutered in May 2014 and has a clean bill of health, all he needs now is you to give him fresh hay, head rubs and most importantly lots of love!

Thurston
Thurston is a beautiful mini Rex that is really starting to blossom. He arrived at Rescue Rabbits Rock on May 13, 2014 via Santa Barbara Animal Services where he was neutered and lovingly rescued. His foster Mom says "Thurston was an owner surrender from a woman who had him a week and found out she was allergic. The 6 months before that he lived in a local pet store. He is finally learning to use a litter box, but you have to keep it in the corner he chooses. Otherwise, fuggedabout it. He is a beautiful boy with a great attitude, but has been bereft of consistent handling. Really easy going though. He drinks from a water bottle." He appears to be a young guy and has adjusted perfectly here (apparently I put his potty box in the right spot because he hasn't missed it yet)!
lionhead male bunny rabbit
Maestro
Small and mighty the Maestro is! This little boy is about seven or eight weeks old! He will not get very big, we heard his parents are dwarf lionheads so we are not expecting more than a couple of pounds for this boy. He is too young to be neutered but we will arrange for that to happen as soon as he matures. This adorable little boy was raised in a loving foster home of a volunteer from Santa Barbara Animal Services. They have been handled plenty and a fearless little bundles of cuteness!
holland lop male bunny rabbit
Rusty
Hello Lop fans, meet Rusty the newest Rescue Rabbits Rock addition! Rusty had a rough start in life and the folks at Santa Barbara Animal Services told us his story "Rusty came from this same hoarder situation, but his punishment was living in a small cage with three little ladies. He had a URI, but he was glad to have suffered so to keep that company. He is delightful and cuter than cute." Rusty is in perfect health now and ready to make your day a lot brighter!

Tommy
Watch my video at http://youtu.be/VginqVJvrw0 TOMMY is an active litl' fella who came into our Salinas City shelter as a stray in Dec. 2013. He was neutered Feb. 3rd, 2014 at AFRP Clinic & is raring to find a permanent home to set up his home & toys. He loves people!!!! He comes up to you for attention, is easily held & is extremely clean with his potty manners. He is just learning to eat greens (Kale, Collard, Italian parsley), he probably never had a good diet before :(. Definitely loves his Orchard grass/Timothy hay so make sure he gets plenty. We love this fella & he will definitely bring a spark to your home! Age is approx.. 8-12 mos. young.
fuzzy holland lop
Moose
Moose is an adorable fuzzy Holland lop that was born on New Years Eve, and he is quite a party boy. He loves to play, play, play! He does also enjoy a good head rub and ear massage! He does require daily grooming with his long pretty coat but he does not seem to mind it too much. He is used to his foster families gentle dogs and kids. Come and meet the Moose at our next adoption show or contact us for an appointment!
rescue bunny rabbit dwarf
DeeDee
This squeezable litl' bunny is a medium/small girl who was surrendered to our SPCA. We were called & collected her & placed her in a foster home (she shacked up w/Bunston the Angora lop). She is a bundle of love, happiness, gentle, clean & extremely family adjusted. GREAT house bunny. The previous owners had her approx. 1 year so we are estimating she may be 2 years old. Already spayed & ready to go either solo or with her friend.
Opie & Lancelot
OPIE is a small neutered litl’ boy who came from our SPCA in a group of 23 babies. Some we had to bottle feed, but all survived & bloomed in foster homes. This fella has had a roomate so he would be a wonderful "bondable" bunny or if enough attention can be given, he can be solo. He is used to being around cats but because of his small size, he does get nervous with too much busy noise/action. Not recommended for small children. He was neutered at AVIAN Exotic clinic in Oct. 2013 when he was approx. 3mos. old. He loves his slice of banana, slice of apple, kale, Italian parsley and spinach. He is also a great Hay eater! Since we wrote this bio, OPIE has bonded with his older sibling, LANCELOT (the chocolate brn bun). Both take care of each, other always snuggling side by side. Both are small yet full grown and definitely neutered. If you are interested in either or both, we want to make sure they are the right fit for you, so please email us with ANY questions. Both these beautiful boys have been in our care since they were born, approx.. 9-10 months old now.
Chrissy
My name is Chrissy and I am a spayed female, white and gray Shorthaired Rabbit The shelter staff think I am about 11 months old. I arrived at the Salinas City shelter Feb 20, 2014. RRR came and rescued me, got me spayed on April 8, 2014 at Avian Exotic Clinic. I came in with some friends of mine and we were slightly mistreated but we are ever so forgiving, we are willing to give you humans another chance. We are really the most laid back breed of bunny & we need the opportunity to feel relaxed enough to show our true personality. Maybe you want me ???
Snowball
This fabulous young beauty has really surprised us! She is fearless, lovable, happy and ever so clean with her potty manners. She LOVES to run, flip, fly & binky! She's in a wonderful foster home with kids, dogs, other bunnies and is the joy of the house, entertaining beyond belief. We have learned if you are leery of the ruby eyes & can give these Big White bunnies a chance, you'll see they have the best personality ever. In all my years, I have never met a mean one, they are usually the best hold able, snuggly bunnies. Try fostering one & we promise you will agree!

