1/6/2024: ADOPTION PENDING !! 9 pounds of squish ! This is one of my favorite type of rabbit to foster. If Daisy was a dog, she'd be a Golden retriever instead of a Chihuahua. Larger bunnies usually are slower, mellower, more tolerate. She came into Santa Cruz shelter as a surrender and keeps her condo so clean, she's the easiest bunny to care for! She's a great eater, not fussy and loves her forehead massaged. She's approx. 1.5 yrs. old & was spayed at Avian on 9/25/2023.

This purebred beauty, petite Rex is a score ! Young, neutered (Avian 6/20/23), rescued from roaming a busy street in Salinas, Ca. A dear friend of mine caught & called me right away to help. She bought him EVERYTHING a bunny could ever dream of but she feels her busy work week doesn't give her enough time he deserves. He is currently being spoiled in her home as a foster but we can schedule any time for a meeting in Marina, Ca.

What can I say about this busy bunny! A problem child or just hormonally energetic? She is a wonderful, perfectly potty trained, healthy as ever, 1yr. old. She wants to see the whole world RIGHT NOW. She is scheduled to be spayed 5/31/23 at Avian Exotic clinic. We would prefer to adopt her out after her surgery (for precautions) but it's not a deal breaker for her if she finds her people sooner. She is the friend of Stormy, their owner passed away and the family chose our rescue to care for them until they find that perfect family. They were bonded when both were younger but started fighting (so the owner kept them separate. Each would love to be bonded perhaps w/a neutered male ?? They are happy as can be in the meantime.

8 mos.old, bought from breeder, male Neutered 4/10/23 This blue eyed fella was an owner surrender. She bought him from a breeder when he was a wee 8 weeks old. She's leaving for college & had to give up Lucas & his brother Liam. Since they were not neutered they started fighting, so we separated them & got them both neutered. I have to admit they are not used to being handled, they appear to be slightly timid but not anything a warm safe family can't handle. They will need patience & time, cuddles & a calm comfortable environment. Both are young enough to overcome their insecurities. In fact I have found in all my years, most become super bonded to their human when they feel their empathy toward them. Bunnies are smart!

This is one strong girl surviving a rough spay that concerned so many involved. But within 2 days she was 1000% back to speeding around her play room proving she is a survivor. She was one of 3 out at Monterey Count Animal shelter we pulled the day before Thanksgiving on 11/23/2022. Her spay was on 12/1/2022 and she is fully recovered. She is SLIGHTLY timid but not anything a warm safe home could not fix. I wouldn't recommend for young busy children yet. She's used to my cats and porch playtime and then very content to be put back in her pen for a nap. We don't know the where/when/how she ended up at the shelter, possibly a surrender. She is a beautiful gentle agouti Dutch safely waiting for her person.

Meet WOOF, our recent resident at RRR via Trinkets Memorial Sanctuary. His adopter decided she wanted babies instead, ugh, so he is available again! He is part dog, LOVES PEOPLE & comes running to you for attention. Neutered (9/7/22), perfectly potty trained, eats ANYTHING, fearless, never kicks or nips - the PERFECT BUNNY DOG LOL! He would tolerate a family with kids to provide lots of playtime. We can only observe his age by his activity level = maybe 1 year ? He was a surrender up near Modesto, CA.

This is one heck of a bundle of cuteness! A petite tiny male Lionhead (we believe is full grown). Sometimes referred to a purse pet). Neutered 9.27.22 at Avian Exotic clinic in Monterey, CA., he is looking high & low for a committed FOREVER human/family.. More info. coming soon !

This is one stunning boy and as gentle as he is beautiful! He's mostly shorthair w/a tuff of Lionhead spriglets between his ears. He loves his playtime but loves to nap just as much. And thrives for head massages. He's not a piggy either. He eats a balanced bunny diet, is perfectly potty box trained and is extremely tolerate of my cats. He acts on the young side, appears very healthy, just would love more attention than he gets in rescue. I'm very tempted to bond him with our beauty, Chloe as they look very similar in all aspects of their personalities, size and colors. His neuter date 9/14/22.

As sweet as can be, melts when loved! Beautiful blue eyes, caramel colored markings and older than a baby but not an adult (approx. 6 mos. 8/22/22). She is spayed (at County shelter 6/2/22) and waited a long time before coming to Rescue Rabbits Rock. There's not a mean bone in her loving heart, she just wants her own person to pamper her.

This beautiful young girl luckily ended up at the Monterey County animal shelter where the vet examined & spayed (6/7/2022) her with no problems. Her intake notes: ALL appears NORMAL/HEALTHY. She is young, beautiful & HAPPY. She is an extremely calm girl, does not ever want to be left alone outside. She would be a fantastic Therapy bunny who would thrive in a calm home & a warm lap. She has beautiful blue eyes, loves attention including kisses.

Our co rescue group took in some homeless babies! Received text: "Hello, I was wondering if you take in baby bunnies. We had been seeing an adult rabbit around my yard and it kinda wanders around a few other neighbors lawns. Tried catching it but no luck. Two days ago I spotted and caught a baby bunny in my yard and yesterday with some help I caught two more. A neighbor said she had spotted 4 babies but I have yet to see anymore. I picked them up some pellets and alfalfa for the time being that I find somewhere to take them." These 3 darlings are SAFE, being handled and being spoiled as they should. They are domestic, well adapted siblings too young to accurately sex (we don't want any accidents!). They are currently being taken care of by Randy at Trinkets Memorial Sanctuary in Modesto but we transfer all the time, so if you are seriously interested, please email: lisabunnybuns@aol.com They arrived into rescue May 4th 2022 and Born 3/22/2022.

Litl Taco is only approx. 6mos. young now. He's such a beautiful color, a soft taupe, but don't let that fool you! Since being in our rescue, we have had time to get to know this high energy boy. He's definitely been a challenge BUT is finally settling into a routine he likes. He did bite me upon arrival, when I reached into his condo. He was extremely hormonal & defensive (common when left out in the world alone to defend himself as a baby). He has since been neutered & showing so much improvement in his personality. He LOVES to RUN, I even gave him full large garden privilege's for approx. 2 hrs. every morning. Then when I call him, he comes running back into the porch area. This bunny is going to be a gem, eventually. But due to the bite episode, I cannot in good conscious, adopt to a family with small children. I believe he would adapt to a dog as he loves my cats. Every single day he appears to becoming a more squishy, attention seeking sweetheart.

Currently in " FOSTER to ADOPT" Meet gracious Gracie! She has been at the shelter since Dec. 2021 and wanted OUT! On 3/16/2022 we were finally able to help and she is blooming by the day. She may be a great bunny to bond w/a lonely boy bunny or a human who can spoil & cater to her. She is spayed & microchipped and although unknown, appears to be 2-4 yrs. old. A quote from her rescuer: "She was a stray in Sand City, unlike many of the buns out there she was very curious about me and seemed to know that humans mean food. We were able to grab her while she munched on apple. She was pretty overwhelmed the day I had her but once you held her, she’d melt into you."

ADOPTION PENDING ! Shelly came from our local shelter and is approx. 4yrs old. She is ready to go, spayed & microchipped. If you're looking for a couch potato, litter box trained perfect, chilled out bunny, Shelly is perfect. She was an owner surrender who "didn't have time" for her anymore. She isn't fussy or crazy in any way. Just likes to hop about for awhile, sniff a few things, nibble on snacks and look adorable!

We recently rescued 5 bunnies from our Mty county shelter. Surprisingly, every single one is AMAZINGLY friendly, ready to move in easy. POTTY TRAINED, LOVE people, 100% perfect house bunnies ! SASHA was spayed at Avian on 1/12/2022. This young girl has to be one of the most loving bunnies ever. She would rather get head rubs than eat her banana!!! This sweetheart will only leave our rescue to a person who needs pure loyal, unconditional devotion. We require her to be in the main room where all the action is as she is extremely social.

Bella is kind of a big girl at around 7lbs. She was spayed on 8/18/2021. She uses a litter box pretty well. All pee in the box and most all of the poops !! She's a tough, sturdy, healthy girl, age unknown but not a baby & not old !

Just arrived 9/17/2021 from our Monterey County Animal shelter! SPECTACULAR multi colored REX. This semi large girl is actually a love bug, you could give her head massages all day long. During her 1st few days here, she hated to be picked up but now that we've been working w/her, she tolerates it incredibly well ! Her spay date is Oct.7, 2021 at Avian. She is a sweet healthy girl, just in need of her own family.

It's with a heavy heart I have been put in this position, to decide to put this awesome trio up for adoption. I opened my front door at 6:30am April 23rd and found a huge carrier w/3 bunnies inside. I checked my surveillance cameras and was able to see a couple carry them up, set them down and run off. I KNOW these people, I helped them when they flew the little white bunny all the way from Korea! I KNOW they are enduring HARDSHIP right now (divorce, homeless) and I KNOW they LOVE these bunnies! They did the best thing for the bunnies because they knew I would take care of them. But due to some of my own physical disabilities, a trio is too much for me to handle. Brittany is a medium large female, approx. 4 years old. She came to our program with Morris, they were semi bonded but she was not too happy since Morris hadn't been neutered (he is now). We separated them & she bloomed!! She's an excellent easy girl and so beautiful w/her golden markings. Perfectly potty trained and loves salads & treats. She would fit in a quieter home (as many of our bunnies prefer).

This SWEET gentle baby boy was born Dec. 24,2020, Xmas eve to a momma bunny we rescued just in time. There were 8 healthy babies born, all survived beautifully & have been hand raised. They have never experienced fear or danger so they TRUST humans. They are indoor babies only top committed families. Bubba is the happiest most entertaining baby, NEEDS LOTS of human interaction! His neuter appt. at Avian 3/23/2021.

This 6 mos. old sister of Yin and Tinky, is the largest of the 3 sisters which were abandoned on my front porch in a rubber tub. Sadly all 3 spent 6 hrs in this tub, left outside with NO food or water. She is definitely the boss, fearless and likes cats !! Her spay date is 2/2021 at Avian but she is available now.

GORGEOUS! This precious boy is all alone but luckily he found the right rescues to help him stay safe & healthy until we find him his own forever people. He was rescued up in Modesto (where he currently is) but we can transport him if anyone in our area wants him. He is already neutered, bags packed and ready to move into a better life. He's young and loves cats!

Due to the Covid virus, the family has been forced to move & sadly decided to surrender their pets. He is a happy boy (soon to be neutered) and we are happy to be able to be here for him. ZUNA arrived 11/20/2020 from a Salinas backyard situation (along w/TABA). She was living outside, free roaming, digging burrows, living with LOTS of chickens. Neither received much human contact but they were taken care of. She definitely has her guard up, she's young & doesn't know what a safe, loving, house rabbit can enjoy . Our volunteer had to catch them both with a net & quickly transported them to my house. Experienced bunny adopters only, this one will not be adopted for young children! She WILL adapt given time, love & patience. ZUNA is not yet spayed but is available now for adoption, we will cover her spay as soon as our vet can fit her into schedule. OR she is available for fostering to help her RELAX and let her guard down.

We have a beautiful CONTINENTAL GIANT available, needing to be re homed. TITAN came to our rescue w/8 other Continental Giants in 2020 at approx. 1yr. of age. ADOPTION PENDING! We picked up this beautiful Agouti girl from the Monterey City/County shelter on 10/3/2020. She ended up in the night drop box and was held as a stray waiting for her owner to claim her. When no one called, she was sent to our rescue. She is definitely a domestic sweet girl, settling in after being lost & alone to fend for herself. She ate all her greens & banana treat the 1st night we had her ! Very clean, potty trained too. She needs some quiet time to undo her experience but there's not a mean bone in her body. I've promised her she will be well fed, safe and loved from here on forward. Spay date: 10/20/2020 at Avian.