He loves his fresh greens, nanas and carrots are is favorite. He is a very nice easy going fella, full grown and weighs approx.. 2 pounds. He is fearless !!!
Nikka
NIKKA Nikka is a surrender and lived with her partner for 5 years. They were a gift to a family, which tried and succeeded for years caring for them, but eventually decided to let them go. They are healthy and have lived indoors all their lives, but since coming to our rescue, we have let them explore the bunny garden & they love it! Her partner was adopted and rebonded. Now it is Nikkas turn! She has perfect potty box habits and she is a bigger holdable girl.

Ewok
EWOK arrived from a Santa Barbara confiscation on March 1st 2013 along w/22 others. They were breeder bunnies kept in unsanitary conditions. We hooked up w/SB animal control officers who drove endless hours round trip to deliver to our rescue group. What a sight and a lot of chaos but we got them all neutered/spayed and most adopted. EWOK was the most wanted and was adopted quickly but the owner was a student & EWOK got evicted. We want to make sure he gets his forever home this time (bunnies do not like change of routines). He did go into a slight depression but since being in a terrific foster home, his joy has returned. He would love to be adopted w/a girl bunny to keep him from ever being lonely again.

Ace and Asia "Bunny Bookends"
Ace and Asia are siblings to Bodhi and Dilly. These cuties are still babies! They were raised with kind doggies and loving foster parents so they have no fear! They love to play in the garden and snuggle in your arms when they are all tuckered out! They can be adopted separately or re bonded to your lonely bunny.
Dilly
This little baby boy was born to our rescue bunny Mama Mia on January 25th along with his 4 siblings. We were on our way to the shelter to pick Mama Mia up for her spay appointment when we found out it was too late. We took the family (hours old) and set them up in a wonderful foster home! He was handled all throughout his early weeks so he is Friendly, adorable, and ADOPTABLE! He was neutered on April 18, 2014 at Avian Exotic clinic

Bodhi
Bodhi was born January 25th from Mama Mia. He was lucky to be raised in a wonderful foster home and he is used to cuddles from humans as well as nice dogs! He is a baby so he is not neutered yet but we will take care of that when the time is right! He is available for adoption now!
netherland dwart male bunny rabbit
Seymour
Seymour is approximately one year young little tiny boy. He is a Netherland Dwarf with teeny tiny little ears. Just recently surrendered, he is yet to be neutered but will be on his way sometime this week (shhhhh don't tell him!) He is a little shy at first but warms up quickly, he is learning to use his potty box and certainly loves his hay. He is strictly an indoor guy, with his size he would be too easy prey for birds and other animals, so indoor home only! UPDATE! Seymore was neutered 3/27/14

spayed bunny rabbit for adoption
Jenna
JENNA came to us from the Sacramento SPCA breeder confiscation w/50 other rabbits in Feb 2011. She was spayed in May 2011. She is an indoor house pet ONLY due to her size. She is approx. 3 years old now and seeking a rabbit savvy home. She wasn't exactly kept the way house rabbits should be so she needs a patient person(s) to let her rediscover bunny bliss. We have her in a terrific foster home so she can be pampered until someone decides she's worth the effort.
Balie
This gorgeous girl is as perfect as one can expect a young pet bunny to be. SUPER friendly, happy, clean, active, calm, beautiful! She came into our rescue from Modesto, CA. and is spayed, ready for a new family today! He loves baskets & any food offered. Needs free playtime to race around, binky and explore nooks & crannies. We want the very best of the best for her, she is worth it!

Flower

bunny rabbit adoptable girl
Bambee
This adorable little bitty girl is approximately two years old, spayed, and spoiled! She has not known a hard life and is super sweet and trusting. She was adopted out from our program as a baby and tearfully surrendered back due to family illness. She approximately four pounds of cuddles and perfectly potty trained. She is used to kids and friendly dogs. She is waiting for you!
Poochie
This adorable ball of fur is new to our program as of MAY 1, 2012 & was neutered at AVIAN on JULY 6th 2012. He is quite confused as to WHY someone left him in the middle of the night in a cold scary cage but he appreciates the humans who are caring for him now. He needs a tad bit of xtra lovings but has great potential. He is young and loves to dig in his litter box but we adore his quirky personality regardless. Not a great choice for small children but doesn't mind cats & possibly a sweet dog. Would love a bunwife too!
Loverboy
Loverboy is a young adult male Lionhead. He is scheduled to be neutered on Wendsday March 5, 2014 (but shhhhh, don't tell him)!!!
Donovan
EXCITED to WELCOME into RRR program from Suzi Hibbard, who rescued this gorgeous lucky family of bunnies. We are pleased to help by taking 2 today (transport via Michael Cummings): Girl is Dani (1st pic light color), boy is Donovan (2nd pic darker)... both love bunny snacks and are very curious. DANI is about a year, DONOVAN is 6 months. Both very clean..They are sweet.... Dani gave birth at my house & was the only one from the group not deathly ill. She then cared for Donovan and 2 others whose mother was deathly ill..The only thing is to watch the adults with dogs...this is the group where the guy allowed his dog to chew/kill the rabbits.....