Hello my human friends! My name is Buster and I am so happy I am still here to share my story with you. On Aug. 27th, 2020 my human family rushed me to the vet because I hurt my back. They weren't able to help me recover (they opted for euthanasia) but the staff at Avian decided to contact Rescue Rabbits Rock to see if they would take care of me while I healed. I am so lucky they said YES, otherwise I would not be here to spread my gratitude. After being in mandatory bed rest for a few weeks, I healed beautifully & the vets gave me a clean bill of health !! I am the happiest young boy on this planet. Now I am looking for a super duper family who will love me forever & ever. I love to Binky, I'm clean, friendly and with time, can be taught a few tricks. Introducing a very lucky boy, Roo! This young fella was found in the streets of Marina, Ca. and was easily caught. Obviously a pet bunny so we tried to find his owners but sadly no one claimed him. We set him up in a foster home & he was neutered & microchipped at Avian on 9/16/2020. He's one happy young boy now, fully recovered and ready to find his special humans. We have no idea who his parents were so we have no idea if he's still growing or his exact age (estimating under 1 year). But he is a Big gentle, sweet, loving bunny. He adores attention & acts like a dog LOL!

Received this email from the Hollister shelter 9/16/2020: "I wanted to reach out to you in regards to a friendly, young rabbit in our care which we are looking to secure rescue for. A069046 has not received a name yet, however she is so sweet! When she was brought into our care, she was a little fearful. She was found as a stray here in the city of Hollister and she was unfortunately not reclaimed. She is small in size and appears young". We sent our volunteer out and ID #A069046 is currently safe & being loved in a bunny savvy home. She will be spayed & micro-chipped (included w/adoption) as soon as she is old enough. We accepted NILLA from the Hollister, CA. shelter. NILLA - ID#A068665 Entered at the shelter since Jul 20, 2020. "I am with the Hollister Animal Shelter. I am contacting your rescue in hopes of securing rescue for a very sweet bunny in our care named “Nilla”. “Nilla” was found in a resident’s backyard in San Benito County. She was a bit nervous when she arrived on our care, however she has adjusted very well. Since her intake date, no owners have come forward. “Nilla” is on the larger side and loves to eat her timothy pellets. She is also fairly easy to handle." After a week of getting to know Nella, she is one energtic gal, always ready for action! But she melts when given head, cheek rubs. I believe she is young, and will grow (could possibly be a Flemish ). She was spayed & microchipped on 8/4/2020. UPDATE 7/14/2020: Malia is currently in a Foster to Adopt pending bonding. MALIA came to our program on from the SPCA in Sept. 2019 along with her 3 other siblings, Morton, Flicka & Polley - an owner surrender with an accidental litter. All have been in a safe, warm, loving foster home for over a month while they grew old enough - and now here they are, READY to find homes. They are approx. 2-3 months old as of 9/2019. She was spayed & microchipped 10/1/2019 at Avian. They were raised in our foster care & are all used to kids, dogs & cats! Malia was adopted in March 2020 as a hopeful bunwife, but the bonding didn't work out so she is back with us until her new family comes along.

Ghost is a very lucky young male, neutered and Microchipped on 7/20/20. We came across a random Facebook post of someone seeing a bunny outside of The Black bear restaurant in Salinas, Ca. A couple people shared until the right person saw it. She gathered some friends & after a few days in attempts, was able to catch this pretty boy. He has a torn ear but it's a cosmetic badge that proves he's a survivor. He appears quite young (maybe 6 mos.) and is the most gentle & sweetest ever. He's safe until someone falls for him.

This large beauty is a rare mix of Lionhead and Giant Flemish. She and her siblings were surrendered to the SPCA the summer of 2019 as babies. She is friendly sweet and large for a lionhead !!

This TEENY baby girl was found and brought to our friends at Trinkets Memorial Sanctuary, then delivered to our rescue on 6/9/2020. She was adopted before we even posted her on website! She was named Venus & will be staying at my house until she is a tad older (she's way too young to send off to adopters).

ADOPTION PENDING 6/13/2020 Welcome back Amos ! Our amazingly LUCKY boy was found & rescued down in Santa Barbara, CA. He was transferred to Santa Maria shelter where they checked for a micro-chip and Wah La, it came back to our system !! He was adopted from us in 2014 and how he ended up being found as a stray is heartbreaking. BUT we were contacted & immediately found transport to bring him home. He is being overly pampered in a foster home but is already to be adopted asap (he is neutered). He is approx. 6 years old now and has been given yet another chance to live a safe happy healthy life!

Twyla came to our rescue with her brother Thornton (already adopted). Both were caught as strays in Patterson, CA. on 4/21/2020. Our rescue partner transported them down to our rescue on 4/22/2020. Both appear quite young (4-5 mos.?). TYWLA is a sweet gentle baby girl who needs a quiet peaceful home so she can blossom into a perfect house bunny. She needs to be indoor only while she is still so small. She's a magnificent reddish golden brown & loves to be cuddled. (May be Thrianta breed mix) She was spayed and micro-chipped at Avian on 4/27/2020 and is ready to find her own family!

These 2 happily bonded bunnies were a surrender to our program on 3/15/2020 during the Virus crisis. They are just about the sweetest pair ever, so easy to care for (since they have each other). They were spoiled at their previous home, a mom & daughter, who wanted to insure we would find them the very best home. They are used to a quiet indoor environment, love their hay & greens & devour our Lavatera branches! BUDDY is the brown male (neutered) lop and Princess Leia, the (spayed) grey female Lionhead. Approx. 4 yrs young now, perfect age!

These 2 beautiful "Flops" are currently in hanging out in Modesto, but can easily be transported down to Monterey if they are the ones for you. Both are spayed & waiting patiently for a forever home. They love to relax in a bunny proof yard, as you can see ! (Paris is the white, left bun pic & Nicole is the brown right pic) Mellow, gentle, patient, and of course adorable.

On Sat. 2/1/2020 a family walked into our show at Petsmart with this bunny in a lidded plastic box (with no towels, no nothing & soaked with pee) owner wanted to surrender. So we do not know where this bunny originally came from, but he was underweight, craving love, food, and the comforts bunnies require. He is the most gentle loving little boy, full grown but quite petite. He was neutered & micro-chipped at Avian Exotic Clinic on 02/04/2020. If you are a family looking for small bunny for their small children, Beanie is one of our suggestions.

This petite, SWEET litl dude arrived into our program Sun 1/26/2020, the same day Kobe Bryan's helicopter crashed. (Also arriving from same rescue in Modesto, CA. is Gigi (aka Gianna)). Hard to believe that this litl' boy is a dad, but is now neutered/micro-chipped (At Avian on 1/28/2020) and ready to find a girlfriend or family to smoother him with love & toys. He's super calm, easy to hold, clean and of course adorable. He's full grown, agae unknown but he does Binkies !!!

MEET baby NALAH one of ONLY 3 LEFT! (Ellie, Goose, Asia) and Momma Suki Here are our 5 babies that are 8 wks. old on Tuesday Oct. 22 2019 who are now ready to leave the nest and onto forever homes. These adorable baby bunnies were born in the early hours of August 22,2019 at the Monterey , CA. SPCA. All of them are healthy thriving babies that are now ready for their own family. They aren't quite old enough to be spay and neutered but that is included in the adoption fee. These 5 munchkins have all been handled and lived daily, exposed to our other rabbits and our dogs. They are eating alfalfa hay right now (while they are growing) and rabbit pellets and they've been introduced to appropriate fruits and veggies. Their momma, Suki, is recovering from a repaired tooth abscess. Big thanks to Avian and Exotic for taking her in so quickly and getting her back home so quickly to her awaiting babies! GOOSE has got to be one of my favorite bunnies in my 30 yrs of rescue. He and his 2 sisters (ASIA & ELLIE) are all hilarious in the way they play, binky and simply entertain! They are all rather large but only because they have longer legs than most bunnies and big ears lol! GOOSE doesn't mine being picked up at all & loves to "talk" when he's being held. He's so easy & playful. He is a teenager now, born at the Monterey SPCA on 8/22/2019 (a litter of 5). Unfortunately his momma succumbed to major teeth/jaw infections after enduring 2 surgeries shortly after giving birth. But she lived long enough to fully nurse her babies. This litter has been very special to us. We would love to find a family to give him the ultimate home, safe, pampered, LOVED. Goose was neutered at Avian Exotic clinic on 11/19/2019.

Arrived into our rescue 11/1/2019 from Salinas City shelter. FEMALE, BEAUTIFUL! Super friendly, no fear, a true sweet gem considering she arrived as a stray from our shelter. Was definitely a domestic house pet, litter trained, eats good salads/hay/pellets/treats! Another amazingly unfazed, chilled out happy girl! Not sure of age but approx. 1yr ?? Full grown, petite, longs for love from humans !! HOPPER was spayed & micro-chipped at Avian on 11/12/2019

This petite little girl was found on "Renee" street up near Modesto, CA. Lucky for her she found herself at Trinkets Memorial Sanctuary who then transferred her to our rescue on 10/20/2019. She is spayed & petite, gorgeous & determined and catching her can be a challenge !! Being lost in the streets can't be fun, but she survived, proving she is a smart, healthy girl. These adorable bunnies know they can get away with anything being so cute & all. She would love to be in an X pen rather than a cage, loves any food we serve her (Kale, Italian Parsley, bite size of apple and banana). Beautifully potty trained and non destructive - her ONLY issue is having people reach into "her" cage, she grunts to warn you (it certainly works!) to leave her area alone. Solution to this is take her out to play & clean her cage while she's out. She needs lots of exercise time, we suggest keeping her indoors only. Used to cats, would probably accept a dog as well. Age unknown but behavior is young. Since she was spayed she has calmed down quite a bit. She does like being held !

MALIA came to our program on from the SPCA in Sept. 2019 along with her 3 other siblings, Morton, Flicka & Polley - an owner surrender with an accidental litter. All have been in a safe, warm, loving foster home for over a month while they grew old enough - and now here they are, READY to find homes. They are approx. 2-3 months old as of 9/2019. She was spayed & microchipped 10/2/2019 at Avian. They were raised in our foster care & are all used to kids, dogs & cats! Malia is simply as sweet as ever.

Poor litl' Polley was the runt of the litter, but managed to wiggle in with her siblings and survive strong & healthy. She is a mix of airplane ears to lop ears depending on her mood. She was spayed at Avian on 10/3/2019 (and microchipped) after arriving from SPCA in Jan 2019 (she was born there). She's been with 5 other playmates in a deluxe foster home, but is ready to embark into her own new long life either as a solo companion for a human or an easy to bond bunwife.

On 9/07/2020 a sad young boy had to surrender Parker back to our rescue due to financial difficulties from Covid-19. We promised to rehome him. Here is his original post from 1 yr. ago: Meet our adorable PARKER, just neutered & ready to roll out to start a splendid life! He's been in foster w/his brother & 4 other teenagers of same age. He's quite social. He was saved by a rescue group in Modesto, CA. as a tiny baby, has been pampered & spoiled in a foster home until he was legal to adopt out (now). This is one very lucky bunny to arrive in our program on 8/29/2019 via King City, CA. Owner reached out to us, overwhelmed with kittens breeding and this one time loved house pet bunny. Poor Mortica was moved out into a hutch, left alone outside with very little food. Her kids had lost interest ....... so we expected the worst but so pleasantly surprised when we accepted this beautiful clean, healthy girl. It took so mmany calls, emails, texts but ALL pets at this house were saved, attended to and some transported to other cat rescues. We are so relieved to have been able to respond to a family in need, who reached out for help before things progressed into a major situation. Mortica was spayed/micro-chipped at Avian & Exotic clinic on 9/12/2019. She may be approx. 2 yrs. old and is happy & healthy!

FLICKA came to our program on from the SPCA in Sept. 2019 along with her 3 other siblings, Morton, Malia & Polley - an owner surrender with an accidental litter. She was spayed & microchipped 10/1/2019 at Avian. They were raised in our foster care & are all used to kids, dogs & cats!