Jasper
JASPER is the brother of KEVIN, both bought as presents for a family (NOT recommended) from a breeder. Both are neutered and both are single. They are perfectly potty trained and tolerate little dogs just fine, cats too! They are approx. 1 year old now and fortunately we were able to help this family out by taking them into our program. We rarely get Purebred Rex rabbits so if you are interested, email us now to arrange a meeting!
Kevin
KEVIN: READY to be ADOPTED! APPROX. 1 YR. OLD, neutered male purebred REX, was a present to a family, purchased from a breeder. Does GREAT w/small dog & cats. GORGEOUS Taupe color, soft as velvet
Jessa
This amazing SWEET gentle girl was brought into our Salinas City shelter as a stray on Feb. 5th 2014. She was in bad shape w/wet tummy, legs & urine area. We believe she MAY have given birth to stillborns earlier that day. The shelter immediately asked for our help & was transported to Avian Clinic immediately. Our wonderful vets began their magic, kept her for a few days, spayed her (2/6/2014) & sent her to our medical foster home for after treatment. Our volunteer gave her necessary shots, butt washes, shaving & fed her proper diet. She was been reexamined & declared a clean bill of health! Everyone who was involved fell in love as she is the sweetest little girl ever! Please consider adopting her and if that’s not possible, maybe making a donation to help us cover her medical expenses (thru PayPal on our website) or calling Avian at (831)647-1147 & state it is for JESSA.
Miranda
MIRANDA is a harlequin female, spayed & micro chipped. She is a super sweet, gentle, calm bunny considering an early sad childhood. She was rescued from a terrible neglect situation & was lucky to end up at our SPCA. She LOVES humans (go figure), maybe she is grateful to them for saving her. We would love to bond her, so she can really enjoy the rest of her life! She is currently in a temporary foster home, enjoying fresh treats, clean water, and bunny toys! We do not know her age but she weighs 5.7 pounds full grown. We received her into our rescue on 2/12/2014. SUPER FRIENDLY !!
adoptable lop bunny rabbit
Holly
Perhaps the cutest bunny ever, this purebred Holland lop is a litl' ball of spunk! She CRAVES human attention & is ALWAYS ready to go go go !!! She would be a great bondable bunny, some lucky guy who can entertain her energy. She is almost potty trained, but once she settles into a furever home, that should resolve quickly. She is not fussy about food & loves a treat (banana, apple slice, green grape). She was surrendered to SPCA & spayed on 2/3/2014. She is NOT micro chipped. What's not to love - waking up every day to this happy CUTE face !
Skeeter
This young girl came to us from a concerned lady way up in San Jose. She saved 3 bunnies & called for our help. She drove all the way down here & was crying with happiness we would be willing to help take care of these bunnies until we found them a forever home. All 3 were immediately examined, micro chipped & spayed at the AFRP clinic. SKEETERS is the last one available, perfectly potty trained & love raisins for treats. She is extremely happy, energetic and a total house bunny. A great choice for bonding too.
Goose & Bean
Follow this link to see our antics on video! http://youtu.be/vJPxpKZRgxw Hey there! I’m Ivy Bean, and this is my brother Goose. We are the best of friends and do everything together, even picking outfits. See, we match! I have luxurious gray fur, and he has white fur with gray spots. We loooove to run around, binkying and chasing each other. I know we probably don’t look it, but we’re super fast! We are totally fearless and love to try new things! At out foster human’s place, we romp around with the cats. Goose might even think he is one by now! Afterwards, we love to relax and stretch out with our paws hanging out of the cage. But that doesn’t last for long! Goose likes to mess up our cage—I think he does it to spite my neat self. I constantly have to keep things orderly, although sometimes I don’t mind letting my hair down, so to speak, and throwing things around with him. Goose and I were jail babies, being born in the shelter. A family with kids, cats, and other bunnies fostered us for a while, so we’ve been around other animals from birth. We are looking for a nice family that has a safe yard or a big indoor area for us to run. We certainly wouldn’t say no to having a few kids or other animals around, either! Do you want to be our new best friends?
Runaway
Lucky little black bunny! The Carmel police officers found & caught this happy go lucky boy when he was hopping down the street in Carmel. They knew our volunteer, Kim, worked in Carmel so they delivered him to her while she was at work ! It was quite a surprise, but of course she took him home later that day & pampered him w/food & love. We got him neutered right away because he kept escaping his X pen (hence his name) He has settled down & been living in a new foster home, hanging out w/our Penelope bunny. Can be adopted together or as singles.