This is another pair we bonded, from the Monterey SPCA picked up on 9/2/2019. These 2 looked so cute together! GARFIELD is the female with the cutest white nose & a mix of Harlequin in her. The male, ODIE, is a mix of Lionhead, fairly scruffy looking but in the cutest way !! ODIE is the friendlier of the 2, he's easy all the way around, but GARFIELD is a tad protective of their space (and her husbun). After her spay & keeping her on a routine, she will settle in and realize she is safe. Right now she feels she needs to protect her domain. Unfortunately we do not know who the parents are or their ages but these 2 appear to be young. Both spay/neuters/microchips were performed at Avian & Exotic Clinic on 9/26/2019. We expect them to be small to medium in size. We are currently promoting adopting in pairs because the bunnies need constant social interaction, are never lonely, tend to be happier, healthier and easier all the way around.

Received from SPCA on 9/2/2019, a baby boy, almost an orange color, demands attention !!! This cute little dud is a fire pistol, tons of energy & curiosity galore. LOVES playing with my kitten, would prefer to have him with multiple pets and lots of social activity all the time. He's approx 2 mos. old, was neutered and microchipped at Avian Exotic clinic on 9/10/20129. He's one of my favorite colors/personality. NOTHING scares him. After he's done racing around, he does love cuddles.

Momma Tahlula & her daughter, Lilah, are CONTINENTAL GIANTS. We may never get these again, and at this time only momma is available (prefer she can be a suitable bunwife) as she is still young at 1yr 7mos. of age. Her spay/micro-chip date 9/5/2019 was at Avian Exotic clinic. These 2 GORGEOUS HUGE bunnies came all the way from Colorado & were delivered to our doorstep by a professional pet transporter on 9/26/2019. These aren't your normal house pet bunnies so the best adopter qualified (with experience) should take them on ! NOT suggesting this as a 1st time bunny owner. They can grow to 20-40 pounds!

We picked up this beautiful female from our SPCA on 8/22/2019. She was surrendered in a group from an owner who had 2 litters. This is the ONLY black/grey (the rest are wht/black). She is amazingly friendly and just plain beautiful !! There's not a unkind thing to say about her, she is used to lots of social animals, noise & people. She's approx. 3 mos old as of 8/22/2019. Rosie is a gorgeous golden/Red tan Holland lop with beaming blue eyes. She came as a surrender from my child hood town of Danville Ca. and is approx. 2 yrs old. She is being surrendered due to family circumstances where they decided she needed more attention. She is arriving Sat. 8/17 at the "Clear the Shelters" event at Petsmart, Sand City (11am-3pm). Although she is not yet spayed (we cover that with the Adopt fee), she can be adopted now. She and her sibling sister are singles, born in the Spring of 2017. This adorable 3 yr. old neutered cutey is approx. 4 yrs old and lost his bunwife last year. We hope to find him a new bunny girl friend or a human willing to snuggle enough with him. He's a cuddle bug, mellow, perfect age. Not too hyper and not old at all. And he's so CUTE! He simply needs a little exercise & fresh salads on a daily basis. Such a Cutey! Dreamer came to the Salinas city shelter on 6/25/2019 caught on Main St. Salinas. He's full grown, yet small, age unknown (maybe 1-2 years). He was neutered and micro-chipped at Avian on 7/3/2019 so he is ready to move into your home and hearts today. We just rescued him so we will get more personality traits posted as they present themselves. He's a domestic, relies on humans to provide, friendly male.

Toodles arrived into our program via Salinas City shelter, along with 3 siblings. They were tiny and sweet as ever. All were adopted except the sweetest of all, litl cuddly Toodles! She comes up for pets & attention, loves kisses and pets, plays with the house kitten & fearless of the larger cats. She is very well potty trained, keeps her "space" CLEAN! Loves to sit on top of her wooden Box. Willow balls, Tunnels & cardboard boxes are her favorite toys. Approx 3 mos. young as of July 2019. Toodles spay/microchip date: 9/3/2019

Louise is a 6 year old single spayed female looking for a companion to snuggle up to because she LOVES to be hugged and cuddled. She has one quirk about her, she “honks” (don’t know what that means LOL) !!! She thoroughly enjoys her afternoon siestas (her pic shows) and salads served on a routine schedule. Amelia is approx. a 1 year old female who is waiting for the right family to discover her. She was spayed/micro-chipped 6/27/2019 at Avian. She has endured some major heat waves in Fresno, CA. but will be relieved to come live in the cooler temps in Monterey county! Come greet & meet her upon her arrival at Petsmart, Sand City 6/22/2019. She is happily accumulating to being a spoiled as ever RRR bunny, playing in our tubes & tunnels on the bunny porch. Tolerates the kitten quite well! She is full grown but not very big at all. We hope she can find her family soon so she can settle in & take control !!

We picked this beautiful Dutch boy up from Monterey County shelter on June 16th & had him neutered/micro-chipped at Avian on June 18th. He is still adjusting to all his recent chaos: being found/rescued off the streets of Salinas (Pesante rd), taken to shelter, taken to rescue foster home, taken to Avian for surgery all in 3 days time. He's settling in now before he makes his 1st appearance at Petsmart where he will be available for adoption. PLEASE come meet this small, golden brown, Bambi eyed lonely lost boy! Age unknown, our guess is approx. 1year.

LARS is a beautiful "Chinchilla" color silver ticked male and apparently, by the way he acts, rather young. But we believe full grown. These pics are from the day we picked him up from the Monterey County shelter and he looks a tad underweight but that will change once we get him properly fed (we're good at adding some bulk!!). He was microchipped & neutered at Avian on 6/5/2019. He is friendly so far, we don't know much yet. He's eating/pooping/acting just like a happy bunny. He is a little hormonal but that will dissipate over the next few weeks.

What a pair! A lop & a Lionhead who fell in love !!!! SHAG is the cuddle bug male Lionhead & Tag is the thumping female lop but they are very bonded. Both are spayed/neutered and READY to find their new palace & family. Both are gorgeous, easy, happy, friendly, potty box trained. Age is unknown but maybe 2-3 years (perfect age, not too young & not old). They were reluctantly surrendered due to moving to an area with dangerous predators so for their safety, the owners wanted them to be protected & safe.

What a character our new boy Whiskey is! So fun, happy, ready to rumble any time! Whiskey came from a very nice lady in Fresno who saved him, pampered him and called on us to help neuter & find him the best home ever. We promised we would. He was surrendered to her by a very nice man in Fresno who a stray rabbit adopted him and unknown to him she was pregnant with very cute babies. The man could not keep all of the babies as they were not getting along and going from no bunnies to 4 bunnies he couldn’t handle it. . He is very friendly, great for a house full of kids, pets, or possibly a husbun for a lonely female (spayed only). Oh and he's handsome too! He is a baby at 3 months old on Memorial day 5/26/2019 and was neutered at Avian on 5/30/2019 (micro-chipped too).

We LOVE BIG white bunnies! They make the best pets of all bunnies (typically). We have never had one returned or surrendered because they are so amazing. This beautiful girl has never known life outside a small cage - she came from a hoarding confiscation in Oct. 2018 where she was being bred for her fur & food. She lucked out and wound up in our rescue (thanks to our local SPCA investigators who rescued approx. 50). We will be spoiling her until she chooses her new family, who will promise her a life of love, laughter, long life and shall she will never be in danger again! She was spayed & microchipped at SPCA and weighs 10.8 pounds. We do not know her age but she is a full grown adult.

I received a late afternoon call from the Porsche dealership in Sand City on 4/15/2019. A lady had seen a bunny race across their parking lot & hop up under an engine. The nice employees took a look, saw & caught the bunny. She was so scared. They looked us up and arranged delivery, and here she is! The 1st couple days she squeezed herself into the tiniest places to hide. But a week later, she's starting to act like a happier bunny knowing she is safe. She hadn't been eating any proper food but that's all cleared up now, she actually begs for her greens but her favorite is the Orchard grass hay! We are waiting a couple more weeks for her to settle in before getting her spayed & micro-chipped but she would LOVE a gentle quiet home as soon as possible. She loves to be cuddled & kissed! What a gem! This beautiful SWEETHEART was picked up from our own Monterey County animal shelter on 4/6/2019 and delivered to our adoption show. SWEET SWEET SWEET! Must of been a very loved pet at one point, she seems to crave pets & attention. So gentle and happy, no signs of a bad past whatsoever !! SCOOBY - ID#A110831 My name is Scooby and I am a male, cream and brown Shorthaired Rabbit. His color is called sable point... though his fur is sun bleached... he will be very pretty when he molts out! He already is gorgeous! He is a petite adorable litl boy, still adjusting to how and why his life has been crazy, but he is settling in beautifully. He wants love, gentle snuggle time and treats. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year.. I have been at the shelter since Apr 02, 2019. He is now in RRR care and was microchipped and neutered at Avian on 4/10/2019

Momma MOLLY is the mom of all her babies that did not survive (except baby Betty), from the confiscation of a breeder for their fur - SAD but SAVED! Molly was spayed at Monterey SPCA in Dec. 2018 and she has forgiven her past and is excited for her future. After spending a few weeks in our foster home, Molly has proven to be, like most white bunnies, a snuggly love. She never knew the life of a house rabbit before and she is absolutely loving it. She is as potty trained as ever, comes up for treats and approves of being held. She has earned & deserves royalty for the rest of her life! We have learned she is a beautiful SATIN breed w/Tattoo in her ear. A former breeder explained " Their guard hairs are transparent so they look extra shiny!" Makes her even more special, she is silky soft!

This brother/sister duo are the perfect pair for new bunny owners! All trained, spayed/neutered, over their destruction teenage years but young enough to entertain. And so easy to care for! This pair arrived in to our Program May 13th, 2018 from Fresno, CA. The white neutered male, MILKTEA, is a squishy sweetheart while his sister, BOBA, is a bundle of energy! She loves to play with her bell ball, tossing it all over (usually ends up in her water dish)! They also both LOVE chomping down on their "Snak Shak" log. She was spayed (5/23/18 at AFRP) they would love to be adopted so they can settle in. These 2 came from a caring lady who rescued them, but just needed help finding them homes. They appear to be young adults, fully grown.

From Santa Maria, CA. arrived 2/13/2019 into our program

Tinsel is a beautiful grey "Chinchilla" Rabbit who came into our County shelter 1/26/2019 He was neutered on 2/6/2019 at Avian Exotic Clinic. In the short time we've had him, we have found him to be a friendly, pre potty trained friendly fella, young. Guessing he must of been a pet at one time. Eats all the typical bunny greens/treats like he's had them before (usually "breeder buns do not know what treats are). We're having fun fattening him up, poor boy was quite skinny when County rescued him.

Another we plucked up from Salinas City shelter along with Geepers and Gelo, Go-Go is the "prettiest" look wise. He has a tuff of lionhead on his forehead between his ears, just to make him stand out from the crowd. He is also petite, possibly full grown but apparently young. All were well cared for as they are clean, well fed, and gentle. This sweetheart was neutered Jan. 29, 2019 at Avian Exotic clinic. He is always begging for attention, always ready for some action. He will become a tad lazier after the neuter surgery kicks in!

We picked this beauty up from Salinas city shelter on Jan.22, 2019 and named her GEEPERS. She is medium size and gentle as can be. More pics & info as we get to know her, but she obviously was a well cared for pet before. She is very clean, tidy, non-fussy eater. Perfect for a 1st time bunny adopter. This cuddle bug had her spay at Avian 1/29/2019. Geepers is an amazingly calm trusting bunny who has never known fear and we would love to find a home so she can remain the carefree trusting girl she is. She will sit & let you pick her up, no chasing or hiding. Yet she still loves to hop about & explore. Did I mention CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!

There's nothing better than a sweet white bunny! Something about these calm, soothing, mystical white rabbits just cannot be described with words. Once you have one, you will not be able to understand how you survived without one. In general, nearly all Big white rabbits are the most laid back, easy going, tolerate breeds. The best choice for a first time owner, the best choice for smaller children. Their eyes are always beautiful when you see they are usually light bolue with a rim of pink. Sometimes they look lavender. This girl was an owner surrender, approx. 6 yrs old (prime age now a days) and was a pet after being a school pet. She's extremely used to noise & kids. And the easiest to clean as they tend to be a tad lazy. Please consider & call to meet (831) 883-1734 She arrived in our program on 1/17/19.

There is a beautiful adorable sweet girl under this dirty, knotted fur. Sally & her friend Jack, were saved from the streets of Salinas by the Salinas City animal control & we picked them up 1/9/2019. They are strong survivors to say the least, enduring cold scary nights, no food source, all alone. They are SAFE now, warm, cleaned up and Sally was spayed at Avian on Jan. 15, 2019. Both are already using their potty boxes, eating healthy & are wanting attention! We have them being housed separate but if you are interested in bonding them together, should be very easy. How I wish they could tell use their story! (Jack was neutered same day). Both are ready to go to a better life.

Our 1st rescue of 2019, Meet Fernadilly! This beautiful girl was lucky to be scooped up off the streets of by the Salinas City animal control. We took her into our program Jan. 4th and had had her spayed at Avian Exotic Clinic Jan.7th. We were slightly concerned because whenever we pet her, she "talked", kinda of a squeaky sound. But she would demand attention & pets. Maybe she's thanking us? She has a clean bill of health, just needs the home of her dreams & the promise of never being homeless again. She is a full grown adult but we do not know her age. Currently a tad skinny so we will be happily spoiling her to fatten her up!

This baby boy, Elian the Elf, is just about the sweetest most sought after request for adopting. He is approx. 6 mos but still has that baby fur & bay personality. Full of playful funny antics as he learns what & what not he can do, he's endless entertainment. Must be an indoor pet only. He was a surrender, bought at a Pet zoo event in Monterey, CA. He is already eating Orchard grass & luscious dark greens (Kale, Parsley, Willow, spinach). We will be having him neutered soon (comes w/adopt fee). He will be snapped up quickly so call Lisa soon! This frisky black/white male Dutch was picked up from Monterey County shelter by our volunteer on 12/1/2018. Being very hormonal, we quickly got him neutered at Avian on 12/4/2018 and he is SLOWLY becoming mellow. He is a very friendly happy boy, apparently young, semi prtite but not yet litter trained. We have set up 2 potty boxes to help this process. He loves any food, easy as apple pie but the potty training is the only issue (this will be resolved with routine). He has twinkly blue eyes & unique markings!

These 2 are brother & sister baby teenagers & we want them to remain together. Saved by a kind human. They need to be fixed soon (which we provide in the adoption process) and were from a rabbit abandonment in the Bay area. The person is catching and asking for rescue... these 2 were hand raised. The litl grey bunny has a hole in his ear (is healed & harmless), it just makes him that more unique! Both were spayed/neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on 11/30/2018 at approx. 3 mos. of age

9/1/2020 UPDATE: Our dear sweet Ruby was sent to a foster home in March during the 1st covid-19 lock down. Yesterday we were notified she is coming back to us, as a bonded bride! So now we must find these newly weds a forever home! Her husband, Dutch MAX, is approx. 3 yrs old. 4/2020 UPDATE: Ruby is currently bonded and in a Foster/Foster to Adopt home. 8/27/2019: Surrendered back due to financial/housing changes :( ORIGINAL POST: oh dearest RUBY! One heck of a lucky bunny. Was a stray who found a nice person who tossed some food out in her yard. Unfortunately one day she noticed the neighbors dog had attacked her, nearly chewing off her right hind leg. The human rushed her down to Pet Specialists (of course it was weekend eve) & paid for her to stay until Avian Exotic clinic opened Mon. AM. (They had a tough decision to make, either HOPE a rescue group took her in or have her euthanized.) Rescue Rabbits Rock then took her officially into our program. Her foot was treated/bandaged & we brought her home that night. Every few days we returned to vet to have her foot rewrapped/cleaned. We were expecting a full leg amputation but Ruby started to heal up beautifully (perfect choice of antibiotics). After 3 weeks she had the surgery, only her toes were damaged & were removed (we had her spayed same time). She came home that night & actually ate dinner & pooped! This sweetheart has a determined will to survive! We believe she is young, 1yr ??

This pair of bunnies are simply delightful! Both are sweet, immaculate, eat simple basics and are excellent for a 1st time bunny owner. The whiter bunny, Harley likes to give licks & Honey, a tad shy, finally comes around & has such a gentle personality. From the owner: "I met you for a brief moment at pet smart in Seaside. I have two rabbits that need a home. Their names are Harley and Honey. Harley (Wht) is around 3 almost 4 and Honey (brn) 2 almost 3. They are BEST friends and both have been fixed at Avian Exotic clinic. They have seen Dr.Wells a few times as I had to have a couple back teeth pulled before (Both are 100% healthy & NO special needs). I have to move and can’t have animals. I would love for them to be able to find a wonderful loving home. They free roam during the day when I’m home and are in their cage at night."

Frito is 1 of 3 Rexes brought to Our County shelter & there are no words that describe how sweet all 3 of these are! They were obviously well cared for house pets, gentle & adapted to being around people and cats (not sure about dogs yet). Unbelievably the softest fur of all breeds, they are an instant relaxant after a long day. They are all inquisitive, snooping around checking everything out. They don't mind being held, they love to beg for attention & treats. And the cleanest ever !!! We are so grateful to be given the chance to find them some new families to love them. They all appear young, healthy & happy! Neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic 10/24/2018.

I am so beautiful, to me, can't you see ? My name is SPORT, my brother bit my private parts so I had to heal but was finally just neutered 10/22/2018 at Avian Exotic Clinic. I'm still a baby though and love people, cats & attention. I am a good boy, using my potty box & eating anything as long as it's dark green, fresh & healthy. I was picked up from the Monterey County shelter on Aug. 31st 2018 with my brother. We were both litl babies but started bickering so to prevent further injury, we were separated. I want my own home please, maybe a bunwife in my future? I love to give licks !!!

Boys will be boys unfortunately. We rescued 2 baby brothers who came into our Monterey County shelter on Aug. 31st, 2018. Then the hormones kicked in and they started to bicker, so to prevent future injury to either, we had to separate them. Snoopy was neutered & micro-chipped 9/27/2018 at AFRP clinic. He is the friendliest little guy, Happy all the time! Both are accustomed to being pet, picked up, around cats & busy homes. They have never encountered fear and we hope to keep it that way for them. They are indoors only please. They require attention and lots of playtime. Snoopy does not like parsley but kale & Romaine lettuce are a hit!

We picked this boy up from Salinas City shelter on 9/8/2018 and he was definitely ALL MALE - He thankfully was neutered at AFRP Clinic on 9/13/2018 (and micro chipped). He has definitely has mellowed and will continue to. He's maybe 1-2 years old and is friendly, just needs to get some pent up energy out. He doesn't kick, nip or show any resistance to people so given a few months and a routine set in place, he'll be the perfect house bunny! He'd probably be great with dogs, cats and kids, he's definitely not afraid of anything.

I am reaching out to you because I know you will find Junior the best home ever. For a while now I can no longer continue to keep the bunnies due to increasing health issues. Junior is a wonderful healthy sassy bunny (just had his annual physical this last March) and have been 100% spoiled. He loves to eat (never fussy about his food). Junior is fed daily 5-6 different types of hay, variety of veggies twice a day and a small handful of pellets. He lives in an x-pen and let out twice daily to exercise for about a total of 2-3 hours. He interacts best with you when you meet him down at his ground level - I feel he would do well as a free roam bunny. He loves to be petted and given a entire body massage (he will just melt). Junior has the best flop ever and is always full of energy. It breaks my heart but I need to watch my health but feeling more at ease knowing that you’re the best person to find him a new wonderful home." ORIGINAL POST: 'm only 6 mos old and have endured the neuter process at Avian on 8/28/2018. Glad that's over ! Now I can relax and just be a Happy Floppy Fun bunny. I'm hoping to find my very own forever family soon. I am kinda a wild child, not the snuggly type so be aware! I get very scared outdoors so I prefer to be a house bunny, I love feeling the carpet under my toes! I promise if you tend to my needs & feed me properly, I'll TRY to be a very best friend to you. I might thrive if I had a fur friend to cozy up with. I'm very clean, great potty box manners & not a fussy eater. I just need someone with some patience.

This little full grown fella is a Silver Martin breed who was lucky to be rescued from roaming the streets of Salinas, CA. He was released from our county shelter into our rescue program on Aug. 21, 2018. He was neutered 9/13/2018 and is hoping to get into a foster or adopting home asap where he can be pampered, fed fresh produce/hay and get the attention he deserves. He had to have had a home at one point but left to fend for himself (not good outcomes when it's a domesticated pet). Please dig into your heart & open your home for him? He doesn't ask for much, just to be SAFE. He appears to be young, currently likes to sleep in one potty box w/hay and does his business in a 2nd potty box filled with Carefresh litter. He's friendly but a bundle of energy so be ready for some funny entertainment!

This silky soft beauty came to us through the Monterey Animal services where she was caught as a stray. Lucky for her, she is in the best rabbit rescue program ever! We gave her a few days to eat & rest before having her spayed & microchipped at AFRP Clinic on 8/15/2018. She likes to have garden time to play, eats anything you provide and longs to be a family pet. She is medium size, a brown/black ticked silky soft fur, and gorgeous eyes! She has a lot of energy so we believe she is no older than 1 year. She is 100% ready & waiting !

Bought on a whim and discovered a pet is a responsibility this person wasn't prepared for, so here he is! A young 3 mos. old Holland lop. He will be neutered 7/31/18 at Avian Exotic Clinic 8/. He is harness trained & used to wearing a stretchable collar w/bell. He's adorable of course but he is a wild active teenager needing some boundaries set upon him !! Due to very unfortunate circumstances (owner cancer) we have accepted to help her by re homing this adorable spayed female LIONHEAD. Delila has been very well loved and cared for but the owner has more serious issues to address so we are going to be keeping this sweet little girl in our care forever or until someone adores her more than we do. We did give her a shave so she could see better but she is low maintenance otherwise. She was previously spayed a couple years ago, we believe she is approx. 3years old. She will sit in your lap, great therapy bunny to help relax you after a long day. She immediately stole my heart, now needs to find someone who feels the same.

We were told these 2 fluff balls are brother/sister, currently bonded but available as singles. Unpon further research, we believe these are French Angora Rabbits. The orange fluffier is the female, Ginger, and will need major constant grooming to keep her gorgeous angora fur from knotting. Her little brother Gilligan isn't quite as fluffy but is so sweet! We will include their spay/neuter once they are old enough, we believe they are approx. 2-3 months as of June 1st, 2018

We named this survivor, TITUS: "Titus is a Latin name whose meaning is uncertain. It was used as a given name in Roman times, and may have been derived from the Latin word titulus meaning "title of honor". He was picked on by other bunnies in unacceptable cage conditions up in Castroville on 5/31/2018. He lost his entire left ear & the tip of his right but he endured & holds no grudges! He will be neutered & micro-chipped at AFRP Clinic on 10/2/2018 but available NOW to move on into his new home. He is absolutely the sweetest, forgiving, lovable bunny ever! We want to ensure he has a SAFE FABULOUS forever after story to add to his story! Appears 1 year old ?

From a personal surrender in Fresno, CA., MARSHA arrived into our program 5/13/2018. She has been immediately put on a crash bunny boot camp diet! She also appears to be a fully grown young adult & is just starting to show her personality (has great potential!) She's super clean and loves food so she will have to be monitored until she is back to a healthier weight. She's ready for her own family, maybe a good choice for a bunny boyfriend (neutered of course). She likes chewing cardboard!

CHUNK JUST ARRIVED! He definitely is a male that needs to be neutered LOL! So we had him neutered at AFRP clinic on 4/25/2018. He's a Chunk of bun fur, Lazy but lively, sweet but a quite a busy boy. Person who rescued him up near Modesto wrote: "Super sweet too. My 18 month old would pet him on the head and he would be very calm with her so I think he'll do good being Place probably anywhere". He is approx. 2 years old and HAPPY! He arrived into RRR program on 4/15/2018. He's a medium to large size, used to cats, dogs and any other type critter. Poor LooLoo is being surrendered back due to owner moving off to college. She is another one of our amazingly friendly happy clean bunnies! Her Original bio: This fabulous female came into The Monterey County Animal Services on March 6th, 2018. We picked her up, knowing how scared she must of been and WOW is she a jewel! She was spayed 4/11/2018 at AFRP clinic & is READY for her new home anytime. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body & has adjusted easily. Had to have been a domestic pet that either got dumped or escaped. She was found on Boronda Road and lucky for her, she wound up in the AFRP's Rescue Rabbits Rock program ( oh how we spoil them!). this GORGEOUS Broken Opal Flemish Giant had been rescued & brought to Monterey County Animal Services. She's been there 3+ weeks, had 9 babies (all died ) but we were finally able to get her out and into a warm happy foster home on 1/17/2018. She was skinny so we are fattening her up before we spay her. She is available for adoption if you are the right person! Update: Opal was Spayed 3/29/2018 at AFRP clinic.