Tommy
TOMMY is an active litl' fella who came into our Salinas City shelter as a stray in Dec. 8-12 mos. young.
Jester
JESTER: The friendliest of all breeds, the BIG WHITE BUNNY! So many people miss out on these fabulous, calm, happy, hold able loving bunnies because they are white with beautiful ruby eyes. We consider them magical, they see & feel differently than other types of rabbits in a way hard to describe. We suggest JESTER was found as a stray in Salinas, CA. & brought into the Salinas City Animal shelter on Dec. 10th, 2013. We got him neutered on Feb. 3rd 2014 and placed him in a foster home. He is approx.. 1-2 years young & friendly as can be. We hope you will TRY taking him home, watching him bloom and hopefully want to adopt him forever.
Glenda
GLENDA: GLENDA is one of the many under-appreciated ruby eyed bunnies. She is a medium full grown spayed girl with a loving personality. In our experience (and we have had a lot of experience) big, white ruby eyed bunnies make wonderful pets and companions. They are mellow and easy going. This wonderful LUCKY girl was caught roaming free in Salinas, CA. & taken to our shelter. She was examined & spayed in Jan.2014 . She may be approx. 1 yr. old. She is a wonder friendly girl & is really learning to like being a spoiled house pet!
Mama Mia
Oh Mama Mia! On January 22, 2014 a very pregnant Mama Mia was dropped off at our city shelter. The shelter called and told us to get ready babies were on their way! We got to the hay barn and stocked up on alfalfa and picked up Mama Mia and her five babies. She will need to stay with her babies for eight more weeks so be looking for Mama and her babies in early April. They are currently in a loving foster home and thriving! Great news! Mama Mia is now spade today 3/12/14 and weening her babies. This girl is ready to for her furever home. Keep your eyes peeled for babies pictures on our adoptable page!
Female Amber colored rabbit
Amber
Amber came us from Yolo County shelter. Wow is she pretty! She is spayed and full grown at 5 to 6 pounds. Her coloring is very unique and she really stands out. She really is ORANGE! She is slowly discovering that humans are pretty great & learning to trust we want to spoil her w/yummy greens & plenty of fresh hay. Toys & treats always help ! She is getting lots of attention & motherly smothering’s in one of our loving foster homes. We have seen her blossom in a very short amount of time. She was spayed on Jan.21, 2014 at the AFRP Clinic. She is also micro chipped.
Petra dutch black and white bunny rabbit
Petra
This beauty, a female Black/White Dutch came all the way from Yolo County. She and her brother, PIPER were surrenders & our rescue was able to help in January 2014. PETRA is apparently young, wants attention & action frequently! Her favorite hobby is shredding cardboard boxes LOL! She will be spayed in February 2014. She tolerates being held very well but definitely likes roaming, leaping, frolicking about then rewarded with a leafy green snack. Very clean with her potty box, just be prepared to have a lot of toys!
lop bunny rabbit
Rachel
Rachel came to us from the Bay area. She is a caramel colored with a soft white belly and white blaze on her forhead. She is a about 4-5 pounds and full grown. Rachel is adorable and ready for her very own home!
Comet
Comet is ready! Comet is soooooo ready for his new home. Like the classic white bunny, the beautiful black bunnies are frequently overlooked. Comet is a good bunny that would love his own quiet home and his own people to rub his head and give him snuggles.
Piper
Piper the talking bunny! Piper is an active young bunny and he talks, yes, he really talks! When you pick him up he talks to you and says "what are we doing now"! As you massage his sweet little head his squeaks turn into bunny purrs! PIPER came into our rescue along with PETRA, both were surrendered at Yolo County shelter in Jan.2014. They immediately called on us & transport was arranged. We quickly got him examined, neutered & micro chipped at our AFRP clinic on Jan.21st. So far we know he loves a slice of banana & apple for treats & of course kale, collard greens & Italian parsley. He is an active young boy who needs attention & time to race about (2 x daily). He might want a lonely female bunny?
Chloe
Chloe
Chloe is an angel of a bunny with beautiful blue eyes and a caramel colored blaze on her back and cheek. Chloe is perfect for a first time bunny owner, no training necessary as she ahs perfect liter box habits, eats lots of hay and loves to come out and play and takes herself home when she is tired! Chloe was surrendered to our local shelter for reasons we can not understand because she is as easy going as it gets!