We accepted Dutchess into our program specifically because she is slightly older (5yrs?) & has had a rough past. She's super sweet considering she didn't know what hay was at one point. She's come a long way and now knows what a proper bunny diet is! Soon to be spayed, available now

Simba was born Sept. 5th 2017 this little boy is spunky & playful! Happy, clean, friendly, fearless, not a care in the world. He demands & loves attention. Loves all & any food, especially his hay !!! Incredibly clean for a teenage boy. He's a beautiful silver soft gray. Simba was neutered & micro chipped Jan.17, 2018 and is ready to be adopted now !

This young beautiful furball was born in Oct. 2017 and arrived into our program 1/3/2018. He is a tad shy due to too much chaos and being moved around (bunnies love routine). But he is quite an amazing sweetheart. We believe he will stay on the petite side and given some love, will bloom into a confident young boy. He loves his apple & banana treats as well as his pellets & hay. Prefers to sleep in his potty box so he has 2 in his pen. The sooner he gets adopted, the sooner he can thrive! This fella ought to be called Curious George or fearless Flea !!!! He's a young 6 pound, neutered teenager who was surrendered to a rescue group in Modesto, Calif. on 1/7/2018 We agreed to help find him a happy home so here he is! Comes with his own wisk broom too. Be prepared for a ride with this boy, he has teenager energy right now (will subside eventually).

This litter of 1 boy & 4 girls came from SPCA from a personal surrender. We scooped them up & placed them into our "baby foster" home so they would be handled, loved & spoiled. They are approaching 12 weeks (as of Aug. 2017). HURRICANE is the dominate girl of all, loves to chase cats! She is a beautiful grey with 2 white front paws. She was spayed at AFRP on Nov. 8th, 2017. She was bonded with her sister until recently they decided they didn't want to be together anymore. Both require a "SNAK SHAK" log when adopted. They love to gnaw away. They are potty box trained and absolutely sweet precious happy bunnies.

We found this Xtra large squishy French Lop girl on Craigslist, she needed us to save her from being bred over and over. She's only 1.5 years old, has already been bred too many times and is now retired. Loves to nap (due to her 18 pound figure) but loves to explore the garden. She has multiple dewlaps, a "skirt" around her hind end & some loose flap all over LOL! She is LARGE !!!! We haven't found a food she doesn't like so besides her hay & pellets, any dark leafy greens is just fine. She also likes grapes, apple & of course banana (all in moderation). ROADIE came fro the streets in Aromas CA. and ended up at the SPCA. We plucked him out and he went straight to Avian to get neutered on 11/9/2017. He had a hole through his ear so his past must of been rough. But he is an amazing gentle happy very hungry boy! He checked out in excellent health, age maybe 1-3 years ??? Beautiful, potty trained, laid back. He's a "Ready to go" bunny ! 2/23/2018 UPDATE: Roadie was temporarily adopted but situations occur and he had to be returned. Happily he came back with a bun wife. She is a gorgeous Lionhead, BUGSY! Bugsy's Bio: "was purchased at a feed store at about a month old. She was found in a empty fish tank which is why I bought her. They wouldn’t let me adopt or just take her. She about 3 years now and has always been an indoor bunny with dogs and cats so she would do amazing in a home with other animals. Her favorite thing to eat is Dino kale but really she’ll eat/ love anything." They are best buds, both spayed/neutered and we would HOPE they can be adopted together, forever!

I scooped this cutey squish ball from the SPCA barn, he was demanding my attention begging me to take him, so I caved !!! He's just a baby after all and needed some human love. He's very round, I am guessing he will not be too large (but we never know for sure). He was found down in Soledad, CA. and managed to end up at the Monterey SPCA. He's looking for an indoor home & a human to snuggle with him. He may like a bunny friend if you are looking for an easy bonding. He's quite clean, litter box wise, loves any fresh produce & has no problem accepting treats (apple, banana, carrot). Meet IHOP, our new rescue from a terrible breeding situation. Being fed human food, letting her breed endlessly, one of our compassionate adopters snatched her up & called on us for help. She was immediately spayed at AFRP clinic on 10/4/2017 and is happy as can be now that she can live a carefree life for herself. She is a petite Lionhead mix and a great candidate for bonding. We are hopeful to find her the best home ever, indoors only and commited for the rest of her life. She appears quite young but age unknown.

It's so exciting to get an adorable baby into our program, kinda like Christmas morning !! This little itty bitty baby Lionhead came into Salinas City shelter on 9/15/2017 and we scooped her up that same day. She will simply melt your heart!!! SWEET and gentle, healthy and gorgeous. Most likely 12 weeks old, is eating & drinking like a champ! We will spay her when she gains some weight or grows a little more, but she is ready to find her forever home now.

Neuter Avian 9/14/2017 We picked up this squishy happy boy 9/12/2017 and he's the cream of the crop of snugglers. He is so pretty in person, quiet, laid back and easy to handle. Appears to have been well cared for before coming to our local Salinas City shelter.

These 2 beautiful buddies came to us as a surrender from the San Francisco area. Of course the male neutered "lion/lop", RUPERT, is stunning but the most entertaining of the pair is BAILEY (Dutch spayed female) who unfortunately was poked in the eye as a teenager & endured surgery to remove (approx. 4 yrs ago). Both are approaching 5 years of age and are as happy as can be! Easy, clean, no issues whatsoever, they just need a new home to flop in. This gorgeous female came to us in a messy horrible state. Her ears were busting over with ear mites as she constantly tried to scratch, she simply couldn't due to extreme weakness in her hind legs. We rushed her to the Avian Exotic clinic, had Xrays & other testing only to find nothing unusual. We are suspecting she was left in a tiny wire bottom cage all her life and never used the muscles need to hop. She is in foster care receiving "excerise therapy" and has improved in 24 hrs. She needs more of course, so she is looking for a home to help her improve building her muscles up. She eats, poops, drinks, pees 100%

WILLOW is simply a sheer Bundle of Cuteness! The Salinas City Animal shelter called on our rescue after they received this adorable mini Holland lop female. VET notes: she is 2.8 pounds, appears healthy & young, approx. 4-5 months. She is NOT spayed but we will cover that when she is adopted and schedule as soon as possible. This petite beautiful girl, HAPPY, is blooming by the minute. She is silky soft and fairly clean in her cage considering she was another from the SPCA confiscation. She was spayed at Avian Exotic Clinic on Nov. 2, 2017. She already craves attention & is going to be one awesome bunny. She loves to come up and give nose to nose kisses! She's full grown yet young, weighs approx 3pounds of cuteness. She gets along with cats & dogs and is not destructive at all, mellow for a small type bunny.

This is possibly the happiest rabbit ever! She loves to slip & slide while racing around. She is our entertainer at shows where she non stop performs bringing lots of laughter to anyone who meets her. She is a spayed female, came to our local SPCA during a confiscation (17 saved March 2017) in Pajaro, CA. The owner was eating the rabbits. She has a few battle scars but she has forgiven the humans that neglected her. Now she's like a white soft fluffy roll of Charmin !!! Meet IVY, a medium large spayed female from a San Jose confiscation. She ended up in our care on 4/8/2017 because she likes to grunt if you invade her space (cage). She is the most vocal bunny we've ever had, makes all sorts of cute sounds, though we aren't sure what she is trying to say. She longs to be loved. She's been happy & clean with her potty box, loves fresh dark greens, a slice of banana & apple. She shows her "on guard" behavior by raising one ear straight up, but when she's resting & trusts her safety, she's a gorgeous lop. She's medium grey & longs to be in a larger space then we can provide. Her ear language is hysterical !!! Available for adopting or fostering NOW.

TOPPINS is a mini lop, grey and neutered from Santa Clara Shelter. He arrived into our program 4/20/2017 and was healing from multiple bite/battle wounds. Poor guy seemed a tad sad, hopeless. But now that he's got some playtime and yummy bunny food, he's showing his happy side. This guy may be a treat candidate to bond w/a spayed female, we think he'd be living his ultimate dream! Or a safe home and loving family loving family to spoil & pampered and serve him his meals on a routine (bunnies love routine!)

We need to find a new home for CowBoy & Spry ASAP = both spay/neutered & totally bonded Human mom is being transferred to JAPAN! Heartbroken, she has decided it would be best for these 2 to stay in USA. COWBOY: Came from the streets of San Jose where somebody dumped 4 rabbits at a busy intersection. Luckily a nearby business captured all & called us. SPRY: Came from Santa Maria Shelter and has bonded dearly with CowBoy. SPRY's front teeth were extracted 11/8/2017at Avian Exotic Clinic because they were extremely fast growing & required trimming every 2 months. She has fully recovered & adapted easily. Both are 100% Happy bunnies!

Lily originally came from a breeder, was adopted quickly 2 years ago and now recently returned (owner personal situation). She is tiny yet full grown and the itty bitty ears are too cute. She is used to being 1000 % SPOILED, handled constantly, and loved beyond words. INDOORS ONLY, no other scary pets because of her size. She would make a perfect bonded bunny, she loves to lick other bunnies. She begs for attention so if you want a new best friend, she's the one! Already spayed.

ONLY 2 babies left !!! Brother & Sister (bonded). We received a call with the same theme, "I got a rabbit and it had babies". Here we are, with 5 babies who are 3 mos. old now & ready to leave the nest. They were born near the end of Dec. 2016. The mom will also be ready to retire, finally. Hand raised, used to kids, other pets, very socialized. They are going to be rather medium when adults (not quite dwarfs).

Meet Charlotte, a soft, beautiful, squishy lap bunny! This sweet girl came from a San Jose hoarding situation. She was spayed in Feb. 2017 (in San Jose) and is now relaxing in Monterey County. We has learned how to eat, apparently she had no idea what good food is. She's easy to handle, needs a safe calm home and eventually she may enjoy some garden exercise. She came to our rescue along with McKinney, a petite litl' boy who already found his forever home. She loves to race around the house and even BINKIES now !!!

EBBUNY came in with his brother to the Monterey County Animal services. We were called and here they are, ready to start a better chapter in their lives. Being 2 un-neutered boys, they were fighting so we separated them immediately. EBBUNY is the smaller of the two, and has silky black fur. He's more gentle than his brother Dracula, both need a patient loving gentle human to teach them life will be GOOD. Neutered on2/28/2017 at Avian Exotic clinic he is waiting for a HOME asap. He loves nose kisses !!! He's a character, on the small end, approx. 3-4 pounds. We prefer indoor only with a secured yard/garden for play time. He's perfect with his potty box & gentle as a lamb!

This lonesome lady, Mariposa, came in as a stray, found on Paradise Road in North County Salinas Jan.12/31/2016. She was dirty, cold, hungry. We scooped her out of her wire cage and brought her into our cushy foster home where she's clean, warm, well fed and SAFE. She is acting extremely grateful towards us, like she's Thanking us. We had her spayed at Avian Exotic clinic 1/25/2017 and she recuperated quickly. Now she needs to begin her next phase of life, people with compassion and love to give her, she has earned it!

We received this email & accepted Frankie on 1/17/2017: "Hi, you were recommended to me by our vet. We live in Santa Cruz we have a 2 year old male rabbit named Rex. We took him in as a foster pet for a friend when he was 2 months old. My two young girls got attached to him. He has now become my pet and responsibility. Unfortunately I feel we need to find him a new home. I've looked at your website and think it might be a perfect fit. " FRANKIE is neutered and friendly, just confused why his life suddenly changed. Give him a month or so, and he'll be all OK again. He is litter box trained, clean, eats very well !

BAYLOR came from Salinas City shelter 1/17/2017 and was neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on Jan. 25, 2017. This poor guy came into our rescue malnourished, covered w/fleas & mites, dirty and sad. He's a lucky fella though, he will now be spoiled, clean and fed delicious salads 2x a day. He's very laid back, doesn't require a lot of anything except love, comfort & safety. Not sure of his age but 3-5 years maybe? Great lap bunny or a new husbun for a lonely spayed female?

POPPY is a medium size black generic bunny. Spayed & microchipped, she stands out because of her SWEET, GENTLE, CLEAN personality. She came to us from our Monterey SPCA on Jan. 17, 2017. She's an instant "ready to go" bunny who has NO past baggage (behavior issues). We just want her in a forever home as she has been moved around. 1 year old female Blue Himalayan Netherland Dwarf Was a breeder/show bunny surrendered to our rescue 1/6/2017. She was spayed 1/9/2017 at AFRP Clinic. She's the easiest, cleanest sweetheart ever!

We have BIG hearts! Lillie May came to our rescue from SPCA where she was spayed at Nov. 30th 2016. Now we are looking for someone with a heart as big as ours so she can live a carefree life. Please consider this beautiful girl, all she longs for is love. She's a medium/large Gray/white female, approx 2-3 years old. She is extremely clean, potty box trained but would prefer being a house free roamer w/garden privileges. She requires a slice of fresh banana as well as kale & Italian Parsley. She waits every morning for her bite size of apple and fresh hay. She has no past "issues" and is comfortable being around multiple cats. She may even like dogs but she seems lonely.

These 2 sweet sisters were rescued by the Salinas City Animal shelter. Poor things were starving, underweight, dirty. We brought them into our rescue 12/10/2016, cleaned them up and fed them delux baby bunny meals. They are spayed (AFRP Clinic) and micro-chipped. They are terrified of the vacuum cleaner, but otherwise, sweet happy loving little girls. They are in potty box training so they will need a little patience & guidance. Amazingly, there isn't a mean bone in their body! INDOORS ONLY please.

KoKo Puff Ball is an absolute doll! Squishy, friendly, happy & CLEAN. Appears to be young although she is an adult. She came into the SPCA back in July 2016. She's been caged up ever since, until now. She is READY to move into her own house, would make a great "Free Roamer" or have an Xtra large condo. She's the perfect bunny for families with kids, dogs & cats! She was spayed back in July 2016 so she's ready for a husbun if you have a lonely neutered fella. Not sure, but she may be micro-chipped too. She was an owner surrender, her previous owner's daughter was having severe allergic reactions to their bunnies, and decided to give them them up. She is very sweet & really likes her head scratched and eating yummy dark leafy green salads. Loves her hay too!

Sam is LARGE with BLUE EYES, was being sold on Craigslist down in King County where one of our concerned bunny ladies saw & saved him. Of course we took him in and he is amazing! He will be neutered at Avian 11/22/2016, but he is ready to be adopted now. He's quite a busy guy, loves to shred cardboard so toys are required. He loves dogs & was raised with a small child. He's a "ready to go" guy, isn't shy or "damaged" in any way!!! Approx. 2 years YOUNG.

Delivered into our program on 11/6/2016 all the way from Eureka, CA. A litter of 3 babies were Born around Oct 8th 2016. They were about 14 days when they were rescued & kept in a temporary foster home. Dad remained in Eureka. Mom is still waiting to be spayed but she is available too. ONLY ONE LEFT !!!! A baby boy we named PANCAKE. He is not yet neutered (too young) but we will cover that expense when he is ready. He bloomed into a gorgeous caramel colored ANGORA, handled constantly since birth, VERY CUDDLY & SWEET!

Meet Ginny! A young mini lop approx. 5 mos old, was surrendered to the Sacramento SPCA on 10/14/2016. She was transported to our rescue by an amazing crew of women.. She was spayed at Avian Exotic Clinic on our historic election day, 11/8/2016. We do know she is a bit hard to handle, does kick when held so she prefers for you to get on her level. We have been working with her and she is actually tolerating us picking her up and holding now! She has a lot of energy and LOVES to race around so she requires mandatory playtime. Eats extremely good and is currently in potty box training (We need to use 2 potty boxes). I'd say she's a rebellious teenager at this point with great potential pending human intervention. Now that she is spayed, she has calmed down quite a bit. Still cute as a button !

This stunning friendly Lionhead was found as a stray in Salinas CA. and no one claimed her so she is now at "home" with Rescue Rabbits Rock. Meet Leah! This beautiful gentle girl was an owner surrender we accepted. She is approx 3 years old and is the sweetest, cleanest, easiest bunny ever. This unique female is looking for a home! The story we have on this unusual BEAUTY is that some "rescue group" was given two bunnies that were not "fixed" & allowed them to have babies. One thing led to another and they had more babies cause they didn't know how to properly sex the bunnies so it turned into a breeding situation. We saw the babies bunnies at Pets mart in San Jose, talked to them and they let us have the 1 . We tried to save them all, but they refused. This girl was approx. 4 weeks old, too soon to be away from her mom, so she went to a special foster home where she was given xtra nutrition to survive. Here she was spayed & Micro chipped at AFRP on Sept. 1 2016. She is almost 2 years old now !

We are proud to present our new boy, KaBob! He just arrived from King County Animal shelter after a 2 1/2 hr drive to save his life. What can we say about Mabel? She is awesome, super sweet and very friendly. She loves to sit on your lap and let you pet her, she loves it when you play with her ears. She is very inquisitive and loves to roam around. She wants to be a "house pet" not one that has to be in a pen. She can also be quite a pain...she needs to be the center of attention or can be a little destructive. I think she would do best as a single family bunny. She is great around kids and dogs.

RETURNED after 4 years, ZORRO is still a little sweetheart !This is as big as he's gunna be! Zorro came in as a surrender (along w/Zonkers) both bought at a fair. Owners left them outside in a hutch and eventually lost interest. Luckily they reached out to us and we took them in, got both of them neutered and micro-chipped and they are now residing in foster homes. We just need to find them their own families. Zorro is a sweet, laid back litl' guy, doesn't really know how or what a spoiled house bunny is, so we are teaching him. He's approx. 1year old as of Feb. 2016. This beautiful gentle sweet girl was a surrender from "a concerned" neighbor. She was left in a small wire bottomed cage and in unclean conditions. her diet was wrong which caused some messes bit she is all cleaned up and being properly cared for in our foster care system. This LUCKY squishy girl was rescued by a caring human arriving home one eve near Tassajara CV Calif.. He spotted her, caught her ( NO easy task) and set her up in his home. We decided to take her into our rescue as she did have a neck wound, which required surgery at Avian Exotic Clinic. She was spayed at same time and will be recuperating in a foster home until the right home chooses her. She is full grown, nice and round & gentle as can be. Potty box trained, happy and even seems to be showing her gratitude towards us for keeping her safe. She's a light colored Harlequin and may be a good candidate for bonding. AGE unknown but is fully grown.

"Poor baby she's shaking, going to get her all snuggled up in some warm fleece. She was outside in this cold weather. Her little boy human didn't pay attention to her and the family dog tried to eat her." Thanks to one of our volunteers with a huge heart filled with compassion, she will be safe, warm and happy now. Freya is a medium lop eared rabbit with beautiful markings. She came from the Sacramento County shelter Nov. 16th already spayed. She is probably approx. 2-5 years old. When out in the exercise pen for daily binky practice, Freya seems to enjoy lying next to another rabbit through the exercise pen. We hope she will have another rabbit friend in her forever home as that would be very comforting for her. She nipped her foster mom so she will need some time to trust humans again. She's had too much change in the past month and needs a safe routine & gentle humans to help her be a happy girl again.

This lucky boy is a "breeder" bunny reject. sadly for him, not show quality. We don't like what happens to them when they aren't good enough for breeders so we try to save them because we LOVE the "rejects"! This litl'boy is already neutered and dying to have a home so he can frolic about, eat healthy & play safely. He's full grown yet petite approx. 10 mos. old now. It's hard to have a bad day when you have a face like this needing you!

Talking about luck of all time, this tiny baby came into our Salinas City Shelter late afternoon on Wed. Nov. 25th, 2015. He was in need of medical care immediately. The vets were closed for Thanksgiving & the shelter was closed for the next day. We pulled all our pleas out & within an hour, had him in a home w/3 volunteers to assess his condition. Our "nurse" volunteer took him home & immediately treated an apparent eye swelling and general weakness. After spending all night treating him, Next day he showed improvement. She spent most her Thanksgiving pampering him, hand feeding critical care and arranged a vet appt. for Fri. AM. He is now thriving and on his way to being a healthy happy baby. We named him ROCKY for his shaky situation but he is now ready to move on to a compassionate human who will provide him anything he needs/wants! Litl Boy ROCKY was neutered at Avian Exotic Clinic on 12/30/2015. He is a cuddler & will need a human to give him the time he deserves.

My name is RAISIN and I am adorable! However I am a tad high maintenance due to my Angora fuzzy hairdo, which I require combing and occasional shaving to up keep. I am an indoor bunny only and would love to be where the action is, so providing me with stimulating activity is a must! I am still a baby approx 4 mos. old & I am still learning my potty box manners but that will improve with time. But I LOVE to eat: Kale, Parsley, Hay, maybe an occasional raisin for a treat. Say hello to Rescue Rabbits Rock newest surrender. He's one cute cuddly boy! We think he may be part flemish giant. He has some big thumpers! He was part of the group of bunnies dumped in a parking lot along with Cowboy and Kola near a busy street in San Jose. Someone offered to take him in but later decided it was best to give him to us. Knowing that Kola and Cowboy had great loving personalities we hopped on the opportunity to take him in! He is adjusting to spending part of his day in a pen. He enjoys play time very much. He would rather be a free roaming house bunny. We are still getting to know him and will update his bio as we learn new things about him, but everyday this character proves what a clown he is! Doesn't mind kids, dogs, cats and even LOVES people! You can scoop him up and he doesn't seem to have a care in the world. Again like Kola, someone will have to convince me they will love him more than I before I can hand him over. He was neutered Oct. 29th, 2015 and micro-chipped at AFRP Clinic.

This beautiful soft tan/brown fella is amazingly a cuddle bun. He was neutered/micro-chipped at AFRP and is now recovering in foster care. He is also one very lucky bunny who arrived into our program along with KOLA. Their story: I received a semi frantic call from Davita Dialysis Clinic in San Jose Oct.16th from a worker who noticed some rabbits were dumped at their property (near a main street). This special woman carefully rounded up some co workers & captured 4 bunnies.It just so happens, one of our caring volunteers lives nearby, so he rushed over, took them home, then drove an hour down to Monterey early the next morning. Both are so gentle and content it's amazing but it looks like they were dumped and rescued before any damage was done. Both love exploring the house & playing on my enclosed patio. They are great hay eaters and any produce, Italian Parsley & kale being their favorite so far. Both love a slice of banana & a slice of apple. PS CowBoy was named in memory of a very special famous FaceBook bunny who recently passed. We wanted to honor his life, and this litl guy looks so much like him!

Meet Agnes! This beautiful Holland Lop recently came into our program on Oct. 10th, 2015. She is approx. 9 months old & has been shuffled around too much. She needs a permanent home so she can get into a routine & be forever happy. She was spayed and micro-chipped at the AFRP Clinic on 10/14/2015. Agnes is a sweet girl but currently dislikes being picked up. We are working with her on that, doing "mandatory" holding sessions 2-3 times a day. She has amazingly improved in a short amount of time showing us she has huge potential!!! She's very clean with her litter box manners but she does like to rearrange her "furniture" in her pen. Toto is the litl' brown boy who was brought into Salinas City shelter as a stray back in 2013. He was adopted & bonded but his partner died so owners surrendered him back to us, he was depressed. Lucky for him, we had a sweet beautiful spayed lady who was an owner surrender from Aptos, CA. She was already spayed and wanted love, so here we are with 2 very happy bunnies. Both have bloomed into exploring, cuddling, happy bunnies again! They love their hay & produce and will devour apples, grapes, bananas and a few raisins as threats They also love hay cubes for night gnawing. Super clean & easy to care for. They are definitely in love so they must stay together forever!

This handsome guy came into the Salinas City Shelter as a stray on 8/20/2015. We grabbed him, took him to Avian where he was neutered on 9/22/2015, then placed into our foster home. He is quite a remarkable boy, we're guessing 9 mos of age. He's happy & easy & loves attention, LOTS of attention! He also LOVES his food!! He is on the petite side, approx. 4 pounds & is fully grown. He's got the prettiest ear markings ever !! Available to a loving home anytime.

These 2 brothers are approx. 1year 2 months OLD. They both were neutered & micro-chipped at AFRP clinic on 9/16/2015. MICK is the skinnier guy with the "REX" curly whiskers. His brother KEITH has a little bigger belly & normal whiskers. They come from a mixed litter of curly Rexes. These 2 have been hand raised in a foster home since they were born. Their momma, Suzanna was rescued from the Hollister shelter with a litter of new borns. 4 weeks later she gave birth to a second litter of which Mick & Keith came from. They completely TRUST humans to be kind to them so we prefer an indoor safe happy atmosphere to keep them domesticated. They LOVE food, they LOVE to race around & do Binkies. Delta Dawn was surrendered due to a move overseas where they were unable to take their beautiful girl. Delta Dawn was spayed at Avian & Exotic Clinic on August 6, 2015. The gorgeous Dawn is approximately two years young and full of spunk. She has wonderful potty box habits and keeps her area nice and tidy, she would make a great house bunny in her forever home. She will come a runnin' when she hears the refrigerator open and devours hay! Dawn is in a foster home with dogs and kids and gets along just fine with both. She does not particularly love the picking up part of being held but will melt with nose rubs and settle right on in for some pampering.

CHACHI arrived at the Salinas City shelter on 7/7/2015 He is petite & sweet & longing to have a home of his own. Super clean and holdable, loves to be loved. He arrived at AFRP program on 7/22/2015 and was neutered & Micro-chipped on August 26th 2015. He has been cohabitating kindly with 4 cats & loves his free time out on patio. Grapes & apple slices are his favorite treat but he goes crazy for a piece of banana! He's super clean, potty box trained and rarely sheds. After his playtime, he'll snuggle for cuddles. He is ready for fostering or adopting now because we certainly need some volunteers to help us give these bunnies love and safety. Whitney is a beautiful girl and a fun spirit! Whitney was an owner surrender from the Salinas area. Her owners didn't want to keep her because she was too messy. We asked if she was spayed & they responded: "No, we don't want to spend that much money". So we got Whitney was spayed at AFRP clinic on June 31st 2015 and is clean as a whistle now, great potty box habits and an all around happy girl. You see, she no longer needs to make a mess a build a nest! This is where the value is in adopting! Whitney loves to play in the grass but you must give her a head rub after or she will nudge at you until you do. She has no problem in letting you know its time for attention and she would love her own home with lots of attention. Let us know if you can give her just that!

We picked up CORRINNA at the Salinas Animal Services shelter on June 12, 2015. She was micro chipped & spayed 6/15/2015 at AFRP Clinic. My first impression is how sweet & gentle she is! Her fur is silky soft & clean, obviously a house pet at some point & well cared for. She was found as a stray in Salinas. She has the longest eyelashes !!! This lady is blooming into a fantastic house bunny, loves to be help & around people. Her favorite activity is to rearrange her bunny palace but is not messy at all. We will be getting to know her personality & update when we know more.

Meet our most recent surrender, JOEY! We are just getting to know this friendly boy but from what we've seen so far, he loves to be a free roamer. He explores his foster dads home, hops on couches & tables & is starting to learn how to control humans. He came to us by a compassionate couple that found him (or he found them) they took him in. He had some major ear damage requiring drains & surgeries but is OK health wise now. This is why he became a "Flop" earred bunny. He was treated (& neutered) at Avian Exotic Clinic. The more we learn about JOEY, the more we will post. We believe he's young due to his curiosity, oh & he does not like being caged (chews on bars to get out).

MONA is one of the babies born to MAYA & their story is: This incredible lovely sweet bunny is amazing to find in a shelter whose time to be euthanized was scheduled at 5pm the day we saved her! She gave birth to 6 itty bitty babies 3 days after being surrendered. She took care of every single one ensuring their survival (many momma bunnies will kill their babies in a shelter situation). Then to endure a 6 hour drive down to our rescue program & to actually start licking our hands when we reached in to set up a new clean warm nest box, well, our hearts simply melted! She is a petite gentle loving bunny, for an indoor home ONLY & will be adopted out to the one who melts like we did. Mona is now approx. 3 years old. She was adopted as a tiny baby and recently surrendered back with her mom, Maya.

This silver beauty came to our program extremely pregnant. We normally rush our females out to get their spay surgeries but we felt we should not put her through the ordeal this late in the game. Having made this difficult decision, she did indeed give birth to 5 babies 2 days later. What happened next totally saddened us, she refused to care for the babies & kept throwing them out of their nest. Our experienced foster mom kept finding them (some sopping wet) and tried to keep them safe (getting up round the clock, middle of night etc) to help them. We were all devastated to learn none survived. For some reason, Miley did not want her babies. Only Mother Nature can explain. So we are ready to have her spayed soon now, but she is available for adoption now. Miley is an owner surrender from Northern California this May. Miley was let loose in a backyard and some devoted bunny loving neighbors convinced the owner that she did in fact deserve a better life! Her potty box manners are great, she adapted quickly to this and her foster Mom thinks she will make a great house bunny for some lucky people! Miley really, really, really likes her food and will have a tendency to overeat, so lots of fresh hay will be a requirement for this gal! Miley also will require lots of head pets and this sweet girl actually does not mind being held and likes to have some cuddle time daily. Poor little PEPPERCORN is having a bad hair day! When he came into the Santa Maria shelter on May 16th 2014 he was super skinny with hair matted to his body. He was too thin and in too much pain from the mats to be neutered right away so they waited until he was fattened up and shaved and he was finally up for it on June 4th! On June 6th the lovely shelter volunteers brought him to Rescue Rabbits Rock to ensure he only gets the best home! He is really just a baby at about nine months old. He is now so happy to be feeling good and in a foster home with someone that knows angora bunnies do need a bit of brushing and he has lots of fresh hay and greens. It has taken a couple of days but he is finally thinking us humans can be pretty cool. We want to make sure whoever takes Peppercorn into their home will have to brush him a couple times a week, it doesn't take long and he will love you forever for it! CRACKERJACK: One of Mama Mia's babies: Oh Mama Mia! On January 22, 2014 a very pregnant Mama Mia was dropped off at our city shelter. The shelter called and told us to get ready babies were on their way! We got to the hay barn and stocked up on alfalfa and picked up Mama Mia and her five babies. CrackerJack was spayed 2014 These 2 bonded themselves and we would prefer they stay together.

Little TaterTot came in with four siblings from the Hollister shelter on May 2, 2015. He is a Rex bunny and is so adorable you won't believe your eyes. Just barely able to be away from his mama, he was found in a backyard breeding situation in an underground burrow with his siblings. He is eating his alfalfa and munching on his pellets and getting ready to grow up to be one soft and luscious bunny! He only knows loving hands and has no fear, he is the smallest of the siblings and will need very gentle hands for awhile. He will be neutered when the time comes but he can be adopted very shortly into the perfect home.

This round soft squishy boy just arrived into the RRR program on April 27th from Santa Barbara County shelter. He sat waiting for nearly a year & no one wanted him, except us! He is a gentle, easy-going fella, with no distastes or demands, other than room to roam and good food to eat. He is litter box trained and loves to be lazy and loose. This beautiful boy is a recent surrender by a wonderful couple who fell on hard times & decided the bunny deserves more than they can give. We appreciate we were contacted & were in the position to fit him into a foster home. He arrived into our care 2/8/15 and is settling into his new surroundings. We truly would love to get him adopted quickly so he doesn't have to go through yet another lifestyle adjustment (bunnies love routine). He is as sweet as can be! We have found his ONLY issue is the process of being picked up. Once he's in your arms or lap, sweetness prevails! IZZABELLA just arrived in to our Program Jan. 21st 2015. She is beautiful, large, loving, happy, EXTREMELY clean, potty trained, curious, fearless w/cats (probably dogs too). She was spayed & micro chipped at AFRP Clinic on Feb.5th, 2015. She is the perfect "Ready to adopt" bunny, a beautiful caramel/white short haired easy to care for girl. Adapts instantly to her new surroundings & LOVES any food! She was obviously a well cared for pet at some point but was picked up by Monterey Animal Control in the streets of Salinas and taken to Salinas COUNTY shelter. A great bunny for any family w/pets and/or children. Age unknown but guessing 2-4 years. She Loves to be where the action is, meaning she likes to hang out wherever you are so no putting her out in a hutch all alone (NONE of our rabbits are suited for that!).

Surrendered back after 2+years, here are their original stories as babies. Theses 2 are now a bonded couple ready for new beginnings! ROSE (brown): "These 2 litl' lady dwarfs (ROSE left/MARY Rt) are from our own "backyard" rescue we helped before it got out of hand. After 3 litters, we finally collected all the bunnies & these 2 are the last! They're from a litter of 9 so bonding them would be easy, however since they were the last to be caught, they are timid & shy. We brought them home & it took some time but everyday they showed improvement. They litter box trained themselves & tolerate humans better. They can be saved w/alot of LOVE & CUDDLES. ROSE was spayed in Feb. 2011. (We est. their birthday approx Oct 2010). HICCUP (white dwarf): HICCUP is Cha Cha's sister, pic is of them together when they were 4 weeks old. Both are nearly 2 mos now & had to be separated. Neither will weigh more than 3 pds at full age as they are dwarfs. Both were rescued from a reptile store (snake food). HICCUP has been living in a foster home who have smothered her w/love & attention. She is used to kids but being a small dwarf, we advise careful supervision at all times. HICCUP was spayed in Feb.2011. Of course they love their fresh produce 2-3 times a day. They are wonderful happy friendly potty box trained baby bunnies just hoping for a wonderful family!!!

Little bitty bunny with a big personality. Napoleon is about a whole pound. He is a recent surrender and about 5 months old, he was neutered on Dec. 22, 2014. He needs to be an indoor bunny due to his size. He does play out on the patio but with supervision. I know his picture looks like a tough guy but he is really very small and prefers to be inside getting the cuddles and attention he deserves. This amazing sweet Dwarf boy came from the Sacramento SPCA on Nov.10, 2013. He was an owner surrender who claimed, "they keep having babies"! So along with approx 8 other siblings, we accepted them into our rescue. This little boy, was just a baby and hasn't grown much in the past year since he was adopted and now surrendered back. Family just lost interest & had no time. So we will be screening carefully for his next home, making sure it will be his last move. He was well cared for & is a true sweety, loves to be held, loves to Binky, clean as can be, longs to be loved. He is safe in foster care for now. He weighs approx. 3 pounds & is full grown at 1 yr. of age. He was neutered in Dec. 2013.

PEANUT, a 4-5 yr old neutered male is a smallish single male who recently lost his bun wife of 4 years. He apparently likes being single again and really likes attention from gentle children! He is a small to medium round bundle of cuddliness and wants a new home ASAP. He's been moved a lot through the foster home system, and being a bunny, that's not what we want to have happen. He is a fussy eater, does not like pellets or fresh bananas but loves his apple slice, Kale, Cilantro and HAY. He is immaculate with his potty box and keeps his pen as clean as ever! He's the perfect, most requested type bunny and he is ready to be all yours!

This adorable litl' boy ended up in the Mty County shelter on Aug. 29, 2014 when we were called & picked him up. He is an amazing HAPPY, friendly fella who was neutered Sept. 4th. We call him a Flop lop, and man can he fly!!! He leaps blindly up onto sofas, counters, tables, so be ready for some major entertainment. He is very young and LOVES my cats so he would do well in any kind of situation. He will be snapped up soon !

Tiny Dancer is one of our recent favorites, saved by one of our volunteers who heard her time was up at the shelter. She sped out to scoop her up on her lunch break & found yet another space in her heart to foster until she finds her forever home. We are lucky she was already spayed & micro chipped (at Monterey SPCA) sometime in July 2014. She was an owner surrender, who stated she loved to be a lap bunny, loved to roam the house & was sweet as can be. The owners just didn't want a pet anymore - our gain! She is a perfect candidate for a bonding. She is full grown, age unknown but is at least 18 mos. old, approx. 3 pounds & as cute as a button !

This petite little bundle of fur was hiding in a corner of her wire bottom cage outside at our local Monterey SPCA (they are over loaded too). My eyes went straight to her, I knew I couldn't leave her there. She appeared to be shut down, hopeless, sad, like she had just plain given up on a happy life. Not anymore !!! We scooped her into our arms and brought her home, arranged a nice foster home and there she is staying, to grow & bloom. She is being spoiled with fresh farmers market produce, fresh yummy hay and an apple or slice of banana. In the short time we've had her, she has bloomed and comes up to ask for treats. She is full grown, weighing approx. 2-3 pds and was spayed July 10th, 2014 at AFRP clinic. She is also micro chipped. She is available for adoption to a quiet calm safe home, probably not with small children. Gentle dogs & cats are OK with her, as she with them! She's also make a great bonding partner with a lonely neutered male.

Squish was surrendered at our own local Monterey SPCA and we were delighted to take him in and help him find his forever home! When we took him to get neutered on July 21st 2014 at AFRP Clinic, he required a "spay" procedure due to an undescended "coconut". He was definitely down & out for a few days, but his foster mom lovingly nursed him back & here he is! His previous owners had given him a princess name thinking he was a she so we decided to call him Squish since you can hug him, kiss him, and squish him with love and he will eat it up! He is super friendly and eager to follow you around like a puppy He gets along just fine with well mannered dogs and children and is picking up his potty box habits pretty quickly. We feel he would be an excellent candidate for bonding if you happen to have a lonely spayed female. Otherwise we prefer a human who has the time & desire to give him the attention he deserves.

RRR picked her up 5 days later and fell in love fast! She is SWEET and appears young & FULL of energy. She will be one entertaining bunny but will need lots of exercise & attention. On June 28 late afternoon, I received a call from the Monterey County Animal Services stating a nice human just caught a loose baby bunny. This fella was itty bitty, perhaps 6 weeks old. I rushed out & brought him home and he was so scared. But he soon discovered, with deluxe accommodations & delicious meals served, humans are pretty good after all! We transferred him into a caring foster home & after 3 days, foster mom wrote the following: "Bugsy is definitely a gem. He is so curious and very adventurous. He runs around like a little crazy person and loves his food and hay. He even takes big leaps into his cage and even on boxes that I have. These gray eyes are so hypnotizing. He loves pets and loves to be held and put his head under your chin. He will run up to you if you are sitting down and put his head on your leg. I'm falling in love with him more and more everyday!" He fits in the palm of your hand !! BUGSY is ready to be adopted & was neutered Avian in 2014.

I am DEWEY! Brothers Dewey and Chewey are just ten weeks old and our newest additions! They are Holland Lops and by far the most popular of the bunny kingdom. The boys have sweet dispositions but are just getting used to being held and they are starting to think us people are pretty cool. Both are too young to be neutered but that will be taken care of as soon as they are ready. Dewey and Chewey can be adopted now and are not bonded so they can go separate. This velvety soft chocolate brown REX male came into the Salinas City Animal services on June 24th, 2014 - We hurried out to take him away & set up in a nice safe foster home so he wouldn't feel alone or scared. He appears unfazed by whatever his past might of been, luckily for us! He can be adopted right away as he is as friendly & sweet as can be. His hind toes are scraped down to nothing & the tip of his tail is bald but other than that, he appears ready to rock! He was neutered July 1st, 2014 at our AFRP Clinic & is micro chipped. Beautiful breeds like him don't last long in our program so Email or call to adopt if you feel he's the one for you! Our guess of approx. age 2-4 years old.

Marbles was rescued from a construction site in Santa Maria at a mere three weeks old, along with her four siblings. Some construction workers were about to lay down some concrete when they noticed the ground wiggling, a minute later some very hungry three week old baby bunnies hopped out. They were taken to the Animal Services where they were cared for until they were old enough to get transferred to Rescue Rabbits Rock and we were delighted to get them into our care! Potty training is coming along at a rapid rate and before you know it she a graduate of liter box training 101! Marbles is available now but too young for her spay surgery but we will take care of that when she is six months old. Poor little Timothy is having a bad hair day! When he came into the Santa Maria shelter on May 16th 2014 he was super skinny with hair matted to his body. He was too thin and in too much pain from the mats to be neutered right away so they waited until he was fattened up and shaved and he was finally up for it on June 4th! On June 6th the lovely shelter volunteers brought him to Rescue Rabbits Rock to ensure he only gets the best home! He is really just a baby at about nine months old. Timothy is now so happy to be feeling good and in a foster home with someone that knows angora bunnies do need a bit of brushing and he has lots of fresh hay and greens. It has taken a couple of days but he is finally thinking us humans can be pretty cool. We want to make sure whoever takes Timothy into their home will have to brush him a couple times a week, it doesn't take long and Timothy will love you forever for it!

Buddy is just that, your best buddy. He has had a few bunny relationships but now he is a single bunny again looking for a human to bond with. He is a super sweet bunny and is very content to just be held. He will fall asleep in your arms if you cradle him like a baby. He is very mellow when he sitting with you or in his cage. When you let him free he does like to race around through tunnels and then flop out. His favorite pastime is shredding old phone books. He is an ideal bunny for a family with kids because he is just so sweet. Trust me, once you hold buddy in your arms he will just melt your heart."

BeBe is growing out what will soon be her Lion head mane, she is already sporting some of that classic hairdo!

Tiny little Roo has not grown into those ears just yet. She is just eight weeks old and came to us from Santa Maria where she and her siblings were almost lost to the world. Some wonderful construction workers noticed the ground wiggling as they were getting ready to pour some cement when a little hole formed and out popped a little family of three week old hungry baby bunnies. The scooped them up and brought them to Animal Services where they received immediate care and bottles of kitten milk until they were ready to come here to Monterey and Rescue Rabbits Rock. Roo will be spayed as soon as she is old enough early in September. She is available for adoption now and we will make you an appointment as soon as she is ready.

KoKoNut is a young and spunky little girl. Netherland/Dutch mix we expect her to stay petite! She arrived from Santa Barbara Animal Services on June 6, 2014. She is approximately six months old and was spayed just last month. She is a very curious little girl who wants to know all about you. Thurston is a beautiful mini Rex that is really starting to blossom. He arrived at Rescue Rabbits Rock on May 13, 2014 via Santa Barbara Animal Services where he was neutered and lovingly rescued. His foster Mom says "Thurston was an owner surrender from a woman who had him a week and found out she was allergic. The 6 months before that he lived in a local pet store. He is finally learning to use a litter box, but you have to keep it in the corner he chooses. Otherwise, fuggedabout it. He is a beautiful boy with a great attitude, but has been bereft of consistent handling. Really easy going though. He drinks from a water bottle." He appears to be a young guy and has adjusted perfectly here (apparently I put his potty box in the right spot because he hasn't missed it yet)!

Hello Lop fans, meet Rusty the newest Rescue Rabbits Rock addition! Rusty had a rough start in life and the folks at Santa Barbara Animal Services told us his story "Rusty came from this same hoarder situation, but his punishment was living in a small cage with three little ladies. He had a URI, but he was glad to have suffered so to keep that company. He is delightful and cuter than cute." Rusty is in perfect health now and ready to make your day a lot brighter!

NIKKA Nikka is a surrender and lived with her partner for 5 years. They were a gift to a family, which tried and succeeded for years caring for them, but eventually decided to let them go. They are healthy and have lived indoors all their lives, but since coming to our rescue, we have let them explore the bunny garden & they love it! Her partner was adopted and rebonded. Now it is Nikkas turn! She has perfect potty box habits and she is a bigger holdable girl.

Ace and Asia are siblings to Bodhi and Dilly. These cuties are still babies! They were raised with kind doggies and loving foster parents so they have no fear! They love to play in the garden and snuggle in your arms when they are all tuckered out! They can be adopted separately or re bonded to your lonely bunny.

Bodhi was born January 25th from Mama Mia. He was lucky to be raised in a wonderful foster home and he is used to cuddles from humans as well as nice dogs! He is a baby so he is not neutered yet but we will take care of that when the time is right! He is available for adoption now!

We have her in a terrific foster home so she can be pampered until someone decides she's worth the effort.

She then cared for Donovan and 2 others whose mother was deathly ill..The only thing is to watch the adults with dogs...this is the group where the guy allowed his dog to chew/kill the rabbits.....

MIRANDA is a harlequin female, spayed & micro chipped. She is a super sweet, gentle, calm bunny considering an early sad childhood. She was rescued from a terrible neglect situation & was lucky to end up at our SPCA. She LOVES humans (go figure), maybe she is grateful to them for saving her. We would love to bond her, so she can really enjoy the rest of her life! She is currently in a temporary foster home, enjoying fresh treats, clean water, and bunny toys! We do not know her age but she weighs 5.7 pounds full grown. We received her into our rescue on 2/12/2014. SUPER FRIENDLY !!

This young girl came to us from a concerned lady way up in San Jose. She saved 3 bunnies & called for our help. She drove all the way down here & was crying with happiness we would be willing to help take care of these bunnies until we found them a forever home. All 3 were immediately examined, micro chipped & spayed at the AFRP clinic. SKEETERS is the last one available, perfectly potty trained & love raisins for treats. She is extremely happy, energetic and a total house bunny. A great choice for bonding too.

Lucky little black bunny! The Carmel police officers found & caught this happy go lucky boy when he was hopping down the street in Carmel. They knew our volunteer, Kim, worked in Carmel so they delivered him to her while she was at work ! It was quite a surprise, but of course she took him home later that day & pampered him w/food & love. We got him neutered right away because he kept escaping his X pen (hence his name) He has settled down & been living in a new foster home, hanging out w/our Penelope bunny. Can be adopted together or as singles.

JESTER: The friendliest of all breeds, the BIG WHITE BUNNY! So many people miss out on these fabulous, calm, happy, hold able loving bunnies because they are white with beautiful ruby eyes. We consider them magical, they see & feel differently than other types of rabbits in a way hard to describe. We suggest JESTER was found as a stray in Salinas, CA. & brought into the Salinas City Animal shelter on Dec. 10th, 2013. We got him neutered on Feb. 3rd 2014 and placed him in a foster home. He is approx.. 1-2 years young & friendly as can be. We hope you will TRY taking him home, watching him bloom and hopefully want to adopt him forever.

Oh Mama Mia! On January 22, 2014 a very pregnant Mama Mia was dropped off at our city shelter. The shelter called and told us to get ready babies were on their way! We got to the hay barn and stocked up on alfalfa and picked up Mama Mia and her five babies. She will need to stay with her babies for eight more weeks so be looking for Mama and her babies in early April. They are currently in a loving foster home and thriving! Great news! Mama Mia is now spade today 3/12/14 and weening her babies. This girl is ready to for her furever home. Keep your eyes peeled for babies pictures on our adoptable page!

This beauty, a female Black/White Dutch came all the way from Yolo County. She and her brother, PIPER were surrenders & our rescue was able to help in January 2014. PETRA is apparently young, wants attention & action frequently! Her favorite hobby is shredding cardboard boxes LOL! She will be spayed in February 2014. She tolerates being held very well but definitely likes roaming, leaping, frolicking about then rewarded with a leafy green snack. Very clean with her potty box, just be prepared to have a lot of toys!

Comet is ready! Comet is soooooo ready for his new home. Like the classic white bunny, the beautiful black bunnies are frequently overlooked. Comet is a good bunny that would love his own quiet home and his own people to rub his head and give him snuggles.
